I turned on the CB for about a half hour on Saturday evening and heard a lot of local stuff. I was on ch17 coming from Eastern NC. It was quite busy. I don't use anything special but a decent antenna and a stock 4 watt radio so I can't get out far. I have a couple side band radios. Might listen in on side band later on tonight.
break out those side band radios they have more power than AM. . you will start getting contacts. hope to hear you on the air . thanks for watching 73s 406 caveman.
