Wait you’re changing your rooftop tent again😂 Kayak USA just posted up a cool new one from TopOak Overland, the Galaxy 1.0, very roomy tent with a skylight. He mounts his on a ladder rack also and it’s easy to pull off when you don’t need it.
lol, so yeah. I sold the original tent. Crazy thing is that I bought the Topoak tent a day later and it’s been sitting in my garage while I wait on my ladder racks to arrive. I got this tent because it looks like it has so much more headroom than the typical clamshell style tents.
I would recommend TX straight blended whiskey. It is made in Ft. Worth and is very good. When you open the bottle, it smells like cupcakes. About $25 for a bottle.
Heard you mention shedding weight to better tow your RV, get you a Super Duty. You'll absolutely love it and never look back. And better gas mileage. I was in. 23 F-150 Raptor. Took my camper out 1 time and traded it in that weekend. Haven't looked back absolutely amazing
@@BrianWatersOutdoors I completely understand!. I bought mine used 3 years old it's actually a Ram 2500. Love the content either way, we'll keep watching help grow this channel! Love to do a meet up! That'd be cool. Anyways have a great weekend!.
Hi the end of the video was great ( not a sarcastic dig ) the moon behind you when you came out from the tent, the colours in the sky before the sunrise, the sound of the birds, and the sun just popping up at the end 👍 ( but glad I didn’t have smelly-vision with the deer poop ) all the best 👍🐝🌞 Hope you hade a good evening with your good lady 👏👌
There's nothing wrong with revamping a plan and going with a setup that works best for you. Sometimes the trial and error allows you to discover what truly allows you to enjoy the outdoors. Tent camping is always a go-to. I agree with you on those pans. Even after seasoning it and prepping it, it's only brought along for a backup option. #ThanksForSharing #HappyCamping
Also, Brian, on my 6 x 8 trailer . I lengthen the tongue by 2 1/2 feet and also made sure that the axle was square with the hitch better tracking also helped with backing it up.
Cold and moist. Yep that looked comfortable. Any how about the trailer you might look into Mikes pretty good campers. Love his story and the short trip with Mike Rowe.
If you haven’t, try mustang park if the water is up. You will be under trees and on the river side. With a fire pit and benches. It feels more like camping than in a park. Glad to see you in my backyard! #brianwatersoutdoors
The drone footage of the color of the tree tops was awesome and the area also hey the tent camping is just as fun to watch and a diesel heater works great on taking the moisture out of tent camping thanks for sharing Katy Tx 🦅🇺🇸🦅

Awesome video and editing skills. Your vids get better with each new post. I'm not an expert in trailers, but I will say this: I'm an old guy, been towing many different trailers for 55 years, and I have learned one thing for sure, "tongue weight is your friend". On a bumper pull style, I shoot for 12% to 15% TW. I weigh my trailers at the scale to ensure I have adequate TW. You might consider a utility trailer like from Lowes', and put the pop-up and other heavy items towards the front. It will tow like a dream, even at speeds, ahem, that we shall not discuss.
Glad to see you In good spirits. Spending all that time, effort and money and for it not to work out would have broke down most men. Trying new things is how you learn new things. From South Africa 11:30 and I'm sleepless..clicking thumbs up on your video seems like a good alternative ... spent weekend fitting a bull-bar to my primary camping rig, landrover discovery ii ridged for stealth in vehicle sleeping... Also picked up a 1970's vintage tent, a Vagabond for my car camping kit to upgrade that set up. Going away for 20 days in 2 weeks yes your favorite frustration.. Fishin 😂 But back to you, why a lightweight nylon ? Thought you would have migrated to canvas by now...much better performance...just curious 😂
I get the trial and error of it, but I have a 10 ft trailer that I have a tent on and it works great, and leaves me a ton of space for all of my camping gear as well as a permanent space for my tent. I am honestly thinking of getting a cap height bed rack for my truck so that I can carry either the tent or the kayaks on it depending of the trip I'm taking but for now the trailer carries them all.
I was skeptical of the really small trailer. The idea was good and your build looked pretty good. I’ve towed various small trailers (not as small as yours) with very little weight on them and they all bounce around like crazy...

Oh man sorry to hear that the trailer didn’t work out. It’s still a great idea and I think better than using the roof. You just need a much better trailer to build it on.
I don’t know what to say. I’m thinking of a boat trailer. For one it’s much longer so it will be easier to backup and they tow better and more efficient for what you want and you would have a better tire 🛞 choice. You would need to add to the frame but!

@brianwatersoutdoors i was thinking about doing the same thing with a small teailer, however I camp with a Gazelle T4 Overland tent. I dont want to get a roof top tent. Curious as to why you think it was unsafe. Was it top-heavy? What was the issue. I want to build a similar trailer to store all my equipment. I bring a lot of gear with me when I camp.
It was top heavy, too light, too short and needed an upgrade the wheels and tires to tow at highway speeds. All of these could be fixed with upgrades, but I did t want to throw anymore money into this after I did a “test tow” with the rig.

Hello Brian hope all is well and happy belated birthday. I have a question if you don't mind me asking; How much did you sell that little camper for?
Here I am with 20 questions. Are you not worried about any off gassing or the buddy heater catching anything on fire in the tent?
I’ve ran this heater in my truck for several hours when I had a shell with a carbon monoxide detector and it didn’t even register. You do need to be careful and not let it get close to anything, but it also has a safety feature that will shut the flame down if it’s tipped over. Just need to be careful
Brian, did you sell the roof top tent with the trailer?
Yes. Used that $ to get another RTT ordered. Will hopefully be here next week
