Hola jorge! I was searching my italian copies of these two vesaas'books but I can't find them anywhere. I have too many books. So I have decided to watch on youtube if someone has talked about these books. And guess what? I have found one of your videos again! I love the way you make constant connections among books. You are a very valuable source, dear friend. Thank you very much! Have a nice day!
Ciao, Marinella! Wow, what a coincidence! 😃 Or maybe not, since we both appreciate great authors, and Vesaas is amazing. I can't believe I haven't read him since I made this video... The next on my list is The Seed, but I have so many books waiting for me, haha. Thank you for watching and sharing your experience, my dear friend! Have a wonderful week!
Brilliant.
Thank you so much, my friend! So glad you enjoyed it. 😃
I'm reading The Birds this month, finally, after hearing praise for it all over. Very excited!
Happy reading! Let me know what you think. Vesaas is such an underrated author. I found out about The Birds from Knausgaard's book. I recommend the novels of Tove Jansson too, if you haven't explored them. There are quite a few connections between the two authors. I still need to find a copy of Vesaas' The Bridges. So many books... Thank you so much for watching, commenting, and subscribing!
@@JorgesCorner Thank you for the recommendation! I actually have very little experience with Scandinavian or Northern European literature, just about none really, but have been watching a channel called Travel Through Stories which reviews alot of works from all these interesting sounding authors I'm unfamiliar with. I'll try Tove Jansson next.
Hello, Tobin! Sorry for taking a while to answer. I got the notification for your message just now, for some weird reason. My situation is similar to yours, to be honest. I think most of the Scandinavian authors I've read are Nobel Prize winners, but I love the little I've read. I hope you enjoy Tove Jansson! She's been a revelation to me. I'll definitely check out Travel Through Stories; thank you for the recommendation. I apologize once again for the late response! Thank you once again!
This is a great discussion. I've only watched the ice palace section, since i'm preparing to do a review of it this week and am beyond excited to read the birds.
To be honest, i'm pretty dismayed about the shallowness of the discussion in the youtube content on the ice palace. It's great to see you get to the bones of the book, rather than only thinking about the taste.
Keep this up!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the video. I have not seen other videos on The Ice Palace, but this novella deserves far more attention than it gets. I'm glad you'll be reviewing it. I'm watching your excellent discussion of The 42nd Parallel right now, and I look forward to watching your other videos. Thanks again, and enjoy The Birds!
