    Hi Oscar,
Great to see Mallard again and the HST looks good.
Excellent footage of the show and the church. Some great layouts and modelling, all in all a grand day out plus your ‘new toys’. 😀

    Hi Oscar,
What a beautiful church yard surrounding the show venue.. So quiet and peaceful looking.. It would be worth a visit to the show just to take in the surroundings..
The show was nice to see as well..
While I was watching, I noticed "Thomas" falter on his layout's points.. It's hard to believe that the early Tri-ang "Standard track" had points with a live frog, to overcome this problem (but still isolated the route not taken".. The blades and frog were one die-cast unit (all powered) with contacts and wires carrying the power to either rail beyond the frog.. What a pity that this idea was not carried onto Series 3 track and the future?
You have acquired a couple of wagons that I was not aware of? My collecting days are a little less recent.. The China clay and "special" wagon are new to me?
Each time that I see under the newer wagons, I get the impression that they do not have any additional weight. Or is it just very well hidden?. I have a few here, that had to have some weight added to make them stay on the track.. Could these have been "cheaper versions" for train sets that found their way into public domain?
The days of the old die-cast chassis are certainly gone, even though some of the wagon body molds have lived on a lot longer on plastic chassis..
Thanks for another nice video, taking us back to yesteryear.. Looking forward to next week.
    Rob

Good morning Robin glad you enjoyed the video and seeing if you shot to the church it's a lovely building and surrounding area and has a very peaceful feel about it. I'm not sure about the weights I think some items they're quite well hidden and some don't seem to be waited enough, some of the China made wagons from my Midland flyer set are so light they will jump off the track when you open the door in the room! And a lot of the MK1 style coaches from the late 60s early 70s of mine seem to be missing their weight I was never sure whether this was a cost-cutting exercise or somebody has just removed them in the past.
      Thanks again take care.

Oscar, yet another enjoyable video, HST and Mallard to start with. Such a treat. Enjoyable visit to the show and such wonderful layouts - loved the Lego APT. Looking forward to next video next week and further running around the layout. Great view of the railway room, wide shot really gives the impression of how large it is, great use of space. All best as always, Marc

Good morning Marc, great to hear you enjoyed that, the Lego locomotives are a lot of fun and I was lucky enough to be able to operate the Lego APT for a short period of time along with other children visiting the show... Definitely brings a great big smile to the face operating such a large and terrific looking toy train, especially with the tilting action its tilting action.
      Thanks again take care.

Hello Oscar, that was a beautiful venue for the Blyth & Tyne MRS show, thank you for the look around the exterior. With the crazy increases in pricing of new stock I was pleased to see that you paid very reasonable prices for the items you bought. I have a boxed set of the R.654 inclined piers for system six. I'm not sure whether mine is complete or not. The Taylor and MC Kenna wagon is a real gem, I like it very much. Regards, David.

Good morning David I was very pleased with those purchases, those inclined are quite an interesting product and there seems to have been no provision for sidewalls with this incarnation of the elevated piers in the catalogue unit the later side 70s. Thanks again for watching glad you enjoyed the video and the venue, I drive or walk past the church almost every day, a lovely looking building set in very tranquil looking grounds.
      Take care.

I love how that Lego APT actually tilts when it goes around corners! I don't think any official Lego train has done that yet
the Moria St Goods layout reminds me of those seen in the more recent Hornby catalogs

    Absolutely great Oscar...
Up until recently I tended not to venture into the realms of HORNBY, but I bought both the '73 and '75 versions of the Freightmaster and now I am hooked.
The colours of stock are quite vibrant compared with those of yesteryear and are very appealing. I particularly like the look of your cement wagon rake, it's very eye catching.
For reasons I won't go into here I stop at the products made "abroad".
Before I purchase I make sure the item has the "Built in Britain" mark molded on the base. In anycase where locos are concerned I don't go for DCC which are past the Margate period if I am not mistaken.
BTW...I see your second Zero 1 has discoloration on it's deck facia...the one I just purchased is in a similar condition, however the slave is still silver. Have you tried to regain the lustre of yours?
I am wondering if my slave wasn't used and packed away and the master circumed to daily ultra violet light?
Anyway...super video and am feeling more inclined to getting the Zero up and running....once I have decided where I want to settle.
    All good wishes
    Brian

Good morning Brian there are some wonderful items from this rich period period in the Hornby catalogue, Great to hear you're enjoying collecting them, quite addictive how do you say. Nothing seems to shift the discolouration on that second Zero 1 unit. There is a light patch underneath the slider, I suspect it's been left sitting in the light and atmosphere for quite some period not in use. Thanks again glad you enjoyed the video.
      Take care.

Morning Oscar, that was a great start see the HST and the Green Mallard charging around, that was a great view of the railway we don't often see the whole thing, like the way you've used the whole area to its best, the little recess on the left to allow the swing of the track and the cutout for the doorway. That looks like a really nice show up there, I've only managed one down here and that was the Exeter model railway show,, but they're always good fun, and full of loads of great ideas and items for sale. Thanks Oscar, will see you soon Eddy xx

Hi there Oscar,, yet another gr8 video there m8...
So if you have the zero 1 controller can you run dc as a well as the zero 1.
Also how does the zero one rate say as compared to the clipper duette where the power to the loco is concerned.
Any info is muchly appreciated and thankyou.
    Cheers from John in Australia.

    • @oscarpaisley
      @oscarpaisley  2 года назад +1

Good morning John thank you again for watching great to hear you enjoyed the video. A locomotive without the Zero 1 module on the track would be exposed to AC power so you're not able run DC locomotives and the locomotives converted with a module will not run on DC but a switch space permitting could be put in somewhere to enable you to swap between the two types of control. Taking power from the clipper the locomotives have more get up and go, using half wave on the clipper very low speed control is achievable just like on the zero one. I don't think the half wave on the clipper or the power delivery from the Zero 1 are very kind to the motors both instances are very noisy, however the Zero 1 makes the motor is very very hot, which I don't think it's a good thing long-term.
      Take care.

If I recall properly, one of Oscar's subscribers 3D printed the uncoupler, but it is essentially the same as the Hornby uncoupler. Brighter colors so as not to loose it. The angle and or length of the handle was twiddled with.

Hi, I'm Rob from Handmade accessories.. I sent Oscar two of our Handmade Accessories de-couplers because he actually made some suggestions that we based them on?
ruclips.net/video/8TKvwuU1-ZU/видео.html (at 13.45mins.) Is the first mention of the de-couplers on this channel.. They first actually appeared in the episode ... ruclips.net/video/WkW0pJRO0Bg/видео.html
I hope this is helpful... Bye, now.

    • @oscarpaisley
      @oscarpaisley  2 года назад

Good morning Daniel the uncouple (HMA-1957) is manufactured by company called Hand Made Accessories in Tasmania, the owner of the company very kindly sent me a couple to play with, they are very handy and appear to be 3-D printed but I'm not 100% sure. I've included a link below to the website. They arrive in two parts and require gluing together this allows you the opportunity of mounting a handle at a shallow or a steep angle, at a steeper angle you get more flexibility than the original Tri-ang product.
Hope this is of some help, take care.
