Was is it these people called Gnostics who were among the church deceiving them, something like a Gnostics heresy, I searched that before, for 1 John?? It seems Paul wasn’t talking to believers in just this part of the chapter: “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” 1 John 1:3 KJV
Yeah, the Gnostics denied that Jesus had come in the flesh, and 1 John points that out. John often says "we" but really indirectly addresses the deceivers among the congregation. So the "we", when it describes the antichrist-characteristics, is used in the sense of "someone", which then would sound like: "If someone says that he has not sinned, he makes Him a liar, and His word is not in him." (V.10)
Amen I confess & profess with everyone here that you are right on! Thank you so much! So grateful for you on here. Christ Jesus is Lord over all amen 🙏🏻 Welcome 🥰 and praise Jesus for you ❤️

I agreewith you, I was just thinking when you said it is from the catholic church and that verse came to mind of "Confess your sins to one another" James 5:16..maybe that is where the catholics get it from.
Yes, could very well be. Misinterpreted of course. It simply restores fellowship between brothers and sisters to admit that you've wronged them and to apologize. It has nothing to do with "confessing" (which is agreeing with God's judgment that one is a sinner) individual sins to a "priest", let alone would he have any "power" to declare you forgiven as some sort of representative of God. We are already forgiven and always have access to God on the basis of the blood of Christ alone!
@@evasavedbygrace4ever Yes, new to the channel. Have been hearing a false gospel for 62 years. God bless you and Gregg Jackson for teaching the one True Gospel of Jesus Christ !!!
@@timroot4207 Praise God that you found grace! I myself have been exposed to a false works-gospel for decades. It's the predominant teaching. Until I found the grace channels on YT. Now I can't unsee anymore what's so clearly declared in Scripture!
No. Thinking of it "like this" - then follows a human example - is the wrong approach to understanding biblical truths and it is especially often used when it comes to this particular topic. I am not the sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world and who promised to forgive them ALL to those who believe on Him. When we want to find the truth about a certain biblical topic, we've got to find out what the BIBLE says regarding it, and not what man thinks it should say. Unfortunately, many haven't understood this basic truth; but even if they see certain truths in the Word, or listen to someone explain them from Scripture, are in unbelief about what they read or hear. The examples from human relationships then serve as a cover for their unbelief.
Could you say from this that if you are trying to keep the law for righteousness you aren't confessing "agreeing with" God's judgement of us as sinners. Though one may "confess" what sins come to their mind? Meaning it's what justifies them and excuses them.? Instead of just yielding to His judgement on us. Just something I'm pondering today thanks.
Yes. The confession in this case is a dead work. Many Catholics "confess" all the time, but that doesn't save them. We are supposed to "repent from dead works and have faith toward God" (Heb. 6:1). Dead works are done with a self-righteous attitude and the notion that by them, we merit a response/reward from God. That includes the erroneous belief of many that their sin confession merits them forgiveness. Not agreeing with God's judgment on us keeps us from understanding His grace.
The context of the chapter tells us what the sin against the Holy Spirit is. The Pharisees had just accused Jesus of casting out demons by Satan. This was their ultimate rejection of Jesus as their Messiah. Jesus told them that this sin would not be forgiven. That was true for the individual Pharisees who had accused Him of that. The Pharisees however were also the spiritual representatives of the nation of Israel. Had the nation as a whole accepted Jesus as their Messiah, the kingdom could have come right then and there. Up to that point, Jesus had offererd it to them. From that moment on, however, He no longer did. He started to speak in parables, which was a judgment, so that they would "hear, but not understand" (13:14). Only individual Israelites who had faith could understand. Israel as natural branch was cut off (see Rom 11) as a vehicle to spread the gosple and the Gentile branch grafted in. This does not mean, however, that the promise of the kingdom will not be fulfilled, it was only postponed. In the tribulation, God will direct His attention back to Israel. At the end of that time, the surviving remnant of Israel will believe and accept their Messiah. They will be grafted back in and the kingdom will come.
I am confused. I understand that my sins ( past, present, and future) have been forgiven because of my faith in His completed work. However, where I am confused is the fellowship part. I look at it differently. I look at it from my marriage standpoint. If I do something or say something to offend my husband, my fellowship is hurt, if I do not apologize. When I do or say something and I feel the Lord bringing it to light, I confess or agree with the Lord and say “ You are right Lord that is wrong. Then I continue to thank Him that I have already been forgiven and confess those promises. When you see sin displayed in your life, like pride or something, you don’t acknowledge it? Could you clarify?
Marriage is a false analogy in this context, an analogy that is often used by pastors and preachers. A marriage is a covenant between two people with obligations on both parties to maintain it. We are not in a covenant relationship with God. He fulfilled it all, unilaterally, He provided propitiation for our sins, the veil to the Holiest was torn and we have access to God via Christ, who is the new and living way. Access at any time, solely based on His shed blood. Our fellowship with God is not hurt, i.e. interrupted, when we sin. Our life is hidden with Christ in God. People who teach that, whether they realize it or not, are self-righteous, because they focus on outwardly visible sins like stealing, adultery etc. Never sins like religious pride for example. We have 70,000 thoughts per day, now figure how many of those are sinful. Don't forget sins of omission. We would be constantly out of fellowship with God, and, according to that confession system, would have to be confessing our sins every minute of every waking hour. This is unbelief on man's part that Christ really accomplished it ALL, he thinks he has to work His way into the Holiest by sin confession. The Bible calls this a dead work. That being said, there is nothing wrong with acknowledging a certain sin before God - however, not in order to restore a fellowship that was supposedly broken. Once we agree with God's judgment that we are a sinner, this doesn't stop when we become a believer. We keep acknowledging that fact, we do not deny it. However, this is not what brings us to God, nor is there any severed relationship that must be restored. Jesus said it is finished. In the OT, it wasn't the scapegoat on which the sins of the people had been transferred that was brought into the Holiest, it was the blood of the sacrifice. The scapegoat was sent into the wilderness. According to Heb. 10:22, we need to have our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience. It is we who shrink back in condemnation and fear, like Adam and Eve in the garden, God never withholds His fellowship from us. We have become the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Cor. 5:21) and God made us accepted in the Beloved (Christ) - Eph. 1:6. We come forward in Christ's perfect righteousness.
@@evasavedbygrace4everokay how you explained it is how I thought about it. Sometimes though when I feel real bad about a sin I did. I will say. “ thank you Lord for dying for my sins all my past present and future sins and I do have faith in you and no matter what I do I won’t ever lose my salvation but please help me overcome this sin” or I’ll say “Thank you Lord for what you did perfectly and I know I know I’m covered your perfect blood covers all my sins past present and future sins I just feel sorry I acted or thought a certain way. But Because of what you did I still get to go to heaven. Thank you Lord for what you did for me because if you didn’t I would be damn” Is that okay that I do that. I don’t do it for anything else other than just to give thanks and praise to him. I know I’ll never fall out of fellowship as well. I’m positionally eternally right with him because of what he did for me. That he’s the reason why I never have to worry about my sins condemning me. Because I trust in his perfect holy blood that it’s more than enough to cover my past present and future sins.
@YHU777_ Yes - on the one hand, it's normal to express this in our communication with God and to be grieved about our sins. Just remember you're more than "positionally" and "eternally" right with God. Not only are you "not damned", you are very practically "accepted in the Beloved" (Eph. 1:6) any time. Which is what those models would call "experiential fellowship ". Heb. 10:19 speaks about a "boldness" we can have to enter the Holiest, the basis of which solely being the blood of Jesus. Hebrews also speaks about the necessity of having our conscience perfected. The more we understand that we are not only not condemned, but always welcomed with arms open wide (see Luke 15, the father of the prodigal son. The son had prepared a "confession" speech, but the Father didn't even want to hear it), the bolder we become. This grows to the extent that we understand that our access is 100% contingent on Jesus' finished work, and 0% on us or our remorse. The scapegoat in the OT with the sins laid on him was driven out into the wilderness, it was not brought into the Holiest, only the blood of the sacrifices was accepted there.
First of all, you got to GET saved. On your channel, I do not find the gospel, but a prayer to a saint and to an angel. "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all" (1 Tim. 2:5+6a) "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day. Whoever believes that is saved (see 1 Cor. 15:1-4) "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." (Eph. 2:8+9) Once we are saved, we are cleansed from ALL unrighteousness, ALL our sins are forgiven. "For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified." (Heb. 10:14) "Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them." (Heb.7:25) If we think that there is anything WE must do to stay saved, we do not trust (=believe) fully in the redemptive work of Christ alone, but also in our works. But our works don't save us, nor do they keep us saved. The only thing that counts before God is Christ's work on the cross. Once we are saved, it is Jesus Himself who guarantees our salvation: He said: "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand." (John 10:27+28) I advise you to stop reading those prayer books and saint prayer cards and start reading the Bible. Look up the verses I cited here and read them for yourself.

They're brethren. It's not different asking your church to pray for you saints are apart of the church. But I'm definitely saved already thanks tho
Yes, LIVING saints are brethren that can pray for you. What you are doing is talking to DECEASED "saints". Those "saints" are individuals declared saints after their death by the Catholic or Orthodox Church, according to their unbiblical criteria. According to the Bible, everyone who believes the gospel is a saint. The Bible strictly forbids contact and communication with the dead, which is what those saints are, dead people. You obviously do not understand what I tried to explain, namely, that Christ is our only mediator. We do not pray to anyone else but God, and the way we come to Him is through Christ. We do not pray to dead people. But since you insist and do not understand this basic gospel truth, I doubt that you are saved. Bible reading without actually believing the gospel that saves is of no value.
@@evasavedbygrace4ever I do believe the gospel... I am saved but you don't have to believe me. I don't believe it's wrong to ask your ancestors to pray for you while you're down here. @@timroot4207 Praise God that you found grace! I myself have been exposed to a false works-gospel for decades. It's the predominant teaching. Until I found the grace channels on YT. Now I can't unsee anymore what's so clearly declared in Scripture!
Think of it like this, does someone that offended you have to apologize to you to be forgiven by you?
@@evasavedbygrace4ever thanks for the quick response. 👍
Can you explain Matthew 12 verses 31-32?
Amen
I will say.
“ thank you Lord for dying for my sins all my past present and future sins and I do have faith in you and no matter what I do I won’t ever lose my salvation but please help me overcome this sin” or I’ll say
“Thank you Lord for what you did perfectly and I know I know I’m covered your perfect blood covers all my sins past present and future sins I just feel sorry I acted or thought a certain way. But Because of what you did I still get to go to heaven. Thank you Lord for what you did for me because if you didn’t I would be damn”
Is that okay that I do that.
Amen 💯
So youre saying we dont have to keep confessing our sins to stay saved?
First of all, you got to GET saved. On your channel, I do not find the gospel, but a prayer to a saint and to an angel.
"For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all" (1 Tim. 2:5+6a)
"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day. Whoever believes that is saved (see 1 Cor. 15:1-4)
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." (Eph. 2:8+9)
Once we are saved, we are cleansed from ALL unrighteousness, ALL our sins are forgiven. "For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified." (Heb. 10:14)
"Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them." (Heb.7:25)
If we think that there is anything WE must do to stay saved, we do not trust (=believe) fully in the redemptive work of Christ alone, but also in our works. But our works don't save us, nor do they keep us saved. The only thing that counts before God is Christ's work on the cross.
Once we are saved, it is Jesus Himself who guarantees our salvation: He said: "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand." (John 10:27+28)
I advise you to stop reading those prayer books and saint prayer cards and start reading the Bible. Look up the verses I cited here and read them for yourself.
@@evasavedbygrace4ever i am saved been saved for years. God even told me I'm saved cause I believe the gospel and trust Jesus. I do not believe it's wrong to ask saints to pray for you. They're brethren. It's not different asking your church to pray for you saints are apart of the church. But I'm definitely saved already thanks tho
@@evasavedbygrace4ever and I do read my Bible
It's not talking to the dead it's talking to GOD asking him to ask heaven to pray for you. You're not Jesus you can't know if I'm saved or not only Jesus knows that. However I am saved and Catholics are still saved Christians as well.
