@@anthonyloconte6529 i see your point,,,,but still he didn't say ultimate from back than,,critical thinking does not mean complex thinking,, it means honest simple thinking thats connected to what you really think rather than to what your supposed to think,, "the emperor has no clothes" is a critical thought ,though its quite obvious that the emperor has no clothes but since everyone acts as though he has fancy clothes ,saying he has none becomes a critical thought, even though everyone knows it and sees it
My grandfather was a Staff Sergeant who landed on one of these on D-Day. He told me about driving up onto the beach with a snorkel for the engine, with cold water at neck height for him as he drove it. The job of him and his fellow soldiers (they served under Bradley and then Patton) was to lay telephone wire to keep communications between the command HQs and the frontline troops. This job kept him and his friends on the front lines, and they saw a lot of action, and his halftrack (which he named “The Virgin Mary”) saved his life multiple times. I also wouldn’t be here if not for the M3 halftrack. Very cool to see it on Pawn Stars! The one my grandfather’s unit rolled with only had a single M2 .50 cal on top, not the AA configuration with 4 barrels you see here. But it kept him safe across Europe from France through a Belgium and the Netherlands and into Germany, and that means it did its job.
@@drdre4397 First of all its a joke, second, you do realize the U.S. military is not only comprised all of U.S. citizens (shocking!), but that they are volunteers, the military won't just turn on the entire country. Brought back memories for me. As a British soldier in Germany we were still using these as armoured support. They had a folding gantry that was raised with the winch and used as a crane. The biggest job we done with them was Centurion main engine changes. You can imagine the interest when we hooked up with Americans on NATO exercises

That is later model, White M16. My Grandfather was the Gunner in one, during the Battle of the Bulge. He was short, and its not a big area, and the seat is just a piece of canvas stretched tight.

Got $85 thousand for the half-track then blew through about $3,000 worth of ammo.
Its probably History Channel who paid for the ammo. I don't think Rick nor the seller will cover the expense for the ammo if it cost $3,000.
.50 BMG runs at about $250-$300 for 100 rounds. So realistically he only shot about $1000-$1500 worth of ammo.
