    I think that quote by your dad in the movie really hit me the hardest. As a parent, we want the best for our kids and we want them to be happy, to know that our kids have friends, and feel like they belong. You just wanted to participate and play with the other kids like anyone else at the school and that parent was saying you didn’t deserve that chance. I know sports parents can be too invested, even more that the kids, but it’s sad when they take things to that level.

    Mr. Ferraro is a bigger man than me.
    I wouldnt have been able to hold back on that guy, and I feel bad for his son that was wrestling. That type of person _shouldn’t_ be a parent

    You have the unfair advantage because your heightened sense of feel/touch.
    That is some excuse. You're just the better athlete and that's sad he would would have jealousy in his heart instead of being respectful to you. If his son had the determination you had maybe he could have won. Proud of you bubba!
    If my son was in the other kids position I would be proud of you because I know my son would be a tough egg to crack. Not winning shouldn't make you feel ashamed or lacking.

    The only advantage I see is Anthony has learnt how to overcome life ruining obstacles when most of people go their entire lives without ever experiencing it. It’s definitely not unfair and it’s an advantage we can all achieve given commitment. What a sad parent, why should he have competed in the special event when he’s good enough to compete at the top of the sport?!

    The opponent's dad calling this an "unfair advantage" is really silly, in my opinion. Yeah, sometimes someone with a disability might be able to do things in a certain way very skillfully. But usually our methods aren't things that others cannot learn, it's just that we often learn to do things our way because we have no other choice. You learned to wrestle by using your own preferred sensory queues, I would think, and your opponent learned by using his preferences too. He can probably learn to do things the way you do them, he just never did because he has other options available. And there's nothing wrong with either of your methods, you are both just fitting into the skill niche that works for you. At the end of the day the best competitor won, and your opponent seems to have been pretty chill about it. His dad was the one that had the issue with it, and while I don't approve of him behaving immaturely like that I do hope he grows as a person. You're doing some awesome stuff in life and you seem super cool, and as a disabled (but not blind) person myself, you kind of make me feel more at peace with the fact that at the end of the day, I gotta do things the way it works for me. And that might be different from the average person's methods, but that's alright. I should be kinder to myself for doing things the way that works for me, I might get a lot further in life without putting unnecessary pressure on myself to be a certain way. One love, dude ♡

    wow.the kid was nice,but the father..not so much.
    you had to learn to adapt to your reality as a blind person.
    and if you didn't say anything,most would have no clue.
    you do things better than many sighted people.
    I know what it's like to have a disability.
    I'm deaf,but most don't realize.

    If you watch the documentary, you'll see he was actually given an unfair advantage because the opposing player was asked to keep a hand on Anthony to make sure he knew where he was. That's not something you'd typically do in high school wrestling.

    • @RiveBassCovers
      @RiveBassCovers 2 года назад +1

      Not really an unfair advantage, he was blind. If anything they accommodated to his need. It’s not Anthony’s fault he was the overall better athlete in the end

    • @Asfvision
      @Asfvision  2 года назад

      Actually it’s in the high school rule book for blind wrestlers. The fact you think I had an unfair advantage is classic. One love anyway
