I have to say, a lot of these guys remind me of people I knew who had never gotten into a fight. It's honestly amazing how much getting absolutely rocked by a jab to the face changes your entire outlook.

These same right wingers who fetishize violence actually believe it's good for boys to get into fistfights to build character, and will often talk about the merits of physical altercations. I've heard Sargon and John Doyle say things to this effect. You can tell they've never been in a fight in their lives.
No, constantly getting into fights is not a good thing, nor is it something you should be spoiling for every waking moment. It takes a special kind of paranoid ass to perceive everyone as a potential opponent, which tends to become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Fighting is an absolute last resort as an act of self-defense, when you can't talk your way out of it, and can't run away. Hospitals and graveyards are full of people who don't know how to walk away from a fight.

See here's the thing. The guy talking about "wolves" has fundamentally misunderstood what that whole "sheep, sheepdogs, and wolves" thing meant. I mean, it's a dubious thing to begin with, so take that philosophy with a grain of salt, but by calling themselves wolves, they're calling themselves predators. They're calling themselves the outside force that's looking to do harm to the everyday person. However, I'm sure that he (and others who share his mentality) probably think of themselves as sheepdogs, protecting the sheeple who don't know any better. However, I do think wolves is more apt, so I won't try to correct him. It's just an interesting observation.

I've got it set up so the front is kind of lukewarm stuff (Alex Vitale, Angela Davis, stuff like Shock Doctrine or People's History of the US) but in the back is the hardcore stuff (Lenin, Marx, Stalin, Haywood, Hakim Adi, Upton Sanclair). My conservative black grandma (who I love very much) pops in every now and then and she knows I'm a leftist but she doesn't know that im a full on anarcho-communist. Most of my family don't, I dream one day of telling them and seeing the outrage that spawns. I probably will to someday, just maybe not to my granny lol.

We have to be honest here, the definition of Democracy according to conservatives is rule by the majority without fair representation of all people. It's inherent that they don't want any freedom for America's minorities, that's their version of Democracy.
The disingenuous aspect of it is that Conservatives pass off their version of Democracy as nonracist and nondiscriminative, see it is only when social minorities fill their "stereotype" and subjugate themselves to the Conservative agenda. You can't "come as you are" because they'll otherwise think a black man in a hoodie is a robber.
It's difficult to initiate a conversation with these folks unless you sweeten them up with a "F_ck Joe Biden, amiright?" or wear a red hat, otherwise if it's a captive audience like your co-workers (and in most cases, we are the captive audience as they go on about how "these minorities are taking away our Democracy").
