I have so many thoughts on this video. First, this is going to be sooooo bright & gorgeous!! Can’t wait to see it progress. I wonder how the petunias and the lantana will live together. It’s my experience that the petunias need significantly more water than lantana. Hope it works because it’ll be pretty. Also, totally agree about the lemon coral. The first time I planted it I fell in love with it. It lasted throughout the winter and when it came to life in spring, it was covered in those yellow blooms. Suddenly I hated it. I’m glad I didn’t pull it out because the blooms did die away and it was back to my pretty lime green plants for the rest of the season!
I’ve never known of Lantana spreading - almost wish it would!

Hi Holly! The combo worked really well for me in my containers last year! Haha it was the same for me and my lemon coral sedum! I actually have a garden tour video where I talked about removing them bc of the blooms! The next month I was back to loving them! 😆💗

Regarding the lemon coral sedum, even without the flowers, if they’re planted in full sun they’ll turn yellow. Some of the ones along your walkway are already like that. So just a heads up. I have a ton of lemon coral sedum in my front garden which is also on a corner lot. My house is south facing and so most of my lemon coral sedums have changed from their vibrant chartreuse green color when I bought them, to… well… a lemon color. 😅 I’ve noticed the ones that still look somewhat chartreuse are getting some shade from other plants so definitely if you plant this in full sun, expect a ton of flowers and lemon-colored, yellow foliage. Mine have also been prolific bloomers. I gather them being in full sun has also contributed to that. If you want to keep them neon green/ chartreuse, I’ve found that they need shade. 😊

Hey Janey, so here in Texas we have native lantana that can get up to 4 feet high and six feet high. And they are a lot more hardy then the store bought lantana. So they don’t need to be cut back every year. My lemon coral sedum did not come back this year. We had a front where the temps went from low 50s to the teens in about an hour and a half in late December! Some of our trees were still green also. So I was disappointed this spring when the sedum didn’t return. Anyway love your videos and garden stay blessed!

I love that you are planting the sedum in with the others, it will break up the yellow towards the front! It's going to be gorgeous!!
I'm in central Texas and have found the seed set on lantana to not be all that vigorous, manageable. However, I have a purple trailing lantana that likes to set out roots towards the outer ends of the stems. Mine got about 5"+ wide last year 🤯.
Part of the problem with plants spreading into natural areas is also that people dispose of plants that are more aggressive in growth into the trash/waste. Those can end up near waterways and rehydrate to continue growing. Plants like that need to be incinerated. Use caution when incinerating however, because they might be toxic while burning.

Can I make a content request? When you are able to discuss the 2024 plants, could you also discuss how to address the dry brown growth that is on the underside at the crown?
Not a knock on you. I have this problem every year with some plants that have to wait in their cans a few weeks while winter/spring plantings are finishing up. I do my best to pick off all the dead stuff, but inevitably I find that it gets worse and ends up attracting pests. Not sure if there's something else I should do in addition to removing the dead stuff. Thank you!

All my yellow petunias are supposed to arrive from PW next week. 😃 Regarding the nursery pots, my nursery takes them back for their growers to use again. Unfortunately, PW is not readily available near me, so I'm usually shopping at Armstrong. They take them all back, including the six packs. I'm looking forward to seeing your swoop progress. 🌞
