- Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn says that the UK faces an "unprecedented situation" and accuses the prime minister of having led the UK into " constitutional crisis".
He says that "she achieved nothing" at the summit over the weekend, "she has not made any progress at all".
The Commission has been "categorical" that there will be no further re-negotiations. He says that the prime minister "no longer has the backing of her Cabinet".
He lists the Cabinet members who are secretly working on other options, including some who are working for a second referendum.
"An unacceptable deal is on the table," he says, and no reassurances have been offered.

Did she really just accuse someone else of putting party interests before country?
The irony of that statement is just painful.
🙄🙄🙄 I can’t believe she’s still there
You could count on one hand the number of them who've never compromised their beliefs for the benefit of the party.
Don't insult him for no reason. Him merely voicing an opinion doesn't exactly cause you pain and suffering.
It's not an *easy* choice, however - that's a simplistic and ideologically driven view. The referendum happening doesn't change the fact that it's a legal quagmire, and not unlike trying to remove a donated organ decades after implantation without the use of anesthesia. The deadline is only next year, too.
Her majesty said in October that she looked forward to a new relationship with the European Union. That's characteristically good natured, but it doesn't lean strongly one way or another. I'd link it for you, but your inclination to anger dissuades me from helping you further.
Kenneth Cox yeah let’s follow one persons advice blindly that doesn’t sound like it could go wrong 😂😂 moron
We have been in the midst of the worst political crisis since the Second World War for two and-a-half years. The only thing Mayhem has done in all that time is make it worse.
"Mayhem"
I like that
I think I'll start using that one
Jonathan Cooper fact
All by design.Order out of chaos, thats the motto of the freemasons.
fred smith it was Mayniac’s choice to arrogantly and stupidly call an election, thinking the electorate would vote how she wanted them to, no matter how utterly contemptible her election campaign was and how often she talked down to people, and in the hope that the electorate would give her such a huge majority that it would make her a dictator for what it’s worth. Mayhem was wrong. It backfired. And now it’s her that’s politically impotent. On top of that, she’s had two and-a-half years to put something together that the majority of MPs could get behind. Her abject failure to do this is on a scale I never thought possible. And history will bury her for it.
Cindy Barnard good thing I’m a member of the Labour Party and chomping at the bit to go canvassing at the next election.
Why is she laughing?! I can’t imagine anything less funny!!!?
Because she knows that she can just retire and have zero consequences. She won't share the economic fate of the people, so it's all fun to them until they get bored of it. Then it's a comfortable life writing memoirs or newspaper columns for inordinate salaries. They don't care if the man on the street hates them. It's not like they have to mix with them.
Jeremy Corbyn is not perfect but he has far greater understanding of the world and the British Public than May. Oust her.

Sure Geth, a party that appoints a member of the EDL 😂😂
Me its really quite easy at this point! Take no deal since the deal would leave us no better off and thus we can start making deals idividually with other countrys instead of being fixated on the EU.
The 3 questions asked could be readily answered by a Commons vote. There is no reason the Tories should be allowed to stall any longer as even they admit that the deal will be May's deal. If not, she lied in her response.
The speaker must step in to bring the vote forward. Delaying is destroying businesses and jobs.
Tories aren't stalling, May is. And she has good political reasons to do so. I only wish she'd been as half as good as playing brinkmanship with the EU as she is with parliament
The Tories are stalling any progress by simultaneously saying that every single viable option would be a heinous mistake. No deal would destroy jobs and livelihoods of those who can afford it least. Kay's deal is a difficult compromise aimed at limiting the damage. Give the people tangible options to vote on and let them decide on the country's future.
It has never been not will ever be 'undemocratic' to give people a vote, especially when the options are so much more specific and well substantiated.
@@alasdairduncan3 Mays deal is designed to put britain into a condition ripe for re-entry once we have been "punished" enough and the public are softened by another 2-5 years of gruelling 'brexit' austerity, lack of trade and legal issues we'll be begging to hit the "undo" button the EU will undoubtedly provide to allow a super quick re-entry if we surrender the by then decimated pound and accept full membership with no exemptions.
Perhaps this was the plan all along, the answer proposed 20 odd year old question of how to actually break the UK's national spirit which has until now blocked EU naturalisation, to get us onto the Euro and to remove the exemptions and rebate we've enjoyed so far, and also how to crush any and all anti-EU movements by setting a shining example of just what leaving means...
I'm all for a united europe, I feel we have many things in common, and a great many friends and family across borders, however the EU as an institution is evil, and dangerous and must be resisted! The EU is slowly turning into a fascist state, seeking more and more power and centralising that power in the executive branch and its administration, rather than in the parlement.
Overall the May Government has achieved almost nothing. A shoddy , shambolic Government that needs to be removed. Jeremy is spot on in his observations of the Train wreck of the Tories "led" by May !
David Ellis the problem is David that even though he is correct the alternative is worse . Look at the people on the bench behind him and tell me who you would trust if the tables were turned. Fatty Thornberry , perhaps , what have they done with the shadow Home Secretary locked her in a cave ?
Jeremy Corbyn: has entered the lobby.
Theresa may: has left the game
Problem with May is that she is trying to appease to leave and remain voters with her deal to satisfy everyone, but the vote was clearly written to remain or leave the EU on the ballot paper.
no, may has been making a deal between tories who want a soft brexit and tories who want a hard brexit, the result is a brexit that suits no hard brexiter and no soft brexiter
remainers have had no say at all in this farce
Indeed, a binary choice is exactly that. I seem to recall the EU stating 'Out is Out' during the referendum too. *sigh* simpler days when a 0 was a 0 and a 1 was a 1.
Quackers 95 that’s right!!
Correct. I voted leave to end the jurisdiction of the ECJ, leave the Customs Union and leave the Single Market. But I've been told I didn't know what I wanted ever since . It was always going to upset our European partners that have exposed repeatedly that this was never about commerce but power grabbing greed. I can live with Juncker's predictable strops and tariffs on goods if it means out of the above.
It was clearly written but not explained or understood. The idea that we can trade with the EU and not accept their rules is stupid. We are leaving the table to be given table-scraps.
I’m speechless. The woman has an ego the size of a planet! 17 million voted leave but another 17 million couldn’t be bothered to leave the house to vote, and 12 million were unable to vote. Send the Government home and leave the rest of the members to have a sensible conversation.
She must because she's been running on pure ego for months now and somehow hasn't run out yet lol.
The people voted, nonetheless. Redoing votes until someone gets the result they want is horrible - but that's what they want to do.
The vote of the people apparently doesn't matter until it days no brexit, then it's totally okay. That's what trying to be said. That's just wrong.
Many people don't vote, and won't vote if they redo it. There's no way to get 100% of the opinion.
The opinion of those who cared to actually vote is to exit the European Union, and it's these people's job to now get it done
@@Jeff_the_Hobo Because they're not confident that the people want to leave, they know they'll lose a second referendum now that the remainers who didn't vote because they thought it was an assured victory will vote, and because now that the people actually know the lies they were fed were just that, lies.
Trish Traynor I don’t get your argument 17 million voted but the others couldn’t not be bothered so why do they get to complain when they could not be bothered to vote for there county’s future.
callum It’s not my argument that the ‘people voted’, it’s Mrs May’s . The thing is that not all the people did vote, because politicians on both sides mislead the public and said a lot of nonsense and some people truly don’t believe it’s worth voting because they’re all as bad as each other. It’s a very sad reflection on the political establishment that they can’t persuade people to go out and vote.
Working class people fighting with each other... still the rich are getting richer.
I have my doubts about him but right now I have to sing, "OHHHH JEREMY CORBYN!"

Oh but she has. She's ensured there will be no deal and Brexit will commence on the 29th March with no transition period
Without prejudice ....lol...she's ensured nothing of the sort, because she was, and is, a remainer. What she has done is deliberately made a cock up of the whole thing and also the bizarre spectacle of a second referendum a possibility, which will effectively, at a stroke, make all other elections void, be they general,or local elections, people up and down the country can now demand 2nd elections if the are not on the side that wins first time around lol.
What she has done, my son....is make the country a laughing stock.
You don't expect to really get a no deal, do you? The Tories are terrified of no deal because the know it means the end of their party and Labour getting in. Then they also know that Corbyn will do much less damage than no deal. They will betray you again.
We can only hope. The brinkmanship is pretty tense though. Too close to call.
Serious Maran, You don't expect to really get a deal, do you?
Without prejudice I hope.we.dont have a deal. ..
I like how the English debate. I am not British and I think May is not a good thing as prime minister
Angela Rayner and Keir Starmer on either side of Corbyn is so funny to see now
Jeremy would actually try help people who need the help that’s why he should be there not that failure
She actually achieved far more than Labour would ever have done. Because Corbyn said he would never leave without his own demands being met. So all the EU would have done is to refuse his demands, and the UK wouldn't have left the EU. And Corbyn knows this. He's not that interested in the whether the UK leaves or stays, but having promised to respect the referendum result, he's now hoping he can blame someone else for the fact he has no intention of doing that.
She's the one putting the EU before the British people
not really, she got the best deal for the UK that the European Comission were willing to negotiate. Thats a ludicrous throwaway comment
The best deal that the EU allowed us lol. No deal now. She needs to get a backbone and tell them we are leaving. Fuck the EU.
Doing for her own interests and she should have that smirk wiped off her face like the rest of them on her side in the commons Jeremy Hunt Michael Gove Hammond boooooo to you all bloody Tories😎😎😎😎😎😎
Yes Corbyn lad! Go on!
Just leave without a deal, we didn't vote for an agreement! Whatever happened to "no deal is better than a bad deal"? Labour can get stuffed too!
Correction - YOU did not vote for a agreement - but a lot of leave votes did believe the Brexiter MPs when they stated that we'd get a "Great deal from the EU" or a Norway model. Only 34% of the country thinks No deal is a good option, hardly the majority that certain people keep claiming.
Go on Jeremy

It was naive and ridiculous to believe that going on a weekend tour to Brussels would somehow change something. some members of parliament has lost any sense of reality.
No matter who went to Brussels be it Theresa, Jeremy, Boris the result would be the same....stop shooting the messenger.
She wanted the job. She's not just a messenger - she's the chief negotiator.
Bring on the GE!
Go with no deal, let the UK start from scratch a second chance, no many get a new second chance.
Have another vote with 3 options:
1) May's deal
2) No deal
3) Cancel Brexit (only wins if more than 60% vote for this)
She tried to hide because of the E.U legalise over this 'deal'. My issue is that NO ONE voted for a deal, they voted to leave.....
Then stop the brexit before it's too late
@Amanda Hughes Probably just another Brit who's concerned about the damage no deal would do to our country.
@@ctwofirst6635 Since when did we place economy above democracy and liberty. Cancel the democratic referendum result because some corporate Fat-Cats might lose out. Cry me a river.
The electoral process is effective, but it isn't fair. Elections are done by electoral votes, not popular votes. Electoral votes are voted by elected representatives of the state who formally elect the president. We do not need redundancy (elected
representative), we can vote ourselves and the presidential election should be based on popular vote, this way all Votes are counted. Wake up America, this is how the minority control the majority. Do what is Right vs. White
Remove the Electoral Process/Vote. We have the technology to count every vote in America. Presidential elections are American wide, not State Wide. Remove the state out of the equation and just count the votes from all American Citizens to decide on our president. REMOVE ELECTORAL PROCESS, so this will never happen again. God is Good, God is here, and God will deal with those who choose to stay in the dark.
Brutal and also true.
Problem is neither side is better. Since thatcher 3 govts have committed war crimes (Blair, Cameron, May), 3 out of 4 Tory PM's have faced no confidence votes (Thatcher, Major, May) and we've suffered two crashes, both of which could have either been prevented or at least had the damage limited (Major, Brown). To me this spells something plainly. public need to stop trusting the two main parties whilst they pass the buck. We've spent too long with the, it will be different this time, attitude. Time to turn our backs and if there is no alternative, create one. Not voting is just giving our concession for the same to continue and the ballot box is the only way to bring the fear of a threat to their power back to them.
Looks like that the best option is always: don't do anything, and don't let anybody else do anything.
Hi I'm your host the EU and it's time to play
*DEAL OR NO DEAL?*
-Choose your box wisely
Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper and easier just to stay in the EU? This is a shitshow.
Europe were always going to kick the crap out of us over this. What else would they do? Give us a cuddle and the keys to the pantry? If any other EU countries were thinking about splitting, they'll change their mind once they see what a complete disaster it will be for the UK, 'pour encourager les autres' as Voltaire would remind us...
Ouch !!! That hurts ....
H,mmm. What she's actually done, has been to run around Europe, trying to get assurances that her own attorney general was talking bollocks. A point that Corbyn really should have made.
Mrs May says "Labour puts its interests before the interests of the British people." Pot, kettle, and black spring to mind here.
Ayayayayayyayayeayeaaaaaaaa
😂
Why doesnt she just give up and let someone else do the job!!!!
Now, had the people, industry and government just spent two years openly, candidly and honestly preparing for independence, in accordence with the leave vote, whilst symultanously negotiating a closer arrangement with the EU, because that is also what many people appear to want, then the EU would be under no illusions of Britains intent, resolve and its competance to prepare, the trade agreements fully negotiated and awaiting signature and this roll on 29 March if the EU did not want a mutually respecting and progressive relationship with us.
As Mr Corbyn said, it's a national crisis, is not it our responsibility to face the crisis collectively irrespective of political ideology? In that case, rather than only criticizing Mrs May, the PM, why does not Mr Corbyn suggest a best way out to the British public so that people can think about it?
He and all other MPs in the house wanted to discuss and suggest better ways but May halted that debate and potential vote.
The house of commons is an absolute joke. They literally act like 12 year olds. That is all.
Just get on with it and vote ffs, why do they keep kicking the can down the road? As for Jeremy Corbyn, he and his cronies will vote against anything if it gives him a chance to seize power. Difficult time in British politics but decide, we need strong leadership!
When Corbyn speaks, Tories everywhere get a chill down their spine.
Does the Cabinet support the deal ? Well that depends on who is in it on a day to day basis.
what happened to "no deal is better then a bad deal"
i can honestly seeing may walk she looks exhausted and no wonder i don't think anybody would really want to be PM with this mess right now. I don't blame just her or torys but westminster as a whole for putting the country in such a sorry state that its ruining it, jobs, the pound, investment and so on. it's just one big mess that everybody wants it over and done with so we can move on and get on with it.
Both parties pledged to honor Brexit. There is no other course to follow with the destruction of western democracy, possibly no only in the UK. With no changes why the wait on the vote. What reason is there to delay and leave no time to change course!

No, the referendum was leave or remain. However how this is negotiated is where we expect our politicians to shine. Instead there has been a steady process of bad decision-making. Much of what May has done has been shoddy or reckless.

Politicians equal me, me and me? selfisim.
Funny how you Brits now point fingers at politicians for this catastrophe whilst YOU voted for a brexit, NOT politicians.
Hard, soft, limb, liquid...Doesnt matter what brexit you voted for, accept your vote.
What about the large chunk of people who voted to remain? And the huge load of people who didn't vote? One of the first things the UK electorate did after the referendum was to reduce May's strength in the commons - so that was a clear indication that this was never going to go well for her and her weak government.
Many of those who voted to leave _do_ want to accept their vote and their chant is "Brexit means Brexit" (whatever that means). However, the terms of the referendum were not clear enough - and importantly there was not a large enough margin one way or the other to make it decisive. Cameron should have stipulated a substantial difference between leave and remain in order to trigger the process.
JE Hoyes I feel bad for the remainers...They are the true victims of this brexit :-(
A new referendum is the only option.

They are not negotioting for the best for Britian but for what they want and not even dealing with the problems occurring within Britian like THE NHS or have they forgot about it
The people who promised to spend millions on the NHS instead of giving it to "Brussels fat cats" were UKIP, Boris Johnson and the rest of the Leave campaigners. They ran away as soon as it came to the actual nitty gritty of leaving. The conservatives didn't pledge to spend any more money on the NHS if people voted to leave the EU. In [edit] fact, I expect they will spend even less because they show every intention of privatizing it bit by bit. Leaving the EU will give them the excuse to make even more hard cuts to public services and squeeze us all through continual austerity measures.

Question? Do we live in a democracy? Do we believe in free speech? Do we believe in democratic voting? The people of Britain have voted democratically for Brexit, therefore job done, Brexit means Brexit! If Corbyn and his cronies dont believe in the democratic voting system, feel free to leave the Uk and join non democratic EU.
We had a referendum on leaving the EU not on something called "Brexit", which was a term dreamed up by the media and UKIP.
Leaving the EU could mean _anything._ From no deals to staying in the customs union and allow freedom of movement. We could even join Schengen and the Euro and still be out of the EU.
The only thing we get from leaving the EU is no longer having voting rights on EU policies and laws. If we want to trade with EU countries we will probably have to start from scratch and still have to abide by their policies in order to trade.
This video shows the UK democracy in action. Well, inaction because May has halted the debate.
