This is a training video for how to put on the adult diaper (brief) for your love ones in a lying position. It's a cover-it-all video for changing the adult diaper, either putting on the adult diaper on a handicapped person with a lying position, or for fully dependent elderly, all the steps can be finished by only one single caregiver.
Simply organized it in three steps:
Step 1: Fold the Diaper and put it between the thighs
Step 2: Fan out the diaper and fasten tabs
Step 3: Look over and adjust for the comfort

This was super helpful. I am very unexpectedly a caregiver for my mom and the home hospice people try to teach me things but I rely heavly on youtube for information. This is excellent for bed, if you could make a video for how to do this when they are standing up after using the toilet I'd appreciate it, I try to fasten one side and pull up but I always have trouble. @BD E hello! well it depends, I work in the ward which is combined urology and rehab, so patients came in with the issue of kidney stone, hematuria, urethra strictures, BPH and so on, mostly they are mobile so they didn't wear the diaper (exception can be those patients with urinary incontinence they might wear diapers, pads or pull-ups). On the other hand, the rehab part, patients had been diagnosed with traumatic brain injuries, CVA, Intracerebral hemorrhage, as my experienced due to limbs weakness caused immobile and other reasons, some of them need to wear diapers (in my ward more than 60% of them use diapers). And about the surgery and anesthesia, yes right after the surgery due to the anesthesia they need to stay on the bed for 6-8 hours(still depends on what kinda surgery and type of anesthesia), we will help them to put on diapers or use bedpan before they can get out of the bed.
BD E If the surgery requires general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia when you go to the operation room they will insert the foley cather and after bringing you to postoperative recovery room they’ll remove it, during that time if you need to urinate then they’ll help you to use bedpan or diaper (in my ward mostly they bring the foley Cather back with them cuz they were undergoing urology surgery), but if it’s just local anesthesia, needless to insert foley cather or wear diaper because it’s only effect on a small specific area of your body and you are still being fully awake and able to control yourself. How do you put these on a standing patient
I'd like to do this too, I usually take 3 tries where my mom gets tired of standing and has to sit down.
@@HauoliDad I've found that pull ups are easier if the patient can stand, just have her hold onto her walker and lift each foot upas you put it on and then just pull them up. They hold a lot more urine than the tab kind too.
Stop with the actively moving, skinny patient. We need to see obese people who CANNOT assist in their own turning. My 200 pound mother is total dead weight and we have NO TRAINING.

A total person need two person and that is why I want to quit my job at a long-term care home. If I had to work with a coworker with a nasty attitude towards work and don't want to work as a team.

I haven’t found anything on RUclips about THAT part of the process - & I’ve been looking! Putting on a clean one can be difficult at times but removing a really dirty one without making more mess is a skill I’m still working on.

@@HauoliDad, you can transfer your mom to a wheelchair (or a walker, if she can use that with your support), help her get to the toilet, and have her use you, her walker or wheelchair, and/or a grab rail (you can install one on the wall next to the toilet) to help get down and back up. You can also check and change any diaper or pull-up there too, if she wears one.
