I've just signed up as a full member of the Labour party.
Not just because of Jeremy, but because of the diverse kinds of people he attracts and the collectiveness I have experienced amongst them. So I'd like to thank the PEOPLE and Jeremy for bringing me back.

+Sophia Fragapane Just you wait for good old left wing hospitality, say something they disagree with and they'll hound you out the building.

I think you need to look at the definition of what a collective is. No offense, I understand your opinion.

Welcome to the family Sophia, a new comrade is always welcome, I'm not sure what the other chap is saying, I have raised unpopular points of view and respected unpopular points of view at CLP meetings before, we are a broad church politically and will remain so, make sure you get in contact with your membership secretary and get yourself involved; one of the most satisfying things I've ever experienced was when I was sat outside a polling station on a cold rainy day, drinking a cup of tea kindly supplied by polling staff with my rosette and red skiing jacket on, and a gentleman and his family emerged from the polling station who I had a chat with prior to him going in and him telling me (I'm there to ask who he voted for for statistics) "I voted labour and so did they because of you".
Maybe it's because I'm a bit of a loser but it was kind of satisfaction I thoroughly enjoyed which you don't get anywhere else!

+Sophia Fragapane By 'the diverse kinds of people he attracts' do you mean the homophobic, anti-semitic and barbarous terrorist organisations such as: Hamas, the IRA and the al'Qassam brigade.

    • @Ryan-bo5uc

Sophia Fragapane 1. I'm a Physicist who lives in South Kensington, London. So, small town syndrome?
      2. I get my news from a variety of newspapers including The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph and many reputable international journals such as the New York Times and The Washington Post. None of those are tabloid newspapers!
Really though, I shouldn't even deign to respond to your bawling, rambling nonsense. I entreat you not to use ad hominem attacks because they lessen your argument and simply show how rude some Corbyn supporters can be (not to be disparaging to yourself). If you are to get involved in politics, which is fantastic, I can only advise you to be decorous and respect those that fervently disagree with you.
      Kind regards.

+donvitoin Bernie's position is more subtle than that caricature. Both he and Corbyn care about the human rights of Palestinians.

    • @jacquessayang
      @jacquessayang 9 лет назад +2

Nico NicoNico Nico is right. Sanders supports a two-state solution and he's not particularly fond of Benjamin Netanyahu. He also believed the Operation Protective Edge was going too far.

    • @niconiconico6183
      @niconiconico6183 9 лет назад +6

Here is some of his position.
"Is Sanders a Zionist? Here's what he told Vox's Ezra Klein:
"A Zionist? What does that mean? Want to define what the word is? Do I think Israel has the right to exist? Yeah, I do. Do I believe that the United States should be playing an even-handed role in terms of its dealings with the Palestinian community in Israel?
Absolutely I do."Again, I think that you have volatile regions in the world, the Middle East is one of them, and the United States has got to work with other countries around the world to fight for Israel's security and existence at the same time as we fight for a Palestinian state where the people in that country can enjoy a decent standard of living, which is certainly not the case right now. My long-term hope is that instead of pouring so much military aid into Israel, into Egypt, we can provide more economic aid to help improve the standard of living of the people in that area."
He will defend Israel to a hostile crowd, but will also fault Israel-and will shout down hecklers."
I'd say this makes him a fair-minded, reasonable guy.

That's a bit Daily Mail desperate, whether it's true or not I don't know. However, I do know this.
When a man running for leader of a political party and possibly the position of prime minister is examining the validity of the tenders for balloons, wristbands and t-shirts, I know he's a control freak and shouldn't be in control of a political party.

    • @pickledellies
      @pickledellies 9 лет назад

      +pickledellies
I also know this man had the lowest expenses claims of all MPs from all parties during the 'expenses claim scandal.
So knock out your smears, it's all the opposition can do, there's a new wave of optimism and no matter how hard you try to spin a desperate story and no doubt there will be others, there are a lot of people behind him and this seed change can and will take hold. I look forward to it.

There's no doubt he means well and is a decent human being. But a lot of what he says, while based on decent principles, doesn't stand up to scrutiny. For example, he says he is pro entrepreneur but anti-investor. But entrepreneurs are nothing without investors, they work hand in hand.

No, Labour’s defeat is not a condemnation of LEFT politics.
Their policies did not change since they had their meteoric rise, when Jeremy took over Labour. The most massive rise in popularity since the beginning of polling.
Only two things have changed: The massive media campaign against Jeremy.
And the change in Labour’s stance on Brexit.
That stance was forced on Jeremy, due to the split party. Right wing Blairites still exist in the party.
The policies are popular. And they did not change.
And the SNP gained massive support. Massive. And they have many of the same policies. Leftist policies.
Such massive support that they may leave the UK.
People like them. As demonstrated world wide, by protests FOR policies just like these. People don’t want the world as they know it to be destroyed, leaving nothing but disaster for their kids.
Now, here’s the thing: The media outlets are all owned by billionaires. Some of them are socially conservative, some are socially liberal.
But all of them are economically conservative.
      Right wing neoliberal.
Like the Tories, and like the Blair Labour party.
Left-Leaning polices cut into their profits. They don’t want that.
So they attack him for EVERYTHING.
      ruclips.net/video/VF4CwfIWm00/видео.html
      www.socialeurope.eu/corbyns-electoral-defeat-myths-causes-and-lessons
And here’s the thing. At door polls the number one reason WHY people didn’t vote labour was ‘Corbyn man bad.’
And when asked, 2/3 of people could not say why.
And this is from Labour and Conservative polls.
And almost all of the people who did, mentioned antisemitism. The number one smear. And if you actually look for that events that the claims of antisemitism are based on… they don’t exist.
That’s how you know it’s propaganda. When the people asked cannot tell you why, cannot tell you their logic chain that lead them to think [X].
And propaganda works. We all know it.
It worked during the war, it works in the advertising field.
So what do you think is going to happen when all the mainstream media channels are owned by billionaires?
Gonna tell me that magically, after decades of refinement, propaganda suddenly stopped working?
So no, it’s not the policies.
It’s the smears, it’s Labour’s waffling on Brexit, it’s the split party, and it’s a weakness in Jeremy’s leadership.
And I say this as someone who fucking loves Jeremy.
Though I have my suspicions that he played everyone, by dumping Brexit in the hands of a Tory majority, with no one to blame for the coming disaster.
It could destroy the Tories, it really could.
