Sir, you are just the best. You solved my 2 days frustration within seconds watching your video. The column box was pre-checked yet the columns were not visible. light bulb for hidden element did not work for me either. Thank you.
You are most welcome, glad it helped. I've made 5 or 6 various videos addressing this very problem in different ways, here's a link to a playlist of 4 of them, you can learn to control revit better and understand how to unhide things that don't show when you snap them in place, here is the playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLOQj24WRxXmX5KwhxhCWn7e0roCNkdmxb Enjoy :)
thanks for this, but am still facing some problem. I have changed range of a column then it supposed to be change settings for all the other columns I am going to place. But here I have to change range settings for each and every column differently. Can you tell me how can I change settings at once ?
Hi. Yes I made this video around 3 years ago, so I know better now. Before you draw/place a column, under the toolbar panels there's a strip of properties for the column, you can set from where the height of the column starts and ends from there. You can do it from the properties menu too, when you set the level heights, check the top and bottom offsets too, you can add or minus numbers to make them taller and shorter. The problem happens because your view range from the plan view doesn't show from under the level that you're on, you can change the view range too and it will show you everything that's underneath the plan, including columns. If you would like me to make another quick video regarding this, let me know and I'll get on it.
UPDATED VIDEO: Here's a new video showing you exactly WHY your columns don't show and how you can solve the problem for every column in one go without having to do it again and again. Link the new video is here: ruclips.net/video/7BrcYt06EbI/видео.html
Hello, I have a few videos compiled in a playlist which will help you to understand the problem and correct it, here is the playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLOQj24WRxXmX5KwhxhCWn7e0roCNkdmxb
So basically you showed nothing in this video. Summary is: if I want my one story building's colums showing, I should extend them one more story up... Useless
Well, the video is short for your convenience. It works too. I had some issues with this while learning revit years ago and usually I create a video to remember some things I had difficulty with, if it helps someone then thats good too
