I'm pretty sure with the camera question the person was meaning do you have your laptop camera on when you're tutoring so that the person you're tutoring can see you.

Seeing you start online tutoring inspired me! I’m a First Year Maths student, I’ve been tutoring for around 8 months and it is one of the most rewarding things. @@HollyGabrielle how do you justify charging £40 an hour for your tutoring sessions? It's a massive ripoff when more qualified people than you charge far less. Also, you aren't allowed to ask your tutees to cover the PayPal fee, they could report you to PayPal for that and have your account shut down. It's really exploitative of you to charge such a stupid amount, you are not worth that much money. I sincerely hope the people you tutor realise that they can get a better price for the same level of tutoring elsewhere, because you're ripping people off.

I do online tutoring too (in Germany though) and I applied to a company that organises everything. I applied to tutoring before corona and got (out i of 3 companies) 3 offers from different companies but only one of them offered online tutoring (for the other ones I'd have needed to wait until lockdown is over to be able to work there), so I took the one offer. However I really don't earn a lot (it was the only possible offer though...) so I'd recommend looking into the contract thoroughly.

definitely would want to see a sample session :D And maybe it would reduce the work load a bit if you could include that "'basic sheet of information" about how much it would cost and how to pay you (like which service you can offer) on your website. For me the biggest issue is always money and that I'm not from the UK :D

Have you ever thought of setting up proof reading sessions for uni students. When I write an assignment I never have anyone to proof read. Also any tips on referencing, its a common feedback I keep getting and I cant seem to get it right x

This is literally a very useful video. She'll accept payment through PayPal but she makes you, the student, cover PayPal fees, which is against their terms of service and something she should not be doing. It's £40 an hour, too. Just a stupid amount.

Still, £40/hr is quite steep 👀 but then I guess it takes into account the level and/or content being taught, which is something she mentioned. I appreciate your feedback as one of her students though 😊

I think you need a PGCE (Postgraduate certificate of education) in order to teach in schools :)

@@SienneB it's still far too much. People tutor the same levels at the same standard for less. I'm not a tutee but a friend of mine is!
I love admin and maths (and taught maths in a school for a year), so if you need a maths person on your tutoring team.....😊
