Don's point about conflicting sponsorships - budlight/budweiser. Isn't it the same thing with the Nike logo? Judge is sponsored by Adidas, for example.

Nobody objects to the swoosh itself. It's where it's located. Put it on the sleeve, or on the back near the neck. It looks dumb where it is. I don't like it. It's throws the whole thing off for me. Especially on the Yankee uniform.

All the players are walking advertisements these are have Under Armour on their compressor sleeves batting gloves Fielding gloves with Etc or it's Nike or whatever company they are signed to. Derek Jeter had the Jordan logo on his batting gloves on his feet for basically his whole career tiny little check not a big deal compared to the giant logos on the shoes the batting gloves and everything else these guys wear

I’m fine with ads on the jersey as long as it doesn’t affect the look too much. How they do it in the Premier League is fine, one ad on the chest and another one on a sleeve. What would scare me is if they went the route of Liga MX or NASCAR where the uniform ends up looking more like a collage of ads.
see, I agree. I for one, don't mind the ads as long as they're done in a way where it won't junk up the jersey. The premier league is a great example of that.

At the end of the day, it's all about the money. Something feels off about them though. Not just the Yankees jersey, but even the Mets one. I like Majestic way better and refuse to buy anything from Nike.

The problem isn’t the swoosh it’s where they decided to put it rather than put it on the sleeve they put in the front of the jersey to counter what Rosenberg said about ccm and Reebok being on hockey jerseys those logos were located on the lower part of the sweater with a smaller logo on the cuff of the sleeve huge difference to what Nike did with the MLB jerseys

the pinstripes on the uniform by the shoulders have been running a different direction since 1973....go back and look....nice going mike...been working there and don't notice....if I could post a pic I would.....and if George wouldn't like the swoosh I don't either

The CCM logo was on the bottom of the back of the jersey, not prominently located on the chest

Everyone probably forgot that during the London series both Yankees and Red Sox had the Biofreeze logo on the side of there jerseys. The fact that Nike is the new mlb jersey maker doesn’t bother me since I always buy there products. But it will feel weird not seeing majestic not making mlb apparel anymore. Listen ya’ll eventually MLB is going to force the Yankees to make and sell a alternate jersey because one thing to note that the Yankee logo, the name and the brad as a whole will always sell no matter what.

At some point a player will come out and say I refuse to advertise X company and there will be a big problem. No ads, no matter how financially beneficial to the team it may be will avoid activism by players. It's really something worth considering.

I can't believe Michael Kay doesn't know that the stripes on the Yankee players' uniforms are different than the jerseys that people buy in the store. How about watching one Yankees game and actually taking a minute to look at the stripes on the uniform. (You can actually buy a jersey in the store with the correct stripes on the shoulders, but you're forced to get that goofy white "tail" section of the jersey, so basically nobody wants it.)

I agree with Don playing Devil’s Advocate here. Also, we’re more in outrage about the LOCATION of the Nike logo, not the logo itself. Put that on the bottom end of the sleeve, or on the back of the neck and call it a day.
Nike putting their logo on the front of everything they sponsor. Same thing happened with the NBA jerseys . At least put it on the sleeves for MLB.

Soccer is ridiculous. The ads on soccer jerseys are dead center and they are 5 times bigger than the TEAM LOGO!
It's going to be a trend. Once the floodgates are opened for something like this, there is no turning back. You will eventually see multiple ads on jerseys, and they will slowly creep closer to the center of the jersey like soccer, so they are more prominent
if the Yankees had a say and approved the change, i'd be upset. it was the league that made the decision and it's only temporary for as long as they have a contract with Nike.

Soccer and Nascar don't bring anywhere near the revenue that MLB does. MLB isn't struggling to stay afloat. So it was pointless even bringing up the other sports.

For their whole existence they trumpeted their fake "storied tradition" resisting any change to the uniform and grooming standards. But all of a sudden they have no problem ruining the jersey putting some garbage insurance company on the sleeve. And you're blind as hell if you don't notice them reading any form of media or collect any memorabilia. It's on all the images. And really sticks out like a sore thumb.

I think it's more about the location. Put it on the sleeve or something and it wouldn't be as much a problem. I agree with the shoulders that just looks stupid. I also think it becomes a problem because do any players in mlb have a Reebok endorsement or anything. What happens? Is reebok gonna be okay with that I think not which means you can cause them to lose endorsements and we know the players aren't seeing any of this money.

I'm a Mets fan, so I don't usually watch/listen anything from the YES Network (Yankees ain't got nothing on SNY or WCBS), so I'm not familiar with these guys...but Michael Kay is such a tool. Yes, other sports have no problem covering their player jersies head-to-toe in advertising, but have you considered that that's one of the things that set baseball apart from other sports? The swoosh is an abomination to baseball and reeks of corporate greed. Among the other things I love about baseball is that you can look at a picture of (e.g.) Jacob deGrom and see that he's wearing the same shirt today that Tom Seaver did back in the '60s.
