Sure they do that and all the edge lord creators like rusty will scream “ wtf?!? Another npc reused as a boss?!” I like rusty enough to sub but I’ll gladly take more, not less.
The crucible knights being named after prehistoric periods in earth's histiry is one of the coolest themes in the game to me Ordovis = ordovisian period Siluria= silurian period Devonia = devonian period.
True that, but tbh i was hoping for something like endure but longer/better, with a heavy attack unique after it like Glintblade Phalanx - but lions claw
"But Devonia's symbol was that of a hammer, which could only represent the blacksmithing practices of the Lands Between." OK, but I think you're forgetting something; both Marika and Radagon have a connection to hammers. Marika used a hammer to shatter the Elden Ring, and Radagon used that same hammer to try and repair it (and to beat our Tarnished into paste during his boss fight). So there might possibly be a connection there too. I would also like to point out that, during the time period we're discussing, the question of 'are the Crucible Knights from the Land of Shadow' is a moot one, because during that period of history, the Land of Shadow had not yet been sealed away; it was part and parcel of The Lands Between and they were one 'world', not two. So unless the Crucible Knights only came into existence after Messmer's crusade and the sealing of the Land of Shadow, then the question doesn't really matter all that much, at least not to my way of thinking.
Marika and Radagon did share Marika's hammer, a relic in itself since no one else in their family or order seem to favor hammers. Marika's hammer is also a tie to the Land of Shadows.
I think there is a parallel to draw between Dark Soul's Silver Knight Ledo and Devonia. Both are kind of loan wolves of their own order that they are a part of and wield a large, inhuman hammer.
Very possible. Also, both knights come from a similar era. The crucible knights being older but messmers troops are arguably the oldest order of knights which means them knowing only a few spells makes sense in the timeline: the knights in the lands between came from periods after this time (golden order time) and thus we’re not taught them.
Something I love and hate about Elden Ring is the number of people that, if they just waited a damn minute to here them them, would basically be on the player's side. I'd love to have Devonia join my merry band and I get her into the places she wants to explore.
It says "We'll Be Right Back" in the lower right hand corner before an AD plays, at about 9:54 That's awesome. Thank you for the attention to detail, and the courtesy.
I like the theory that the crucible is much more present in the land of shadow as opposed to the lands between. There are two black knights that utilize aspects of the crucible, one using wings and another using a tongue. There’s also the golden hippopotamuses that use the thorns aspect.
When I think about it watched a vid not to long ago about how many civilizations or orders were built on top of each other. For example the rauh ruins has some markings from the mountain tops, and farum azula, as well as the hornsent. Considering the theory the land of shadows was once in the land btw before being obscured, Davonias search ended in the land before the veil was put up. Which means the origin of the crucible began in the lands btwn and Marika obviously resented that for her order (well the greater will not marika)
The crucible armor is the best armor in the game IMO. It looks amazing and has amazing stats across the board, including one of the best poise to weight ratios in the entire game.

Now this is a stupid question but I wonder which is more closer to the crucible dragon incantations or crucibles and I only bring this up because it says the dragon incantations are to raw to be called a incantation so if it’s so raw in nature and it can turn a dragon hearted into a dragon momentarily does that mean it has close ties to the crucible?
Just as a point of order. I don't believe there's enough information to say that she was the FIRST crucible knight, only that she's the longest serving.
It's definitely an assumption I'm making. If she's the longest serving I think it would stand to reason that she's the first, barring any crucible knights that maybe laid down their armor.
@square-table-gaming no worries (great channel by the way) I guess my point was that - on a very different real-world level, and simply the first I thought of - the (former...? TBC) Mexican drug cartel Los Zetas first member was called Arturo Guzman Decena. He was the first Zeta, but not the longest serving. Poor analogy perhaps, but I think it stands. Cool video, thanks for making it 👍
I think I robbed myself of a good fight by taking her out long range with a bow. One of many mistakes I made in the DLC alongside killing Igon because his screaming was annoying me.
Antec!!!!!???? LIKE THE village mayors secret weapon??? i love antec!!!!! Btw im talking about darkwood. Antec is a terrible beast of unimaginable power. lol (Shotgun blast to the face)
@voltrus3783 there isn't really anything but you can build a pretty interesting story with that. Gaius was an albinauric, Messmer's closest friend, AND classmate of Radahn. Definitely makes him compelling
I’ve always felt that the crucible knight looking at miquella’s cocoon was searching for Devonia
Not giving her the crucible knight ost or health bar is crazy
Sure they do that and all the edge lord creators like rusty will scream “ wtf?!? Another npc reused as a boss?!” I like rusty enough to sub but I’ll gladly take more, not less.
@@mightysrk yeah it is annoying af,
Instead they gave health bars to the uncreated tree spirits smh
Not really?
Idk, it was kinda cool to see her as a fellow explorer of the land instead of an enemy.

i think it’s safe to say a few of the black knights of shadow lands were likely former crucible knights as well
still upset that Devonia's Hammer is just a big Ordovis' Greatsword when the cool transformation triple stomp was right there

Brother, your channel is so underrated, when it comes to lore i think you are on part with VaatiVidya, keep posting the lore we all have come to love💯
Thank you! It'd be amazing if we ever hit 100K, subs but I do it because I love it, so underrated is fine by me as long as people like the content.

I’m still mad we didn’t get crucible horse or tongue incantation, it was already pushing it with wings being an ash
and we got the flower :/
@ yup something super strong for the enemy but useless in ours
The dev probably knew what the community would do with the tongue incantation and didn't want to risk it.
It would have been really good on STG/FTH builds. You want to run from the bonk... I guess I'll just run faster
And no less an ash that can't be infused on any of the non-infusable Crucible Knight weapons.

You got a sponsor. NICE. 👍
And I was sold on Devonia by having a centaur-like crucible aspect alone.
I’ve been loving all the lore videos lately! Have been dying for some info about Devonia!

That must be something RUclips is testing now. We don't have that much control over what goes on with the ads
@square-table-gaming
Thank you for the honesty, then. I hadn't noticed
Would be great to see a vid on the lore of the aged ones. They suck ass but seem like they would have some interesting lore. Love the channel

It's a shame we didn't get a Crucible Knight NPC
I wish she was harder. Far too easy a fight for a named Crucible Knight.

Messmer: those stripped of the grace of gold shall all meet death-
Devonia: Messmer, meet death (her hammer). Death, meet Messmer.
The crucible armor is the best armor in the game IMO. It looks amazing and has amazing stats across the board, including one of the best poise to weight ratios in the entire game.
Now that I think about it, is there a chance that Devonia could have taught the black Knight Garrew and Edredd how to use aspect of the crucibles?

Lol, I shouldn't watch this. I haven't played DLC yet. But I just love the Lore too much 👊

Ok, I know it's not related to this video, but I didn't know where else to ask it. Will you eventually make a video about Commander Gaius?
Most definitely. There isn't much to say outside of what the lore tells us directly, but he's a very cool character.
@@square-table-gaming okay thank you, I tried to look up for some info, but found nothing outside armor description.
