    Fabio, i fkin love you dude! This is absolutely insane! 5800x + 7900XTX user here, playing 4k resolution. The only game where i had huge problems with stuttering was Farming Simulator 2022, in Silverrun Forrest Map especially where there were lots and lots of trees. Couldn't get past 60 fps no matter what, with drops to 30 happening a lot, CPU hovering at 20% use, GPU usage never going over 60%, it was unplayable and i couldn't understand why since FS22 is a shitty game, poorly optimized indeed but still... So I disabled core isolation and the FPS on that map jumped to 120. Double than before! And it's a joy to play now. I can't believe it! You made my day sir and you made me love my AMD setup again. Thank you Fabio!

    What a legend! Can confirm turning off memory integrity checking gave me at least a 6-7% increase in max fps potential on a heavily modded cyberpunk on my 7800x3d/4090 combo, but the real winner here is not the max/avg fps, it's the 1% lows and stutter reduction. Capping my fps to 60 used to still give me stutters in specific areas and scenarios, those are almost completely gone and my frame time graph is a thing of beauty now!

      Windows 11 required TPM and virtualization and it was tanking performance in games. They also had issues with Ryzen. I LOVE YOU. I am so happy I stumbled upon this video. Linus Tech Tips needs to hear about this and popularize this, my FPS went up by 100. I feel like if I just got a new pc. I remember, when I first got my PC I had 400-500+ FPS in range in valorant, but after a while I had only 300. Turns out it was bc of virtualization, as I installed Visual Studio Code for schoolwork, which needed virtualization. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!

    Ty Fabio,here is another tip to get more fps go to start,click device manager,click system devices,click high precision event timer and disable,restart,6 out of 10 games you will see better numbers this works well on W10, I tried it on w11 too but the performance increase is moving to the statistical error without this meaning that there won't be games that benefit from the newest operating system,in general those who play games, disable virtualization, high precision event timer, set priority above normal or high and you will see an increase in performance.

    You know what would also help? If developers actually optimized their games. No, seriously. Computers get faster and faster and devs get lazier and lazier with bloat, thinking the extra memory and stuff will take care of it. Computers are the fastest they've ever been and what's the trending feature people want to use and have supported? Downscaling their game and playing at a lower resolution and masking it with AI upscaling. Computers are really powerful, we should be able to use native resolutions with little to no issues. The fact that expensive RTX supercomputers nowadays sometimes have to go as low as 720p (and again, masking it by upscale it) to get stable framerates is really saddening.
    That's probably why games are hundreds of GB, because of tons of HUGE, uncompressed textures and high-poly assets that are that way just for the sake of fidelity, even though you could get the exact same results with less.
    All the shaders, material and model features in game engines that we've had for the past decade or so are specifically-designed so that we don't HAVE to be so extreme with our detail. Like instead of modeling the individual pores of someone's face, using normal maps, smooth shading, and optimized lighting techniques to get the same thing so the computer doesn't have to work as hard. Or instead of dynamically raytracing the entire map, using baked pre-rendered lighting that has everything already calculated ahead of time. That sorta stuff.
    Forza Horizon 4 is a great example. It's super photorealistic, yet optimized SO well that my mid-range PC can max it with no issues at all. Lighting techniques, models and shaders are detailed yet do it in a way that doesn't melt your computer by using as many efficient techniques as possible and getting rid of any unnecessary bloat. Meanwhile some games today are equal in visual quality, or sometimes even worse, yet run like hot garbage because everything's so unnecessarily computational.

      Much the same here, the most I use is 1.1.1.2 DNS resolving, because it blocks mal sites, and a firewall using portmaster. Can't get viruses if the places that have them are blocked, along with me just not being an idiot when downloading, clicking, or visiting sites. Plus portmaster blocks specific CDNs of common sites, programs, etc. So it's good for being a system wide adblock. (and when not on windows, well then nobara linux be doing the job just fine) (as for windows changing your settings and such, id recommend checking out christitustech and his windows debloat program, as well as O&O shut up to get windows to stop calling home and making changes so often) Yeah doing all these little config changes is why I barely touch windows now, too much work.

    • @DrunkenJoeh
      @DrunkenJoeh 6 месяцев назад +3

      I wouldn't say it's enabled for absolutely no reason.
      What core isolation does is that it divides important processes in the PC's memory. Now where this plays a big part is in security, by isolating important pc memory processes malicious code has harder time spreading through your pc.
      Good security is like a good psu, you don't want to skip on it. I'd say that a small performance hit is always better than having your PC being infected as hackers have been getting quite creative and the issues may be coming from things you can't quite affect or expect, like the case with Apex Legends getting hacked and spreading malware.

    • @EricPlayZ132
      @EricPlayZ132 6 месяцев назад

      @@DrunkenJoeh If you want security, use virtual machines on Linux and isolate your gaming environment from anything else. But that's not feasible for most people because of their specs.
      My point is, Windows has absolutely nothing to do with security. Malware can easily get past Windows Defender, and even with Core Isolation turned on, you can't do anything about it. I have done some RAT work myself and I can get past most AVs lmao. A digital signature is enough to stop the AVs from raising suspicion, and a RAT done properly that uses exploits to leverage permissions will be unstoppable by Defender.
      TL;DR, all Windows does is slow down your PC for the sake of saying it's protecting your PC. Sure it may protect you from regular malware, but that's the user's fault and if you're smart about the sources you download from and what you run on your computer, you don't need any protection. What we need protection from is exploits. Those need patches done by Microsoft, not Windows Defender or Core Isolation.
