It must be so hard for Jin at times, he tries so hard to be respectful of Hattie's choices as much as his culture/life makes them seem inappropriate. He comes across as having such an innocence, but also a strong desire to protect the one he loves. I respect Hattie immensely for finding compromise with Jin to make culture shocks less for him. That is what a partnership is about, compromise, respect, communication and love. Happy New Year to you both.

Cuz I'm Korean I really can understand Jin's mind. Like Hattie said, Korean's clothing are conservative than British outfits, and the clothes Hattie wore in this video are all uncommon in Korea except number1! Haha. But that mind seems more likely to come up with protective instinct and Jin's love. You two are so lovely, and I'm always rooting for this couple.
What I love is that Jin really didn't like the outfits... but respected Hattie's choice if she decided to wear them and even though Hattie doesn't find anything wrong with the outfits, she respects Jin enough to not wear them.

Lets be honest, jin can be a bit of a prude. Its not a “korean” thing, everyone is different. It might not be socially acceptable to wear tube tops and have your bum hang out on a daily basis, but on weekend nights, clubs, “hot” places, you can see people wearing plenty of “”“inappropriate””” things. I hope people dont watch jins reactions to hattie and assume that all korean guys and all of korea is super closed minded and outdated.
To be very honest I've actually become rather averse of videos where the boyfriend/husband's opinion about a woman's choices is tested. It just propagates the idea that thinking about what men think about how we dress is something we should be concerned of.
Unless it is specifically a warning about how unsafe a place is, men should never ideally get to really influence how much skin we show or don't, as long as we're comfortable.
And between you and me, we're both adult women who understand all this.
But there are SO many young girls, enamoured by the idea of a boyfriend, watching this, and learning from it that caring about what your boyfriend thinks about your dress is somehow the norm. When it really isn't.
People only get to have a say when they're talking about how fashionable something looks, and not police what we should show and what we shouldn't.
We love Joon, he's a respectful gentleman. But not all men are. Females might already have toxic males in their lives and this content just cements their subconscious beliefs about where men get a say.
