Now that is DRUM CORPS. I miss it can't wait to do it again one more time next with my Bluecoats Alumni Corps. I miss competing against the Cadets but we are all Drum Corps family. Today, Yesterday and Tomorrow. May we all have fun enjoy the times with each other and play amazing, music and make the crowds enjoy every minute of our time on that field. We love all of you.
Let me tell you that is one heck of program! The chills I got watching these talented young people use their God given gift to perform such a powerful performance is overwhelming. Watching the Drum Major give every ounce of her being to convey the power and intensity and majesty of that last part of the program brought tears to my eyes. Wow, I would of loved to have been in her shoes when that last chorus drops on that down beat with the whole corp in front of her, Lordy I would of been balling my eyes out every time. She did a magnificent job and the corp responded in kind. You did your organization, alumni, supporters, and families proud. Well done Cadets you made me remember what the power of music can do. Thank you!
I love this show. It really brought me to the early 2000's when this activity was new to me and going to Gillette stadium to watch the '05 Cadets win and watching the emotions from then and Jay Bocook's kid who was in the stands proud of what his dad arranged listening to Dancer.
Can we take a moment on this Vic Firth video to talk about how good this horn line was? Best Cadets brass since 2016. Cadets brass is back! Guard too. And percussion of course. This is The Cadets we all know and love. ❤️🙏🏼
I used to watch you guys 50 years ago when I was a little kid and you’d practice in front of the Bergen County jail in Hackensack NJ. Garfield Cadets. Our neighbor was a color guard member.
First few charts were from shows that inspired me to become a Cadet, and the others from years I saw as a proud alumni. This show was very emotional for me to watch live….great selection: representing the turning points or breakthroughs through the decades. The show did exactly what it was written for….
I absolutely love the line after the big impact. "Rocky Point Holiday and The Cadets Shall Always Be" followed by the big hit into Rocky Point Holiday.
Bruh that shit was traumatizing. I was the synth 1 and it felt like we sat there an hour before one of our volunteers snagged a monitor from flomarching lol
I have seen this criticism a few times and typically I also do not like narration in drum corps shows. However in this show all of the narration is pretty unique and special; the first narration is a warmup exercise used at the Cadets in the 70s and 80s; the second is Jay Bocook, brass arranger for the Cadets for the past 30 years; the third is Marc Sylvester, visual caption head at the cadets throughout the 80s, 90s, and 00s; the fourth is April Martinez, colorguard caption head at the Cadets for decades; the fifth is Tom Aungst, drumline writer and instructional staff who has been with the corps for 40 years; the sixth is Denise Bonfiglio, first female director of the corps and who has been responsible for reviving the corps from almost folding; and the final "For Holy Name Shall Always Be" is made up of recordings of each of the members of the corps. So on the surface the narration may seem silly but once you know more about it it's pretty cool in my opinion.
The music that was before Garfield morphed into a marching band back when they were still a real drum and bugle Corp. Nothing against marching bands but call it what it is a band not a drum and bugle Corp. Former member of the Long Island sunrises
Yeah, no. This is the dumbest comment yet in this string. Do yourself a favor and listen to The Cadets every year from the 80s through today and be ready to be blown away. Really missing some phenomenal drum corps. Some examples: 97, 98, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018, and now 2021. Those are as real as drum corps gets. Go educate yourself.
Most of the time it sounds like the snare line is playing with felt-tip sticks. You can barely make out any definition from the battery for most of the show. WTF is this even?
Why was this a million times better than anything they've put out since 2016? GIVE ME THIS EVERY DAMN YEAR. Had me literally screaming multiple times
hey, 2018 was pretty good :]
@@frankcabrito7984 I literally can't remember what any of their shows were after 2017
@@frankcabrito7984 The Unity Project was an incredible show, Seeing that one live was pretty special!
@@frankcabrito7984 I agree, The Unity Project was very good. Then they took a step backwards in 2019. But this is very good

Not to be a boomer or anything, but
This is drum corps.
Not to be a boomer, but boomers can actually be right about a lot of things, and this is one of those things.

Love this comment! Fully agreed!
Vic Firth caught the Z-Pull! 4:26. Hell yeah! Well done!
1:55 holds a special place in my heart the chords and that large hit itches my brain!
This had to have been the best show I’ve seen since 2015. Thanks so much! #proudalum #FHNSAB
Don't know how many times I have watched this great video of this great performance. Excellent!
Cadets are running the game rn 🚫🧢
Absolutely beautiful! Mass respect to everyone who worked so hard on this. I loved this so much
Nice recording overall. Thanks Vic Firth. Hope to see you all earlier next year.

Agreed: in person - brass sounded great. Not so much on my tablet speaker…
Literally EVERYONE captures better audio than Flo. lol
I second this.
And for FREE! 😆

WOOO BABYYYY, This is what ive been waiting for!
Amazing production! Outstanding job all around! Extra love for the battery and those basses are smoking 🔥🔥🔥
So cool ! Bravo 👏🥁🎶🔥👏
The audio and camera work is thousand times better than Flo's 🤣
I wish i can still march corps. i would love to give it all over and over again
Great camera placement. I am new to the art and it is so much easier to appreciate it this way.
4:26 more shows need chords like this dude this has me shitting myself
This was my top 3 favorite shows to see this year on finals. Computer problem tho lol
Are you talking about their issues before performing at the finals?
@@xlea4497 yes.

HELL YEAH
The Tenorline is KWISPY🔥
Are white crew socks mandatory for the Cadets battery?
Yes.
Damn!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I just realized the beginning voiceover is basically Cadets Cha Cha Slide
Yes😂
This had me dead
WTF? This is beautiful!!!
EY THATS ROCKY POINT HOLIDAY I HEAR NEAR THE BEGINNING
4:27 I chuckled
The lone guy just walking 😂
That ain’t just some “lone guy” that’s THE Matthew “Doc” Stratton! The man who revived this hornline in just one season!

RIP Cadets
YEESSSSSS
Why are they called the holy name and what do they mean when they say shall always be...
The Cadets were first called The Holy Name Cadets in 1934 and Shall Always Be is the last part of our corps song.
Are all 5 tenors seriously Crimson Tide?
no, just section hat
@@ElementalJerk thanks for responding!
No GoPro’s on the drumline?
I got my own on my channel if you wanna watch it.
one of them is wearing one

This show is great, but it'd be 1,000x better without the narration spoon feeding everything to us.

The snares used felt tip sticks for most of the show except for the drum break when they used nylon tip. Hope this helps.
STOP with the vocals and tracks. STOPPPP.
