Thanks Balkan, and to make it even easier you can enter cost directly in the schedule, and that will update type properties automatically and fill all cells of the same type in the schedule
Thanks Balkan, Great video! I wanted to know if there is a way to calculate the cost each layer of a wall or roof separately, Let's say I want to know how much does the interior finishings cost, the bricks and exterior finishings. Can you do it on revit?
You taught me well, sir can you show me how to get whole building construction estimation cost at a time means walls, doors, windows, elevation, gates, wash basin, toilets, floor tiles etc at a time
Hi! Maybe you can show us how to draw the terrain before (dashed) and after the construction in the views and and in the sections. In addition, it would be interesting how you can draw and calculate the construction pit excavation and backfilling? Thanks!
Paul Vadasz it is easy - use phases of the construction, set the old terrain to "demolish in new construction" . And there you have option to show all, and demolished part will be shown in dashed lines.
Great again. In conjunction with your "Phasing" video... I'm wondering if there is a way to cost up the "demolition" works without creating a separate "Demolition" Phase?
Thanks Balkans Architect. I enjoyed watching it. I did not why we r adding cost of each building component. It is not so correct. I agree for some common building element we can edit the cost. But for lay mans term how is possible to enter cost of one wall type??
Dear sir can we make a cost schedule in a logical and detailed manner. I mean to say a schedule which is according to execution of the building. First excavation then anti termite spry and up to RCC slab level?
Hi, thanks. is it posible to make a list /table that adds up all the cost you calculated to get a grand total for all.. so if you add / or delete some walls, windows, roof or anything else, that it shows up in the grand total? .. take good care
WELL I HAVE A QUESTION.. THE WAY I DO THE CALCULATION IS LIKE THIS... AREA COLUMN CHB PCS COLUMN= AREA OF WALL/ AREA OF CHB TOTAL COST COLUMN= CHB PCS X COST PER CHB THEN A SEPARATE COLUMN WILL BE CREATED FOR THE CONCRETE POUR ON HOW MANY BAGS OF CEMENT, SAND AND GRAVEL THIS IS HOW I CALCULATE THE WALL PRICE THE COST FOR THE LABOR WILL BE SEPARATED ON A DAILY BASIS AND IS NOT INCLUDED ON THE COST ESTIMATE ON HOW LONG THEY WILL FINISH THE WALL IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS?
In the US we have books to derive cost per sf (including labor) such as RS Means or The Guide. Using the system Balkan Architect showed, we could input this cost/area knowledge (concrete and steel requires engineer specified drawings) and have a pretty good system. My office doesn't use Revit models to derive cost estimates because there are too many exceptions that Revit wouldn't pick up and high risk of human error. We still would have to bring the information from Revit to an excel file. So we use more simple software like Bluebeam Revu
when you dont select category(leaving it on multicategory) on schedule creation dialog window, will all the items, that arent included on the categories of schedules which you created before, be added into multicategory schedule?
As far as I understand the program, in this case it will bring up all the family's like the doors and windows, and it will avoid system family's like floors, walls and roofs... but I may be wrong on that, I'm learning this my self as I go :)
Can we calculate the total of all project? Door+wall+wall material... And, on some government project, we need percentage of total cost. how can we use percentage?
May I ask why not use sigma to calculate building cost ? You can make Sigma as an add on and it will tell you the cost and work time and so on ? Sigma have collected prices for many years and in Denmark it gives a good estimater.. I like your vids btw.
Greetings for the day Balkan, Thankyou forsuch informative video. I majorly deal into MEP service's and would like to know that will y cost will be cost/running meters for duct or pipe? Also for formulation why we need to divide it by 1? thankyou once again Cheers!!!

Balkan Architect area of ceramic flooring come equal either i place a wall as partition or not. Do u have any solution . Moreover in section bottom of wall shows it connect with slab and cut the finishing floor but im 3D its show void b/w slab and wall bottom. If u have a solution plz let me show.
Hi I've been a subscriber since i was in college, can you do a detailed estimate on revit? I.e. for masonry wall (chb, no. of steel bar, no. Of cement bag, volume of sand?
You are better off if you ask a local builder about that. It may differ between different countries. We normally calculate with 1000kg sand and 250kg cement for 1000 standard brick.
You've taught me more than my uni man, thank you!
Thanks Balkan, and to make it even easier you can enter cost directly in the schedule, and that will update type properties automatically and fill all cells of the same type in the schedule
That was sooo helpful! Thank you so much, you are better than all of my teachers :D :)
Thank you for a kind comment! :D
Always top... you certainly is a reference to me when I've any uncertainty!! Thanks man!!!
THANK YOU SIR.I AM A CIVIL ENGINEER AND I REALLY LEARNED SO MUCH FROM YOU.THANK YOU AGAIN.🌹

there is a add-in to quatify by parts, type or materials. it name is Qex
Thank you so much. I am learning how to teach Revit and your channel is perfect for that. You gained a subscriber.
Didn't realize you could enter costing into REVIT. Good to know.
Thank you Sir👍
one word: fantastic

Your tutorials are short and sweet and so much informative..
Yes revit 2019 will be a topic of some new videos :)
brother you made my lifr easy for REVIT Thanks... make video for MEP also plz
Check out the channel learning with rich for mep and structure tutorial. For architecture, you wont find anyone better than Balkan architect
Thanks Balkan, Great video! I wanted to know if there is a way to calculate the cost each layer of a wall or roof separately, Let's say I want to know how much does the interior finishings cost, the bricks and exterior finishings. Can you do it on revit?

thanks you are very good
Nice video and prices!)
good videos thx
How do you sum up all the cost. like sum up the Floor, Wall, windows, door and roof? (the cost of the entire building)
i really want to learn this too :( but can't find any tutorial for this :(
Thanks Balkans Architect.
Please make a video on phases and design option tool in revit.
Will do, thanks for the recommendation!
Hi, thanks. is it posible to make a list /table that adds up all the cost you calculated to get a grand total for all.. so if you add / or delete some walls, windows, roof

make a video on door and windows schedule with dimensions and door tag how to do it ??
Can we get the quantity of sand, cement, gravel and cement blocks for walls using revit?
do you have for furniture calculation cost?
I would rather fill the cost in the schedule itself as it's more efficient than editting the type to enter the cost of each
WELL I HAVE A QUESTION.. THE WAY I DO THE CALCULATION IS LIKE THIS...
AREA COLUMN
CHB PCS COLUMN= AREA OF WALL/ AREA OF CHB
TOTAL COST COLUMN= CHB PCS X COST PER CHB
THEN A SEPARATE COLUMN WILL BE CREATED FOR THE CONCRETE POUR ON HOW MANY BAGS OF CEMENT, SAND AND GRAVEL
THIS IS HOW I CALCULATE THE WALL PRICE
THE COST FOR THE LABOR WILL BE SEPARATED ON A DAILY BASIS AND IS NOT INCLUDED ON THE COST ESTIMATE ON HOW LONG THEY WILL FINISH THE WALL
IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS?
Hi, Is it possible to add a new currency format in this unit?
Is there any option for cement or concrete and steel !
What about Indian currency
You can change the currency in project unit
Material takeoff (that I show in the beginning of the video can calculate that but I don't use it 'cause it is hard to add the labor costs that way
In the US we have books to derive cost per sf (including labor) such as RS Means or The Guide. is your name Balkan or, you are from Balkan?
greetings from Albania, you are a great tutor!! 😁😁
hi, thanks for a great video. How can i find the total cost pr meter? length * cost?
when you dont select category(leaving it on multicategory) on schedule creation dialog window, will all the items, that arent included on the categories of schedules which you created before, be added into multicategory schedule?
As far as I understand the program, in this case it will bring up all the family's like the doors and windows, and it will avoid system family's like floors, walls and roofs... but I may be wrong on that, I'm learning this my self as I go :)
i see.. and we re learning together via your videos :)
sir, can u tell me wat s the different b/w schedukes /quantites and material takeoff ?
Can we calculate the total of all project? Door+wall+wall material... And, on some government project, we need percentage of total cost. how can we use percentage?
if i added a material to a floor how can i add its cost , should i change it from the material it self or what.
?how can i make a schedule for painted parts of walls and floors
in your page do have more tutorial over infra projects and instalations and how can links revit with database?
Is it possible to do a cost estimation by each room?
Bro which revit version is best
thank nice vedio
hey Balkan , greeting from INDIA please upload tutorial for civil engineer
Really Need help with making symbols and connecting them to tags with appropriate properties.
May I ask why not use sigma to calculate building cost ? You can make Sigma as an add on and it will tell you the cost and work time and so on ? Sigma have collected prices for many years and in Denmark it gives a good estimater.. I like your vids btw.
How can i get your revit library?
Where i can download this library
How to find cement in revit ?~??
Thank you very much for this.
Quick one. How do you go about calculating Lintels and roof beams? It isn't listed in the Schedules. Any suggestions?
create a new parameter
how can we but them all together in one table?
Sir why are written...cost option 70?and 100?
Liked and subscribed.
Greetings for the day Balkan,
Thankyou forsuch informative video.
I majorly deal into MEP service's and would like to know that will y cost will be cost/running meters for duct or pipe?
Also for formulation why we need to divide it by 1?
thankyou once again
Cheers!!!
he divided by 1 because he is not good at math
How to change currency from dollar to MAD
When you add the amount in the cost section for walls and roofs, does revit always consider it as Sqm? or is there any formular we need to to add?
if your project is built in Sq ft then it will calculate respectively in Sq.ft..

How could we find the amount of ceramic tiles of flooring by part method in the presence of a block wall.
I guess you need to divide the total wall area by the area of a single tile
Balkan Architect area of ceramic flooring come equal either i place a wall as partition or not. Do u have any solution . Moreover in section bottom of wall shows it connect with slab and cut the finishing floor but im 3D its show void b/w slab and wall bottom. If u have a solution plz let me show.
For area of wall and floor tiles I think it is easier to take from room schedule

king king king
Just a question, How may I print the cost list?
Just place all of your schedules on a sheet and print
What about labor costs Balkan?
Labor cost is included in the square meter cost
I really want you to make a udemy course on revit . Please do that. It would be a great favour.
I already have a website for courses, to learn more check this out: ruclips.net/video/4cu8RcZcMHY/видео.html
Why did you divide it by 1? You didn't explain properly.
because he is not good at math
Where are you from ?
Belgrade, Serbia! how about you?
