Haleakala Sunrise, The Legend, The Music

We went to watch the sun rise over Haleakala, which is a “must-do” item when you visit the island of Maui. The sunrise inspired Steve to write a song about it, where he tells one of the many myths and legends of the Hawaiian Demigod, Maui, who supposedly lassoed the sun to force it to slow down and give more light to the day. This same myth/legend is told across many Polynesian cultures with different variations.
