T5 configuration -> T3 configuration. The removed boom has 3 telescopic sections, the inserted boom has only 1 section. The 2 sections on the vehicle stay attached all the time.
Correct ?
Entire boom can be removed if you need even less than 12 tons per axle.

The replacement looks like a smaller part, single tube to replace a multi.
It's not road legal with 5 section boom, 3 section one is within limits. So depending on what the next job needs, you either just remove the part and reassemble on the next job site, or swap it like here.

Liebherr LTM1650 has 2 boom configurations
No, you can usually order cranes with different boom lengths!
The thing is, longer boom has more weight, less stability, so carries less, shorter boom is shorter :p
@@SamDemo Liebherr LTM1650 has a quick change interchanged boom system, allowing operator a choice of 54 or 80 m (177ft or 263 ft) boom to be fitted, depending on the job.

due to weight restrictions
Germany and many places have axle-weight liimits on the roads at or below the 12t mark, depending on the area. at 12t axle weights, across 8 axles means 96t of vehicle.
The Liebherr LTM 1650, as in the video, with the full 6-section boom, riggers, superlift (not seen on this video), in road travel (riggers fully retracted, superlift and boom stowed and boom on the travel rest) weighs 134t thereabouts, putting 19t of weight on each of the first four axles, 16 on the rear. AFAIK this is not road-legal *anywhere* in the world, and only intended for on a job site itself, between setup locations
In areas, like the UK, where 16t is allowed, there are four ways of getting all axles below 16t, but not all below 12t.
1) With 6-Section Boom, Rear Outrigger Box, Without Superlift
2) With 6-Section Boom, Without Superlift, Rear Outrigger Box
3) With Superlift, Outrigger Box, without T4-6 Boom Sections
4) With Rear Outriggers, Without T4-6 Boom Sections, Superlift.
These are presumptions because the product page on the liebherr website seems to have an error in the depiction - the with-6 but without superlift options that are w// or w/o rear rigger box shows the rigger box on both, and the fourth option I'm presuming comes from an image that shows WITHOUT the rear riggers, even though thats the same picture for a 12t-load.
For Road travel at or below 12t, they're all without the rear outrigger box and superlift.
1) With T1-4 Boom and front outriggers. (12t)
2) With front outriggers and boom luffing ram, without boom. (5.5t, 10t)
3) With boom luffing ram, without boom and front outriggers. (5t, 10t)
4) With front outriggers, without Boom and luffing ram. Crane upper structure slewed 180 degrees from road travel. (7t, 8t,)
5) Without front outriggers, boom and luffing ram. Crane upper structure slewed 180 degrees from road travel. (6t, 8t)
Presumably, to get below 6t limits (which apply in a few areas), the upper structure itself would be removed, but the product page doesn't show about that.
That’s also a tip section tho. That’s what’s confusing to me.

Schönes Video. Ist der Grund für den Wechsel bekannt, für mich so nicht erkennbar.
gib den autokran einmal mit 50m und einmal mit 80m ausleger variante und die 80m variante darf in Deutschland nicht auf der straße fahren wegen überschreiten von 12to achselast
und der kran hat ggf besser lastmoment mit der kürzer ausleger variante

Nice video, lovely to see when the full potential of LTM1650 is used. In addition it could be helpful with an ALFF BLT a special trailer that can transfer different booms directly to the crane.

Wagenborg, die haben doch im Emsland nen Tank kurzzeitig auf nem Feld zwischengelagert, und bei uns sollten die ne Brücke einheben und haben einfach mal einen Kran zu wenig dabeigehabt.... 🤔🤣🤣🤣
