- Today I will be showing you how I used the Walakcut Puff Vinyl from Heat Transfer Warehouse on my snapbacks for the 1st time. Watch to see how they turned out. Follow my business channel for all behind the scenes of my business and growing my brand for weekly content.
Katrina I know the heartache of wasted blanks. Though it still looked nice.. I think we all would agree it's ok for you to test stuff on scrap fabric first. We would still get the information we need.
I feel so badly because I know the frustration with vinyl, sublimation and other products that just don't perform as easily as promised. Especially things like mug and tumbler presses. I have gone through more blanks perfecting my craft...
I buy all kinds of scrap fabric from the remnant bins at Joanne fabrics. Helped me out a lot in my testing
First time seeing your content and I had to go ahead and subscribe! Yeah, that puff can be really tricky. I pressed it at 320 and it came out flat and bubbly. So I lowered it to 310 and pressed fore 15 seconds, medium pressure. Although its a warm peel, I go ahead and take the transfer sheet off immediately after pressing. I do that because for some strange reason, it tends to develop a rash-like appearance if you leave the transfer backing on to long. So far, my results have been A1 every time.
After my trial and error, I had to make my own how-to tutorial because I know somebody out there was having the same struggle. So if you need a little guidance with the puff you can check that vid. I'll definitely be tuning in to your channel because I can definitely learn more.
Thanks for the content! Will be checking out your more recent vids.
Hello and welcome. Yeah the puff on hats is tricky. You have to have the right hat press too. Do you have a RUclips channel?
@@katrinasgracefulcreations3711 Exactly. It takes a lotttt of trial and error 🥴. Yes, I actually do have channel. I'm in the t-shirt business as well. 👊🏼
I’d like to watch it
I love videos that make me smile or laugh within one minute of watching lol love you energy already! Okay, back to watching lol
Awww thank you. this video was done so long ago...I gotta go back and see what I did. I'm silly. The ones with my son are even funnier, but of course with some learning.
Don’t let it frustrate you, but don’t waste your hats either, could be a defective roll, your heat press could be the problem. You’ll get it right, you did just what your supposed to do and I appreciate that you show your fails because we all fail at some designs!!!
I used 143 vinyl 3d puff and after I peeled off the transfer paper I had to repress with nothing on top of it. Sounds crazy but that is what makes the puff
To my concern ,u are the best one to learn with Katrina 😊
So happy 😅
Always good to see the good and the bad Katrina. Helps us as Well.
Your not the only one learning, at least your honest, but I seen others doing it wrong and they didn't know, so everyone is learning...but I just watched another video before this, and the guy pressed the vinyl again without the Teflon sheet for another 12-15 seconds and it puffs up more. Thanks for for the video.
Press with Teflon sheet to hold 6 seconds
Press direct with no Teflon 12-15 and it puffed out more....I am a complete beginner, so warning, I could have easily been watching the video wrong and the time might be varied on types of vinyl etc. Obviously this is a year on, so your probably a Jedi now lol
Cheers 🇬🇧
This video is over a year old but thank you
I know your frustrations I'm experimenting with it also😊
I was having the same issue....I changed my settings to 305 for 15 seconds...medium pressure
Katrina, I am so inspired by all your videos. I just tryed the walla walla vinyl an love it. first try an it worked out😊
Maybe you can switch brands of transfers for your puff. Econotransfer is a good one. Still cool design though.
when she got frustrated with the heat press, I FELT THAT ! LOL feel your pain
I show all the good moments as well as the frustration for real. Lol
It might be the way in which you peeled back the transfer. I had the same issue until I pulled it off ‘like a bandage’ immediately after pressing. The HTV then puffed up for me.
After doing shirts I realigns my hat press had too much pressure. There has to be that sweet spot.
Prayers to your family and safe travels
cool good info.
Thank you
Number One.
It is 100% your heat press... the machine isn't giving you even heat and/or pressure... you need a hat press that has the clamshell.
Yeah I know I hate my hat press. Lol.
I press my puff at 285 degrees for 8 seconds . Perfect every time
This video is old my settings are perfect now. I have newer videos
Love, love, love the font. What is it called please
What cutter are you using?
I had the same issues I raised the temp and lightened the pressure
you rock by the way and I love your content
Thank you. Yes I had too much pressure.
I just saw this video i got me the dritz iron its fantasic should look into it
I brought the fusion iq cap press for this reason alone. I want to start doing caps, the right way. hopefully you get everything figured out
Yeah the mug presses I want cost a pretty penny lol
same thing i said flock or brick cuz da puff dont work for me some one said to use the mini easy press and that didnt work for me either on hats
That's my husband drive straight through lol. Aw man I wish I would have seen this before I ordered 3 rolls 🥺
It might work great for you. My hat press sucks
Repress it without a carrier sheet
Siser has a good one. That is about $440ish
hey u...I watched the vid and it reminded me of my first attempt with Puff vinyl and it made me laugh....I got frustrated as well. But I tried again (after i watched a vid from Stahls and somebody else), I used too much pressure. After that I used medium pressure, cover sheet and BOOM!!!! PUFF!!!! Try medium pressure y"all. Peace!!!
Yeah I actually need a different hat press. But I will be doing embroidery on my hats mostly now
L like watch your video
Your hat press doesn't have a pressure knob?
No it doesn’t. I need a new hat press
I feel like I've met you in person before. do you live, or come to Kentucky?
Lol. I have never been to Kentucky but would love to visit.
Where did you get the hats from🤙
I wonder if i could use a regular iron for this puff vinyl?
I don’t know probably wouldn’t work that great
Get yourself a heat gun and check the temperature
Are those YP hats?
Try going 285 degrees. Less pressure.
I just got some more transfers so I will be trying to again for sure.
Where do you get your snap backs hats from? I like the camo and grey ones ! Thanks in advance
I did an unboxing a while ago. I order from a few places depending on who has what I need in stock
KB EThos is my first
My warehouse here in NC Carolina made and I can’t remember the other one off the top of my head. But there are sites like Buck Whokesale as well.
@@katrinasgracefulcreations3711 ok great thanks! Im in North Carolina so i will check it out!

I never put the puff on the back on the hat after that. But ai will soon
hey new to your channel i be having the same problem with the puff on hats
I haven’t seen anyone else who mastered it either. I’m going to master it.
mines b looking like califlower
Lol
😅😅😊😅😅
Where do you get your hats???
I use different places. If I didn’t state it in the video Kb Ethos or my warehouse here in Nc
you are very pretty.
Thank you
@@katrinasgracefulcreations3711 you’re very welcome!!
Do you have a video of you making the shirt u have on or one similar
The shirt I have on I designed but did a print on demand with Amazon. You can layer with HTV or sublimate. I have videos with layering and sublimation. Go through video selection.
@@katrinasgracefulcreations3711 ok thanks I will I tried to cut a design similar and it cut the face up real bad
I sell Jesus gear also, by the way!!
Awesome!
mines didn't puff neither smh
It’s hard on hard if you have too much pressure but I have videos on t shirts and it works great.
Ok den I did it on a shirt my first time hopefully it’ll turn next time love your creative design keep up the awesome work trying to get my Custom design off the ground blessing you
Yeah you got got sis. That’s not puff vinyl
It actually is and its the best but it was my hat press and too much pressure. I have other videos where I use the puff vinyl and it puffs up beautifully. Not sure how I can get got on vinyl.
Press Too hot no puff. Press too long no puff.
This was so long ago and my first time on a hat but my hat press was horrible. I don’t use that one anymore.
........Literally?
