Omg!! THANK YOU!!! This video made it a breeze to reverse the door. The printed manual made me avoid doing this for over a year! It took tops 15 minutes to get this done. Kuddos!
One of the best how-to videos I've ever seen. I'm a little perturbed my wife paid $15 in advance for delivery guys to do this but after seeing this video I guess I'll just leave it be.
I didnt know I could pay the delivery guys $15 to change the door, a bargain! I'm sure it would cost me more now 2 years later and the charge of getting them out here, also!
Just received my 7800 set. The Home Depot delivery guys said they wouldn't reverse the door because it'd take too much time. So I kept my $40 tip. I'll attempt to do it myself, using this video. Thank you so much LG.
Excellent video! My son decided to refill a fabric softener bottle on top of the dryer... it didn't go well. Most of it went down the front, and inside the door (it was streaking down the inside of the glass). The video showed me exactly which screws needed to be removed to get inside and clean it up. He's banned from the laundry room for a week!
Great video, with one caveat: at 2:26 the caption says, "The components are now reversed." Except they aren't 🤔. The caption then changes to read, "Pause the video to double check your setup if necessary." Except if you use the video frame here to check your work, you will get it wrong 😱because the video frame shows the hardware as it comes from the factory with the hinges on the right and latch on the left. Maybe this explains why our delivery guy had such a hard time. He assured us he could reverse the door, then spent 2 1/2 hours in the laundry room alternately looking at the video on his phone and running his impact driver(😧). When he finished most of the screws holding the door cover in place were stripped, as were three of the four hinge screws. The fourth was missing entirely. The dealer ordered us a new door, which I reversed myself and it wasn't too difficult to do a proper job of it thanks to this video. I had to buy new hinge screws, but that wasn't difficult as they are standard metric sizes that are readily available at our local hardware store.
This was an outstanding video. The instructions that came with the dryer were not helpful at all. This video clearly walked me through each step. It took a bit of time but I did it, and there were no extra parts left over. Thank you!
Thank you for this video! It’s very detailed, it took me about an hour but because my kids kept coming in to ask me questions. Thanks for showing us how to do it.
Really well done video, clear and easy to follow. My one thought is that it should be made clear that regarding the four door hinge screws... The two LONG screws go on the TOP hinge and the two SHORT screws go on the bottom hinge. Thanks for posting these videos.
I noticed the different screws as well. I just made a mental note of that when I took them out. Other than that, this video was exceptionally clear and precise!

It took me about an hour as well. I had one problem with the video. At around 2:28-2:30 when it was time to double check my setup, the video had the bottom latches already swapped, but not the top and middle ones. In fact, the video had already shown these parts being swapped earlier, so that was confusing. Other than that, I was able to reverse my door.
I agree this was an excellent video. With that said, it took me about three hours. First problem I encountered was the hinge screws were so tight it took a lot of effort and a good screw driver to loosen them. I completed the directions and put the door back on. The next problem was the top latch was not catching so I could only open the top hamper door. When you pulled on the side, it opened from the top. I had to remove all the inside door screws with door attached to dryer to jiggle the inside locks to finally get it to open on the side. I took inside cover off again, played with the side lock rod and top lock rod. I put the door back on the machine. At first I had the same problem, but after loosing some screws and more jiggling, it seems to have fixed itself.
Awesome video..perfect guidance and solution! I read the manual twice, but the drawings were not very helpful. This video solved everything. Thank you!
Thank you for the step by step video! Worked great for me and I finally have my for serving open the way I want. Only mishap I had was the clips on one of the plastic covers broke off while I was removing it so it won't go back on. It's a non essential part so I'm not too worried about. Thank again!

Good video, one issue though when the door is apart three small plugs are resting on the rods, and they become dislodged but not all are identical. You should review the placement of each prior to the final part of putting the door cover back on :/
I’m so sad! I followed the directions just like they said. Got the door put back on and now it won’t open to the side. It will only open from the top. And, I can’t redo it because the only way to get the screws off is for the door to open from the side. Can anyone out there offer some advice for me? 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you so very much for this video, it really helped. Just two minor issues, since my drier does not 100% matxh the drierin the video, I had to figure out the two inner components which where different, as to how to reverse and fit for my drier.
@lgusa - I only used my dryer less than 20 times before I swapped the door. On the bottom right hinge attached to the washer, which was moved to the bottom left side, the screw holding the door to that hinge was rusted and snapped in half inside the hinge. Where can I purchase a new hinge/screws?
HELP- I accidentally unscrewed 2 of the 8 screws that weren’t supposed to be unscrewed and my thread panel fell down inside my dryer! Is there anyway to get that out?
Perfect video! The only problem I had was the first two screws that had to be swapped (sides) went into holes that were never used before and screws wouldn’t go in. So they wouldn’t strip I got a screw slightly larger and screwed it in a couple times at an angle and then the provided screws went in tight.
What size screw did you get to replace them?? This is the problem I’m running into. The left side hinge screw holes are not the same size as the right side hinge screw holes
I appreciated the instructions, but you stopped at the door alignment. My side opening needs to be tweaked slightly, and I don't have that information.
Before I found this video, I attempted to do this by following the instruction manual, which is vague at best. I now have all the parts on the machine reversed, however is there a diagram that shows what screws go where exactly on the door? I have evidently mixed some screws up. Some appear smaller, shorter, or pointy, and I’m not certain where exactly they go. I know I should’ve paid closer attention when taking it apart! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Quick question , hinge bracket is no longer making contact to machine. And quick fixes? Only makes contact if I use pressure when using open hamper wise.
When you pause to the show that the components are all reverse you really throw me for a loop because you're showing the first screen before you actually reverse them... Am I wrong?
I'm looking for a replacement for the nylon slide lock rod, and the parts lists I've found doesn't have a part number for it. Hey there! Before we check the door light, let's make sure a few things are working properly. 1. Check the power connection: Ensure that the power cord connections at the back of the dryer and at the electrical outlet are secure. 2. Check the circuit breaker: Turn off the circuit breaker for the dryer, wait for five seconds, and then turn it back on. Note that gas units usually have a single circuit breaker, while electric units use two. 3. Check the drum light: Open the dryer and see if the drum light inside is on. If the light is off, it may indicate a power issue. 4. Perform a hard reset: Unplug the dryer and make sure any power outlets controlled by light switches are turned on. While the dryer is unplugged, press and hold the power button for five seconds, then hold down the start/pause button for another five seconds. Plug the dryer back in and check if the light and the dryer come back on. If you have questions after running through these steps, please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport. 1:45 that screw on our model, same as the one in the video, was screwed in so tight it was not removable. Even using power tools it was not removable. Unbelievable why any assembly would tighten a screw that goddamn tight that is part of a set of pieces labeled as reversible. Had to put everything back the way it was so no, the door was not reversible. Very dissatisfied.
Hey there. We wish you could've had a better experience with your LG dryer. Sometimes, using a manual screwdriver can provide better control and leverage compared to power tools. To loosen a tight screw, first use a manual screwdriver, turning it counterclockwise with steady pressure. If that doesn't work, apply a small amount of lubricant like WD-40, wait a few minutes for it to penetrate, and then try loosening the screw again with the screwdriver. This plastic opening rod stuff is very important. They should have zoomed in more or pointed out exactly where all the pieces have to be. It’s a complex hinge opening with plastic parts. 5:30

You really have to slam the top shut to re-engage the top hinge. Otherwise it won't open from the side again.
