It's so refreshing to see a metal band get HEAVIER! It's so common for bands to lighten up with time; however, ABR has delivered with their heaviest release since 07/09 depending on who you talk to haha. That ending breakdown will kill live. I get goosebumps every time I hear it.

I only recently started getting into these guys, and I swear, every single time a song on this album ends, I think to myself "That's definitely one of my favorites" o.O That doesn't happen much with me so I am impressed. :D
Monica LW lol I saw your review of the new Red songs when I was searching for it, cool to see you listening to ABR. This album is like 'Rescue and Restore' and 'Messengers' combined, you should def give it a listen. "Rescue and Restore" is now my second favorite album after this one O.O (listen to the song Echoes, it's beautiful) and if you want more heavy listen to Messengers.
Cool! Yeah, the only ABR albums I've heard so far are this one and Constellations. They are definitely a good band! I will check out more of their stuff at some point. :)

Avik Chatterjee depends on what you like. For me the whole album is way too soft. I still like Back Burner. This song right here is really good tho
+ACIV Babeli I was actually stressing on the intricate song structures . if you like it hard then sky is not even the limit . for example,martyr defiled's at the throne of salem. but definitely abr is not proggy. still they retain their metalcore signature. that's what I mean to say . anyway thank mate for communicating .

I think Parkway Drive and Killswitch Engage can hold their own.
Really, a few songs are softer but overall I think this is their heaviest since Constellations with a strong Messengers feeling. Really digging the heaviness of most songs on this album.
Love coming back to this song. The lyrics are amazing. Hard to choose but probably my favorite song from them.

True, the buildup to that one is pretty sick. There are already so many memorable moments on this album for me, and it hasn't even been out for 12 hours yet haha
David Marsh thats just a harder breakdown of the earlier one during the song. this one is just.. jesus..
Roger Rabbit I like the one in Generations better because of the speed and buildup to it. This one just sounds like an early 2000's breakdown from any generic metalcore band.
David Marsh I see what you mean. Lots of other bands have used and abused the whole "pause, scream a quote, then go right into a breakdown" method, and it can be very predictable. But I think on this song it comes completely out of left field because we almost never hear it from them. And the way Jake screams "yeah" just adds all new layers of power here. I dunno, I just really dig it haha. But the Generations one is sick too.

ya alex I agree about phinehas . they are another of my favourite bands . and love architects or make them suffer too . but among all these bands I think abr to be the most consistent. mostly because their heaviness is not for heaviness' sake . that comes easy like a plane landing or something to a mellow but complex ground only to get ready for a flight again . and again all the other bands mentioned are so damn good too. thanx bro . we need this kinda music.
This is my favorite song on the album, for sure.
There are some really gripping and spellbinding intros out there in metalcore, but this takes the cake.
By far the best song off this album. Great work guys keep kicking ass and don't change your style for anyone. So many bands have lost my interest for changing there style and for what? You guys will continue to be my favorite band for simply not giving in to any "cleaner" influences, this is metal, let's keep it metal 🤘ABR!

Caught Wet I don't think so, I love KSE, but they have never had the song writing ability of ABR.
I'd say the top contenders are Veil of Maya and Currents, but they don't come close.

Wow. This is just awesome this is the sound I'd been hoping you'd evolve into. Heavy and experimental but in a tasteful and badass way. The main gripes I've has for the past 3 albums were: production sounding thinner, vocals deteriorating and too schizophrenic sounding. I love them don't get me wrong. But this sounds like you've REALLY come into your own. Amazing job.
