Appreciate the view. After getting the RSV4, I got used to having that much power all over the RPM range. The V2 is not a slow bike by any means, but it doesn’t have the power delivery of a 220 hp bike like an RSV4 or V4. That factor and I just wanted to try something different. I have already had the V2 for over 3 years now and wanted to stay in the Ducati family. What better way to stay in the Ducati family but get something different by getting a V4? Thanks again man.
@@ridewithKY Nice and makes sense. I have an 899 and V4. 899 has been track duty only for the last 4 years since picking up the V4. I think I want something different than the 899…but having a hard time deciding…V2, 990 RCR, or the Ape RSV4. Curious on your thoughts?
@IKnowFootball I think the V2 and 899 are too similar so I probably wouldn’t get a V2. 990RCR is going to be a cool bike for sure but we all know KTM quality is very poor. Those first few model years I’d probably wait out for KTM to work all the kinks out. I had a Husqvarna for a few years which used all KTM running gear, I would not buy another KTM personally. That leaves the RSV4. I love my RSV4 and for the money I don’t think it can be beat. That 1099 cc V4 is special. Has a lot more partial throttle torque than the Pani V4’s do but still have that outrageous top end the Pani V4’s are known for. If it were me, I’d get the RSV4.
i’m short like you, and have the V4 Street fighter. I put on the lowered Ducati performance seat, and took all the preload out of the rear shock. This certainly helped lower the bike for me. I may change the rear tire from a 60 profile to a 55 and that will drop it even further. Maybe try these suggestions. it will take a little time to get used to the V4 engine. The sweet spot seems to be around 5000 RPM. If you hold it at a constant throttle just below 5000 RPM, you’ll get lots burble and popping of the exhaust which sounds great.
@Drjfever great info! Thank you! I did look at the lowered Ducati seat but it’s only for street fighters. The way the seat mounts at the front is different on Panigale’s. Otherwise I would have went that route as 20mm would probably be all I need. The little I’ve rode the V4 it’ll definitely take some time getting used to. Even compared to the RSV4, the engine characteristics are very different. Just putt putting around town I can tell the RSV4 has way more partial throttle torque at lower RPM’s. Thanks again for the very valuable info.
Congrats on the purchase! Idk if it's any help, but I've heard the previous gen (2019-21) had a different subframe that sat a bit lower than the 2022+. Maybe see if the old subframe can fit on the newer model? Idk if it'll work tho
This is correct! That’s why I was originally looking for a 20-21 V4, but the deal on this 23 was just too good. Appreciate you chiming in and being helpful. 🙏🏽.
1299S is a sweet bike. That’d be a tough call between your S and a new V4. If you have a dealer that’s willing to do a demo ride for you, that’s the way to go. Thank you for the support and thank you for watching!
@RB25Dogan appreciate it man! I agree. The V4S is ridiculous expensive now. Seen a few sales on V4S’s here and there but still more than I want to pay for what it is. Thanks for watching man.
I've been following you since you purchased your RSV4. I recently bought a 2024 RSV4, and before that, I had a 2019 V4 S Corsa that I sold. I am now considering buying a brand new V4 soon. My only issue with my old Ducati was that the summer heat was unbearable.
@RB52Dogan are you planning to buy the V4 and keeping the RSV4 or swapping them out? I agree with the heat. I only rode the V4 once so far and the heat was pretty intense.
@@ridewithKY I was planning to sell the RSV4 when I hit 2000 miles, but after installing all the mods and carbon wheels with ceramic bearings, it will come in a couple of months. I genuinely love the bike, especially the SC-Project CRT exhaust. I never got any attention on a motorcycle like this one. Breaks neck everywhere! I will keep the rsv4 and add the v4 for winter rides then sell it before I hit 10k miles or big money service comes up on the Ducati lol
@@ridewithKY No problem bro. Always down to help. Happy you were able to find what you wanted. Can’t wait for an exhaust in the future. It’s gonna sound wild
I am 5’5”. I haven’t lowered it yet and have just been dealing with the height. Of course I’m trying to avoid lowering it, but after dealing with it for the last few months I think it’d be better if I just lowered it a little bit. I bought the AELLA links which drop it about 20mm. It’s not much but I think it will be sufficient for me.
@@ridewithKY Got it !! well im sure you know what works best for you! on another note yoour channel is great ,and so is your collection . If you havent already , dont get rid of the V2 its cool to say you have both
Damn youre that short huh 😅. That ducati red reminds me of the blood that came out of my mouth after having my wisdom teeth pulled out. So beautiful ❤️. Also maybe do a review on the v4. Love to know your opinions on the pros and cons.
Just triangle it. Don't need to do all that. Lot of ADV people do this early on so it's a valid skill. Feel like Ducati will be more headaches, Yamaha reliability is the way. Congrats though more bikes more fun.
Yeah I don’t think I need much. The Aella link I bought is supposed to drop it 20mm. That should be sufficient for me. I don’t mind one foot tippy toeing but not being able to reach the kick stand is a pain. I can kind of snatch it real quick with both feet off the ground, but I don’t want to have to do that every time. Plus if I’m on uneven ground there’s no way I can get the stand. Cheers man.
@@ridewithKY totally understandable man, I've been on some tall bikes but never had that kickstand issue so I couldn't even imagine how going to a stop position would be. I've done some triangle action but I'm definitely not a pro at that. Maybe one day.
Nice vid! I've been watching your V2 vids. After watching your long term review on the V2, I'm curious why you went with the V4?

I think so too. Appreciate the well wishes all the way from the UK. 🙏🏽.
I’ve thought about trading in my 1299S for a V4… might have to do a demo ride one of these days … congrats your NBD

How do you like the carbon wheels on your RSV4?
Not that it makes a ton of difference but desmo is actually 15,000 miles on the Pani V4’s.
Enjoying those intro clips with Onyx 🤣
That V4 is a sick bike. There's nothing like it out there man.

Try the lower seat first
Unfortunately not really any options for this. Ducati makes a lowered seat for SF’s but not Pani’s.

I have to triangle pretty much everything. But with this it’s beyond just that. I can’t even reach the kick stand.
