    Blow-by, from what I've learned is oil getting past piston rings or maybe Valve. Oil blowing Out of a Dipstick like you show, is Normal. Engine's I have do this. It is NOT "Blow-by" it is Normal. That's why most Engines have Crankcase Venting. Dipsticks go into the bottom of the engine where the Crankshaft spins also, that creates Splashing.

      No, it's not normal. I have serviced many of these units & a properly running one will have no oil or noticable pressure coming from the sump like that. It's combustion pressure and exhaust from worn or cracked rings. If it was a valve, the cylinder wouldn't fire. Oil pressure will never exceed combustion pressure, especially in a diesel engine. ~320psi if I remember correctly is pressure on these during compression.

    Hey I’m having issues getting coolant to flow into the radiator. I just bought this and it was drained/no batteries. Any thoughts on what the coolant wouldn’t actually go into the radiator?

      Completely full of rust? I've seen a few really bad. Usually it all fills easily.

    Is it possible to add extensions to the exhaust pipe? For mine, I have it placed behind my house, under the eves and would like make it to where the exhaust goes up and away from the eves. Any ideas?

      Thread onto the threaded fitting of the muffler. I'd recommend it not being under anything near your house.

    Im wondering do you ship your MEP generators to your home? The reason I am asking is I am having trouble getting someone to ship a MEP 804 to my home in Alaska.

      You would need to higher a hauler or freight company to get it.

    Hello sir,
    Thank you posting all of your videos on RUclips. Great information. I recently bought about 4 of these generators on gov planet. I just got them delivered. I have been able to look at 2 of them so far. They all seem to be in good condition but need somethings.
    My question is, do you happen to have a video of you showing how to operate these from start to finish? I ask because two of the ones I have, I got power to them with new batteries and with the switch inside I can get it to turn over/ crank but it won’t start. When I go to the front panel on both of them there is no power to the front panel at all and the switch on the front panel it will not crank up there due to there not being any power.
    Do you know where I can start with this to figure out how to get them running? Thank you so much for your time.

      I saw your e-mail as well & am replying. This video shows CB1, it may be an easy thing to check. ruclips.net/user/shortsAX9iZ3dL1yM

      No, I'm sorry. Most of the basic stuff is simple. Go for it!

    Great video. I picked up a Doosan G25 thst was inoperable and I got it running. The generator is pooched, so I'm fixing it up.

      I bought a Doosan G25 at auction and It starts but the governor shuts it off after 1 minute. It has good oil pressure, so I'm going to check the sensor.

    I babysat two of these all over the world some years ago. Pretty cool to see you working on them. Brings back memories.

      They're good generators and not bad to work on once you know them. Neglect is the big reason for failure on them.

    The cost to repair these generators is outrageous. Not so much the engine itself but all the electronics.

    • @CallMeColtLLC
      @CallMeColtLLC  Год назад

      On all the generators I have worked on, the electrical side usually is fine and just has something loose or needing to be cleaned up. Unless of course it's a missing gauge. Good, tested components do pop up. It's why I started my business.

    How long did you run it under load? What did compression test yield?

    • @CallMeColtLLC
      @CallMeColtLLC  8 месяцев назад

      I didn't run a compression test because there is no way to do so. I ran it under load ~45min, I think that's what I said in the video anyways.

      I'm slow! It's on the list. Took a while to gather everything I might need. Now I need the time. It makes a project 2-3 times longer to document it. I want it done. Hopefully soon.

    I’m have voltage issues with my mep-802a, do you answer questions about issues like that and if so how can I get in touch with you. Thanks

    • @CallMeColtLLC
      @CallMeColtLLC  8 месяцев назад

      Troubleshooting specific problems without seeing the unit in person can be hard. Voltage issues can be a lot of things. The Technical Manual has a tree for troubleshooting voltage issues or you can see what other people have done on SteelSoilders. Could be as simple as a loose wire to a bad regulator or stator. I have a few threads of my own that are old, but I've gone through a lot of them. www.steelsoldiers.com/members/callmecolt.87810/#recent-content
