hi Oscar, great to wake up to a normal model railway, all this rolling stock i remember as a child, also when we had toy shops and would see Triang trains displayed in the window.
Thanks Peter, great to hear you enjoyed that, toy shops were great places.
All the best.
Oscar
Good morning Oscar, hope you're keeping well. It's Martin from Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire again. Just watched your excellent video with your tank wagons and your tank locomotive. I remember these tank wagons and the excellent tank locomotive, definitely my favourite locomotive as well. Every Sunday morning I look forward to seeing you running your amazing layout. Thank you for a great video and all the work and time it takes to make them. Thank you again. Well, as always it's time to have my cup of tea and a toasted tea cake. Keep safe Oscar and have a good week ahead. See you next Sunday. 🙂👍🚂
Thank you again, Martin. It's great to hear enjoying the videos. Been a busy week here, just getting around to reading through some more of the comments. I don't know where the time goes! and not had a great deal with the railway this week.
All the best.
Oscar
Once again Oscar always a joy to watch thanks very much Patrick Quinn IRL
Thanks again Patrick, Great to hear you enjoyed that.
Take care.
Oscar
Hi Oscar, great seeing all those tank wagons running , particularly nice touch seeing the shunting of last week's Shell train at the beginning. I really enjoyed the Hymeks running together, one on freight duties and the other with the Western Region coaches. You could indulge us with one or two more minutes of the running session at the end, I enjoyed it so much I had to replay the last 2 minutes .. twice, it's kind of meditative! all the best Guy
Good morning Guy great to hear you enjoyed the video. I'll see if we can get some additional running in upcoming videos.
Take care.
Oscar
Yes... I have noticed that some of my vehicles with Mk 2 couplings run at a slight angle.
The Hymek is a nice looking locomotive; attractive in both liveries.
The evolution of the rolling stock is fascinating.
Most of our Tri-ang/Hornby 4 wheel stock seems to 'crab a little' too.. I think that the coupler hooks tend to be slightly "off-center" where they pull on the coupler bars? This pulls the wagon slightly to one side? (they all appear to pull in the same direction). If both hooks are pulling evenly, it does not seem to be so noticeable? But often, one of the Mk.2's will lift a bit and not pull evenly? We have a trick of slipping a small piece of drinking straw over the bar to hold the wagons coupled while running? This tends to "self center" and usually pulls straighter. (But unfortunately, you cannot do shunting or uncoupling with the wagons 'looped' together this way)?..
A mesmerising running session to start Sunday with Oscar. You have an extensive collection of tank wagons! I like the look of both the Hymeks. Thanks for sharing. Roy.
Good morning Roy great to hear you enjoyed that and enjoyed seeing the collection of tank wagons.
Take care.
Oscar
Happy Sunday Oscar, some good running around today, thanks for sharing this video, John
Thank you, John. Great to hear you enjoyed the video and I had a great day on Sunday.
All the best.
Oscar
You have a wonderful collection of tank wagons Oscar and once you had a couple of issues sorted out they ran extremally well. A testament to your knowledge and skill. David.
Good morning David thanks for looking and the compliments, Glad you enjoyed this collection of items on the railway.
Take care.
Oscar
I can remember having the blue hymek back in the early 70s! Loved it and used it so much that the trailing bogie axles wore through the plastic so the wheels fell out! Was sent back to Hornby and after a few weeks came back with a new bogie FOC as I remember? Wish I still had it looking at this running session!
Good morning Mike, thanks for looking in and taking the time to share your experience with your Hymek in the 70s and Hornby's customer service back then.
It's much appreciated. Take care.
Oscar
Great video and running session with those 2 Hymeks this morning Oscar, both looking great with the trains you set set up for them, for that one tanker missing the shell lettering on it there is bound to be a transfer set out there for if you want to get the wagon to be correct, keep up the great work Oscar.
Morning Dave, thank you again great to hear you enjoyed the running with the Hymeks, I shall keep a lookout for some replacement decals.
Take care.
Oscar
Very enjoyable running session. Thank you.
Good morning to you Oscar from Glasgow another great video from you Sir and showing you collection of Railway to us thanks again for the video
Good morning Cameron great to hear you enjoyed the video again on Sunday.
Thanks for taking the time.
Oscar
Another great video; so relaxing to watch Oscar. Love the alternating tank wagons in colours, BP - Shell… missed the catalogue pages this video lol. So relaxing to watch and hear your thought processes. All best Marc from Leighton Buzzard
Hi Marc, thanks again for looking it. Should be the odd catalogue page crop up in the next few videos.
All the best.
Oscar
Hi Oscar, Just catching up with this video a week late (gardening all day last Sunday). Lovely video again, nice to hear about you getting the 2-6-2 3MT set as a child. It is a wonderful loco, and you've got it running really nice and smoothly. It is a steam equivalent to the Hymek really I suppose as a class 3 mixed traffic loco.
The tank wagons are great in a nice long rake and really suit the black liveried tank engine, it gives the railway a fabulous 1950s/60s industrial look.
Kind regards, Antony.
Hi Oscar,
What a great collection of Tankers.. And all early ones with Mk. 2 couplers too... I had a few of those many years ago, but sadly most have the corners broken from the bar at the end of the tank,. My transfers have deteriorated badly too, obviously from too much playtime when I was young? I may still have a couple that are 'intact' Your rakes look really good.. I liked, and cared for , the R 117 Bogie TC tankers more?.. They are my favorite Tankers .. I also liked the big 100 Ton B.R. ones that came along later, but never bought any of them though..
I would love to have a Hymek with the extra pick ups, Hymeks are usually very good with big loads, their Magnadhesion works very well.
Great watching these trains run around the layout, But R 59 Tank loco is always popular to watch?
Thank you for showing us these classic models.. It is much appreciated!!!
Good morning Rob, I think many of these tankers of mine must've had quite a sheltered life for the transfers survive like this especially the ones that are made up in three parts, when the plastic shifts and the parts start to move apart the transfers begin to deteriorate rapidly, I have three or four of those hundred tonne tankers with shell transfers on them and have just recently acquired a couple with BOC transfers which I think come from the mid 70s, it's a train I'm looking forward to making up on the railway, the Tri-ang Hornby Hymek's definitely seem to have a great deal of pulling power and certainly smoother over the points with the additional pick ups.
Thanks again for looking in.
Oscar
Hi Oscar, another great video for a Sunday morning while having my bacon roll . I myself have many of these tank wagons. Michael from Blyth
Good morning Michael, you appear to be a little way up the coast from me if that's Blyth Northumberland, I'm just a little bit further south in North Shields, Great to hear you enjoyed the video along with your bacon roll.
Oscar
@@oscarpaisley , yes Oscar Blyth, Northumberland not the Nottingham version. Enjoy all your videos, great stuff.
great vid of cool trains thanks for the share on channel thanks lee
Thanks, Lee. Glad you enjoyed the video.
All the best.
Oscar
Hi Oscar,
Lovely intro and I can appreciate the time it takes to film and edit.
Great tank wagon video, as I mentioned last week I also have a good few of these and in the spares box, ends missing, ladders, chassis and bodies etc etc.
I’m getting some rolling eyes questioning why I am looking at almost 60 year old model trains in 30 degrees of sun and I’m not going to dignify that look with a response, we are what we are 😂😂
Good morning Gordon great to hear you enjoyed the video and hope you're enjoying the sunshine. It's currently grey and drizzly here this morning in the north east.
Take care.
Oscar
Morning Oscar ,what a great site the 2 Hymeks make on your layout ,I do prefer the green livery .Your Pannier seems to have a different Style motor .The oil tanks make an interesting subject & a joy to watch no matter what the motive power is .😊 Suffolk .
Hi Steven, thanks again for looking in that Pannier Tank has a can type motor in it which is mounted in a cradle that fits into the slot ordinarily used by the XO-motor. I think they experimented with these in the early to mid 70s for awhile, some of 0-4-0 got them as well.
Take care.
Oscar
Lovely to see the Hymeks running! I believe there was an Irish version done in CIE orange and black, but not sure whether it was a Triang Hornby product; some mark2 coaches also had the 'CIE' treatment, again they may formed part of a set but who/when they were done I am not sure.
Hi, glad you enjoyed seeing the Hymeks on the railway, thanks for the info on the Irish version. I shall have to keep a look at all of those.
All the best.
Oscar
Hi Oscar, I think you should have the 75 ton breakdown crane and wagons set up on your layout to come and fix the derailments when they happen....... :). I have a real soft spot for the 2 tone BR diesels. Not so for the blue ones. Another great Sunday morning video.
Great idea Gerard, thanks again for looking in.
Oscar
I’m a bit Obsessed with Tank wagons atm, trying to get a couple nice rakes together without spending a fortune. The Hymek was Always a”Headturner” when New and Clean but maybe not so much when they were coming to the end of working life covered in Grime. I’m going to a Toyfair at Malvern Today so will hopefully find a few Bargain tanks. Great Vid Many Thanks O.P. 👍🏻
Good morning Tony thanks again for looking in. Hope you had a terrific day out at the toy fair in Malvern and come across a few great items for your railway.
Take care.
Oscar
Hello Oscar - @14:33 Your Blue Diesel it like - Nope I don't want to play today!!! - I'll just de-rail twice!!! 😉😄🚂🚂🚂
Hi, thanks for looking in, It's all good fun.
Oscar
You've got all the stock and locos running extremely well. I like the grey - black - grey - black pattern.
All self-respecting GWR/BR(W) fans love the Hymeks: probably the lightest used locos in the region ever.
The derailment could have been an excuse to call up a Traing brakedown crane.
Didn't they look great running togther?
Good morning Stephen thanks again for looking in. Great to hear you enjoyed the collection of items on the railway in Sunday's video. You may be right it could be time to dig out the Brakedown Crane.
All the best.
Oscar
Hi Oscar , loving the channel, whilst having a loft clear out I’ve come across a few hornby/triang rolling stock items that may interest you , a triang princess Elizabeth , a caboose from my long gone davey crockett, an early hornby brake van and a hornby open truck . If you’d like them you’re welcome for the price of postage
Regards Dave
Hi Dave! Thank you for the kind offer and taking the time to watch my videos. You can contact me at the email address below, I look forward to hearing from you!
Thanks, Oscar

I don't like stinky diesels. I admitted if I had a favourite, he would be Mr. Growling 37.
Sorry but starting to find these a bit boring , too much waffle , who cares what an old triang box looks like & it’s not a model railway it’s a big train set on a board going round & round , a railway runs from point to point via various stops along route , space and modeling etc each to their own but I’m finding these very anoraky now, time to unsubscribe sorry
I think that's a bit mean.. Many of us DO care? A point to point model railway is not really much good for those of us who like to watch trains run? These are more in the realm of "fine scale modellers" and not toy trains? Perhaps you should upload an "interesting" model rail video to RUclips for us to look at? I have done a few videos, and find it very hard to try and match Oscar's quality?
Hi i was just wondering why is it that you dont run anything produced in the last 20 years? The quality of the models made by tri ang are crap and worthy of the bin
That's unkind and uncalled for. If you don't like the content, don't watch it. Mr Paisley is just sharing his passion for these venerable pieces.
Wrong room dear fellow. Do close the door.
I don't think its uncalled for these models are absolutely embarrassing compared to whats available today. I cant get my head around why someone would want to buy and run these skip worthy items when you can get quality models and buildings that actually look real and would be worth running.
@danielbrooks3452 As I said, if that's your opinion, then look elsewhere. No need to be rude to someone who enjoys them.
I find it great to see these models still appreciated most of us have had decades of pleasure from them. Many will outlive us and the modern ones.
