If the patient is strong enough to make a bridge like that I should think it would be possible to put them in a wheelchair & take them to a toilet that has been designed so the patient can be slid onto & off the toilet with ease. Or preferably, use a commode like wheel chair which has an opening in the bottom so that it can be wheeled into position above a toilet, so that the patient does not need to be transferred to the toilet seat from the wheelchair at all. This method has the advantage of allowing the patient to feel they are in normal surroundings & have the privacy of the toilet cubicle. Some patients cannot go on a bedpan, its too unfamiliar. However it might be necessary for a nurse to know this skill for patients with some sort of specific injury which prevents them being put in a wheelchair.

You can use washable pads. However, if you have to roll your patient, the possibility of spulling goes up. I would use the chuck for easy disposal. Medical supply stores have them or you can order them online. Hospice supplies some for patients under their care.
Push them. bend their leg with one arm and place one arm on their upper back. Bend down a little and use your legs for power. Push them to their side, keep one hand on their upper back, place the bedpan underneath them with the other.
Why make bedridden people wipe themselves? Even with gloves they can’t always reach, far enough, the gloves are not long enough,to keep your wrist and arm clean, the staff are paid to do it,it’s their job,to change patients & clean them.😮

The patient obviously can help her self
you partially closed the curtain on the cupboard side but it's a shared room and you didn't close it from his roommate
In video its made to look easy in reality its definitely not eldery patients either roll off as their uncomfortable or for get to ring the nurse call bell or the urine comes up between the legs all different size patients will use bed pan differently and most cannot wipe theirselves the most important point that was not raised is time i worked on a 30 bed ward and hadn't got the time to deliver this tenichniqe very busy and understaffed wards we'd get our patients to the toilet or commode if bedpan went wrong if would mean a hell of work for the patient clothes change and bed change.

What can I use on place of chuck or can I find it in stores?
You can use washable pads. However, if you have to roll your patient, the possibility of spulling goes up. I would use the chuck for easy disposal.
Medical supply stores have them or you can order them online. Hospice supplies some for patients under their care.
What if the patient cannot move hereself?
Ponmile Eldorado I was thinking the same thing
Turn them to the side and place bedpan on then roll them onto their back and adjust bedpan
Push them. bend their leg with one arm and place one arm on their upper back. Bend down a little and use your legs for power. Push them to their side, keep one hand on their upper back, place the bedpan underneath them with the other.
Why make bedridden people wipe themselves? Even with gloves they can’t always reach, far enough, the gloves are not long enough,to keep your wrist and arm clean, the staff are paid to do it,it’s their job,to change patients & clean them.😮
The bed pan only gets rinsed? No disinfectantm??
I'm wondering the same thing!
yes, it should be passed through steam sterilization.
Thats what I thought too
Thank you man!!!
Jobs like these can be very challenging

When do the pants come down?
hahaha she is doing on pants
Only rinsed the after used bedpan?. It should be disinfected as well.
Maybe helping them clean themselves would be good idea. How is the patient supposed to do the this themselves?
