Grate video mate I’m 16 and just about to get my first 2 working jills I loved you’re ferret video when u was telling everyone about the dose and do nots about them it was very helpful grate video 👍🏼
Just subbed pal I shoot; but I'm getting drawn into this ferret and terrier stuff, looks really interesting. There's another channel 'Fur Feather & Fin' that I've also started to watch, a young bloke out with his old fella a lot. He flys the birds too, a hawk. Lol... reading the comments, you've got plenty of 'experts' telling you what you 'need' to do... it's the same with shooting 😂 always somebody sat in a chair at home telling the lad in the field what he's doing wrong 😂. Take care fella.👍
Aww the ferrets are so cute, they do a good job. I do like hunting with mink just a little bit more tho, the mink are brutal but ferrets are good too. Cool vid
@@ruralpestcontrol yea I'm in the states so the mink hunting is more a thing here but yea their bites are no joke and I also would not like to be on the biting end lol
@@ruralpestcontrol Yea ferrets are more docile whereas minks were never domesticated as pets. Definitely not for the uncommitted but I think they can be just as fulfilling as a hunting companion maybe even more so because they're a more efficient hunter than a ferret, being that they're still wild animals but yea if you're just wanting a pet the ferret is definitely the way to go, they're much easier to handle and a lot less work. I had a cutie when I was a kid and she was a wonderful pet, shame she only lived for 7 yrs but that's pretty normal for them 😞, never took her hunting tho. Very interesting. I'd definitely think about getting another ferret. I love all the mustelids really, always have. Fascinating creatures.
enjoyed the video, not trying to tell you how to do your job but i would of split that 100yds of long net with a few stop nets ,stops the rabbits running the full length of the hedge hole hopping
Just mentioned you in a comment on the holistic ferret Facebook page because someone posted a ferreting haul and I’m so jealous of you all for being able to do this. 😭 My inbred Marshall ferrets (I’m from the US) could never. 😩 (I love them dearly though.)
@@ruralpestcontrol Yeah it’s a closed group but with your feeding you should be able to fit in no problem. 💛 But Marshall’s is sad. I love my boys so much. But I’m just waiting for inevitable adrenal problems. :( Will get the implant as soon and we can commit financially. Xx

yeah its about 3 or 4 foot long. I've had it about 20 years lol I bought it from a agriculture hardware store in malton called yates. best spade I've ever had 👍
Does anyone eat the rabbits? Having watched some videos I see the ferrets seem to get the killing done quickly. It looked so barbaric to me, but poison must be pretty awful.
@@gabbirae7274 ferrets don't tend to kill them. They basically scare the rabbit out of it warren into a net. Once caught in the net the rabbit is dispatched by either it's neck broke or a blow to the back of its head. If a ferret does kill a rabbit it's usually because the rabbit refuses to leave the warren and I don't dig it out in time. All rabbits that are caught, are eaten by my ferrets or sold to a butcher, none are wasted. I have a large chest freezer to keep them in.

There's very little rabbits around here, more hares now. We have a lot more buzzards and kites than there's ever been to. I've packed in with the ferrets now. Not been out with them for 3 years this December.

They will search up to 16 feet in all directions.

Waste of time long netting hedge rows mate they just run along the hedge and go back down another hole most of the time so i always purse net hedges
