That was a beautiful statement, Alexandra. I’m Roman Catholic. Without the Holy Land of Israel 🇮🇱 the home of the Chosen Ones, there wouldn’t be a Holy Roman Catholic Church. Your God the Father is my God the Father. Catholics believe in 3 persons in 1 God - God the Father, the Son, & the Holy Spirit. So interesting... I was ordained on the exact date and year, yet on a different side of the globe, in Slovakia (central Europe) with two other brothers of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD). It was an amazing day for me as well. My tears were streaming during the laying of hands, as several of the priests that have deeply influenced me were present and young people sung an amazing song of Isaiah 61: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me... Thanks God I had a handkerchief in my pocket. So grateful and overwhelmed by God!

On my ordination day to the Permanent Diaconate, 28 June 2015, I was keeping it together, not easy for someone of Irish descent, until my brother, who went to God in 2018, arrived. He held me and said “Dad (who we lost in 1996) would be so proud”. That was it, tears poured down my cheeks and kept going, on and off, until the end of the ceremony. I agree that those few minutes, prostrated on the floor, calling on the saints was a wonderful moment allowing time to compose myself ready for the Holy Mass to continue. I also had the privilege of distributing Holy Communion to my family, whilst my 3 colleagues, ordained in the same day, were given a chalice each by the Archbishop. God bless.
Congrats!! I’ve been following your journey for many years, and I enter the monastery of Poor Clare Colettines in Cleveland in August. You will be in my prayers, and I ask for yours!
This morning when I woke up I was thinking that at the end of the month (May 26, to be exact) I will be celebrating my 47th anniversary of ordination. I am Pastor Emeritus now, and many thoughts crowded my mind as I started my day. During these 47 years, I have had some difficult days and days of both positive and insecure wonder. I am grateful for both. I learned from everything! I started out a bit rocky! I walked very worried into the Newark Sacred Heart Cathedral because I was on very heavy antibiotics for pneumonia! But my Mom had called the cloistered Dominican nuns at the Rosary Shrine in Summit the night before and told them “ Girls get on your knees, he’s sick.” I was nervous walking up that incredibly long aisle until I saw my sister sitting right at the aisle. Then, I was okay . So the Sisters and my sister gave me the strength! I was also very calm. It all felt right. And so I began my journey in the priesthood. As I have said, I have had my “moments” , but I can honestly say, never a regret. I hope and pray that it will be the same for you. I really enjoy your posts. I would probably debate you young rascals on some points, but ultimately I pray only that you love God’s People with all your heart that you have already given to Him. Just do as you know what Jesus would do, and most of all, be kind. Chuck McDermott
Theresa I am still a Catholic priest and am very much loving my faith! I am just retired from day to day activity. The title Pastor Emeritus just means that I am retired and am still connected with my parish. I still say Mass, hear confessions, bury the dead, etc.
@@charlesmcdermott6139 oh okay! I was little confused and got thrown off by the title pastor since I'm only used to hearing it within the protestant sect, but thank you for clearing it up ! :) would you mind talking some about your discernment process for religious life as well? When did you start feeling the call to be priest?
Thank you Fr McDermott for sharing your thoughts especially with your long life as a priest to a novice priest. I'm sure you would have some wonderful and sound advice for him.
Congratulations on your Holy Ordination to Priesthood! Your RUclips channel gives me inspiration to discern vocation. Thank you! I hope through this, many may also come to Christ to do religious vocations!
The Father and the Son are the Parents of the Holy Spirit, if many churches are correct. If many churches are correct, The Trinity is a Family-- two Parents and a Progeny, just like a human family. (Humans are made in the "image" and "likeness" of God according to Genesis 1:26) In the Book of Job which is part of the bible, the Lord is compared to a father and also a mother with a womb. "From whose womb comes the ice? Who gives birth to the frost from the heavens"--Job 38:29. Because God can also be thought of like a mother (Isaiah 42:14,Isaiah 66:13,Matthew 23:37), all three roles (father, mother, progeny) in a basic human family are filled in the Trinity. Saying that the "Father and the Son are the Parents of the Holy Spirit" is simply another way of saying that the Holy Spirit "proceeds from the Father and the Son" which has been official Catholic Church teaching for centuries. According to the Catholic Church, the Son is begotten from the Father. If this is true, the Father is the Father (Parent) of the Son. According to the Church, the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son.If this is true, the Father and the Son are the Parents of the Holy Spirit. According to the "Catechism of the Catholic Church" paragraph 264, "The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father as the first principle and...from the communion of both the Father and the Son" Of course, the scriptures are vague if the Holy Spirit is the 3rd or 2nd Person of the Trinity--whichever of these is true, the First Person and the Second Person may be the Parents of the Third. Parent definition 1a from Merriam-Webster dictionary: one that begets or brings forth offspring.
@@JS-jd7xo You are not talking about Human Being like us...God is a Supreme Being... Trinity is the truth about one Godhead the Father the Son and holy Spirit...
Congratulations Father Casey! From your first days as an intern at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Greenville, SC, to now as a Priest in the Catholic Church, is a great testament of what happens when someone puts their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. You allowed many of God's people to come alongside you to guide and support you to a vocation that is already building God's Kingdom here on earth. I am inspired by what God has done, and will do, in and through your ministry, and will pray for your ministry daily. And remember, the only way that any of us can be the Christ-like role models needed by those in our environments is to daily put Christ FIRST in our lives!
I cried a bucketful of tears. St. Francis of Assisi is one of my favorite saint. Even as a layman I tried to practice the vow of poverty. You inspire me a lot. Thanks a lot.
As a female teen who is heavily influenced by cathecism growing up. I find this so beautiful and inspiring. Though i have so much to live ahead in my life. I would also hope one day i could learn more and the meaning of life in the church as a servant of God. If indeed that truly is Gods will for me. Thank you Father Cassey. and belated Congratulations!
FATHER Casey! I finally got around to watching this video, I'm a newly confirmed catholic and watching this video brought me to tears. I was reminded again why I made this decision to enter the church, I was so happy to see all those women during the mass, and I was in awe of the symbolism that is seen in the parts of the mass that you had to do (such as laying down). I'm so thankful for your videos and all that they have done to encourage me in the faith! Keep it up and may God bless you!
I remember when I was a kid, a priest from my hometown was ordained in our church. I was completely clueless on why he had to lay face down on the ground during the service. Congratulations Fr Casey 💕🙏 Love from Malaysia 🇲🇾
That video was.."wow"... fantastic and emotive insight into such a special day for you and the church. Congratulations Father.. I look forward to following you (virtually at least) in your ministry in the months and years ahead. Ben, Scotland, UK.
@Michael John Dennis if you do some reading on the Scottish roots how they connect to Jersualem from Norma Goodrich's Arthur, Grail, and the other books in the same related Arthur category, it opens eyes to many things, expecially if you know Anne Catherine Emmrich's visions books, expecially the life of christ as well. Besides knowing the princess Ann story.
I discovered your videos while on lockdown. I hope you never tire making them, bringing forth the Catholic faith to every single person in the world to watch and realize how great it is to belong to this One Great Apostolic Church. I can't thank you enough. Congratulations, Father! Warm greetings from the Philippines! ❤️😇

Congratulations, FATHER Casey, from Germany! I've been waiting for this video! What a wonderful celebration. Your are going to be a blessing wherever you serve the people in the name of the Lord. My prayers are with you. Gloria in excelsis Deo! Herzlichen Glückwunsch!
Congratulations Fr. Casey. I am so happy for you. The video brought me to tears. Lord Jesus, thank you for a brand new priest in your Church. Lord, provide him with all he needs to spread the gospel far and wide and win many souls to Your Kingdom. May he always remain faithful to you. Uplift him in struggles he may find along the way. May you hind him in your wounds during these times where the enemy cannot reach him. AMEN.
So thrilled that my sweet church is your first home as an OFM. Your first homily with me in the congregation was given smiling thumbs up by everyone in attendance ... We are so fortunate and the students will be over the moon!
I am so happy I 'found' you (on RUclips). You are now part of our class. You are a great role model and I love that you found the joy in your ordination. I know it's been a few years yet you're still bringing smiles to many as we watch this.
So, I don’t know what’s happening with me religiously, but I feel drawn to god and I’m trying to push him away, it’s not my belief system i am pagan. But he gently he keeps reminding me he’s there. Watching this made me cry, it stirred something in me that I simply can’t explain. Congratulations Father, you are a bright light.
I know you commented 5 months ago, but if you are still not sure : I was agnostic, but not anymore. I've accepted Christ, and it is the best thing ever. The peace and joy that it brings with it is truly something else. Keep listening to His voice and keep leaning in, He will lead you in the right way. Dont push Him away, just ask Him to reveal Himself. This were the verses that came to my mind: John 6: 37 New International Version All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. John 10: 27- 30 (New American Standard Bible 2020) My sheep listen to My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” Listen to His voice.😊
Former pagan myself. Attending mass for the first time made me itch from nerves. My first attendance took place on the 3rd Sunday of Lent and I didn't regret the decision. Hopefully you took that first step as well.
Fr. Casey, your story brought tears to my eyes. You seem like such an intelligent, giving priest. The Church is so blessed to have you as one of our annointed. God bless you!
Without the Jews/Israelites of Israel 🇮🇱 there wouldn’t be a Holy Roman Catholic Church. The Holy Land of the Chosen Ones is where Jesus was born, lived, died & resurrected from death. The day my life changed was at night. I was crying and felt i needed to change in every area of my life. I was frustrated and knew i had ancestral and generational strongholds which made me depressed and making unwise decisions. I fell to my knees and asked God to change me according to God's Will. Few days later i was delivered from evil spirits and felt peace come over me
You are really something else! I was ordained in 1996, and I also wear a habit, even though I am priest and brother. That is my most comfortable garment. But the ordination and faith is what makes you what you are, father! I too always enjoyed being a fryer before I was priest.
Fatheeer! I was crying watching this video of yours. 😭😭 I don't know. I am just very happy about your vocation and I pray that our Lord will continue to inspire you to extend your love and service to the church and to His people. All the best, Father Cole! I hope I could be as tough as you if I discern on my vocation when the time comes. GOD BLESS, Father Cole! Love and prayers from the Philippines! 🙏❤
This evening, one of our own young men is being ordained. Your video was a window into what our Creighton will experience. Little happy tears in my eyes. It is a tremendous blessing, YT - I live in Florida but will be able to 'attend' his ordination in Georgia.
My Brother (in Christ) - young enough to be my son - is now my Father (in Christ). Only in the Catholic Church... I am so happy for you. Thought this video might be getting posted privately and so I would miss it, but yay! Got to feel like I was there supporting you. Just so, so happy for you - and even happier for the Church. We badly need committed young priests, for you are the future on which our faith rests. So no pressure! I wish you innumerable blessings from God, warmest congratulations and huge thanks for all your work (past, present and future) from Scotland.
I think it is safe to say that all of us subscribers feel like we've been part of your journey and are extremely proud and happy. Congratulations from the Galapagos Islands, Father Casey!

To watch this just a week after serving at a mass where a 98 year old Franciscan priest who was celebrating his 70th year of being a priest is very cool
CONGRATS FR CASSEY "Gracious God, We lift up our beloved priest before you, Guide him with wisdom and grace, Grant him strength and courage in his ministry, May he be a beacon of light, A vessel of your love and mercy, As he serves your people with humility and devotion, May his words and actions reflect your truth, And may his heart be filled with your peace, Bless him, protect him, and uphold him, In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Amen."

Hello, I'm just curious, why did you leave the Catholic faith?
🙏

Amen

You are not talking about Human Being like us...God is a Supreme Being...
Congratulations father! greetings from the Philippines.
Congratulations Father. Soon will be your anniversary
Many blessings Fr. Casey, my son leaves to the seminary next month and watching this brought tears of happiness to my eyes. Wishing you all the best.
My prayers for you, and your son.
Martin Kaguima Thank you he is very happy at the seminary.
@@ericaoc471 I am possibly going into seminary this fall and I am excited, I believe there is much joy in doing Gods will and becoming a priest
Martin Kaguima we need good strong priest I will keep you in my prayers, may Gods calling be for you to serve. 🙏🏼
@@ericaoc471 thank you.. it is hard especially in this time of pandemic so many people need sacraments
"May God who has begun the good work in you, bring it to fulfillment."
Aaaw, a baby Friar, so cool! How amazing it is to be a part of a catholic clergy!
I remember when I was a kid, a priest from my hometown was ordained in our church. I was completely clueless on why he had to lay face down on the ground during the service.
Congratulations Fr Casey 💕🙏
Love from Malaysia 🇲🇾
‘Father’ Casey! Congratulations...extremely happy for you and blessed to have a priest like you serving the Catholic Church.

Wow! What a wonderful young man. I have no doubt he will an be important spiritual leader.
Congratulations are in order! God bless you Father. You're a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek!

Congratulations Fr God bless you I am from India Mangalore My nephew is a priest in Calcutta since 23 yrs and a grand nephew is in cemenary since five yrs only child of his parents waiting and praying for his Ordination
I went to the Steubenville Mid America Conference and on Saturday (2 days ago) during adoration God told me "I want you to serve me as a Priest ". For 5 years and 3 months I was discerning
Father, you are amazing at empowering women. Your ordination, overall, is amazing. I actually cried while watching. Thank you for being a priest. Congratulations.
It's sad that the focus during his ordination was not on Christ but on empowering women. Or at least this is what I understand from your message.
It scarry to give in but try and you won't be disappointed, because he will greet you with open arms!
God seeks you in ways He/She knows He/She can. He/She knows your heart. Keep listening to that draw. As He/She only wants a relationship with you 💕
I know you commented 5 months ago, but if you are still not sure : I was agnostic, but not anymore. I've accepted Christ, and it is the best thing ever. The peace and joy that it brings with it is truly something else. Keep listening to His voice and keep leaning in, He will lead you in the right way. Dont push Him away, just ask Him to reveal Himself.
This were the verses that came to my mind:
John 6: 37
New International Version
All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.
John 10: 27- 30 (New American Standard Bible 2020)
My sheep listen to My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”
Listen to His voice.😊
Former pagan myself. Attending mass for the first time made me itch from nerves. My first attendance took place on the 3rd Sunday of Lent and I didn't regret the decision. Hopefully you took that first step as well.
It took me reading acts to let him in
"Work of the Church." That said it all. Congratulations, brother, and many years of Spirit-filled blessings.
You are a priest forever!!
Praying for your strong vocation❤️
Fr. Casey, your story brought tears to my eyes. You seem like such an intelligent, giving priest. The Church is so blessed to have you as one of our annointed. God bless you!
Bravo Father, from a Jewish old dude!!!
Without the Jews/Israelites of Israel 🇮🇱 there wouldn’t be a Holy Roman Catholic Church. The Holy Land of the Chosen Ones is where Jesus was born, lived, died & resurrected from
death. Over 2,000 years ago, there were those who followed Jesus & those who didn’t. As is said in Catholic church ✝️ “Peace be with you!” As said in temple ✡️ “Shalom!” Amen! 🙏🏼
The day my life changed was at night. I was crying and felt i needed to change in every area of my life. I was frustrated and knew i had ancestral and generational strongholds which made me depressed and making unwise decisions. I fell to my knees and asked God to change me according to God's Will. Few days later i was delivered from evil spirits and felt peace come over me
Congratulations FATHER Casey! Prayers for you!
I remember how I felt during my Uncle's ordination. I wept tears of joy that I couldn't explain.
You are really something else! I was ordained in 1996, and I also wear a habit, even though I am priest and brother. That is my most comfortable garment. But the ordination and faith is what makes you what you are, father! I too always enjoyed being a fryer before I was priest.
Friar. Not fryer!
I realize that now that I read my reply again sometimes my phone tells me one thing and shows another after I’ve sent a message.

We lift up our beloved priest before you,
Guide him with wisdom and grace,
Grant him strength and courage in his ministry,
May he be a beacon of light,
A vessel of your love and mercy,
As he serves your people with humility and devotion,
May his words and actions reflect your truth,
And may his heart be filled with your peace,
