      TheCoolKid check out a book called “remembering the kanji” by James Heisig. I was very intimidated by kanji, but I’ve learned 100/week with that book where I can actually write them from memory with only an English word to go on. There are free versions of flash cards for that book here: www.polarcloud.com/kanji but you’ll probably want to make your own and you’ll need the book to learn how to learn. It feels awesome to finally learn kanji after fearing them for so long. But learning them is very different than I expected. Hope this helps ;)

    • @gemgem24able
      @gemgem24able 3 года назад +2

      @@jkenfore another option is Kodansha Kanji Learner's Course. It includes readings and vocabulary, too. I like the order the book taught the kanji. The mnemonics also encourage you to see the meaning in the kanji as a pictograph instead of using abstract phrases.
      Not saying it's better though. Both are good and work for different kinds of people. Just commenting it in here in case someone wanting to learn Kanji sees this comment.

    Native English speaker here that speaks Korean as a second language and is learning Spanish - have any other polyglots noticed that the translations are not the same in each language? There are a few words that I saw the different translations and there were differences in how they were translated. Is it because a translator was used or are there multiple meanings to words that I just don't know? Things to look into, I suppose.
    Regardless, watching this master write is an absolute joy and I'm glad these videos exist!
