I usually spray just a mist of enamel thinner over the washes and give it about 5 minutes to set. It is much easier to clean the dried up washes after. HTH.
I really like your work especially when you do the black basing. My question is off this video but I would really appreciate your input. I am going to be building a PBY-5 Catalina and want to use black basing. The under color is a flat gull gray and intermediate blue on top. My question is should I do the splotches in these colors or do variations of the colors before the final light build up of the gray and blue? Thank you for your inspiration and I hope you can find the time to answer my questions.
I’m trying to refine my order of weathering effects, and I’m on the fence about doing a pinwash before oils... the oil can get down into the panel lines and obscure the contrast, and it can be challenging to get it out without destroying the pinwash.
I really like your work. Your artistic ability is light years ahead of mine and I learn much from your videos. Thank you.
Thanks, Matt! That's really inspirational
Nice work, thanks for sharing!!

Being a weathering-fairly-newby I found this very informative and usefull. I only thought you were a bit light on the swearing this time....
