I loved this interview and I must apologize for some of the things I've said about Tyler Perry. I was one of those who criticized him for Madea and those plays. I have to acknowledge that there is a culture of hating within our community. I fell in line with that negativity. Tyler Perry is an out standing individual and we can critique our art without being negative. More power to him and I wish him more success.

This man is absolutely phenomenal. He is the definition of endurance. His movies have impacted me in tough times of my life. As a single mother at the time when his movies were out - they were the only movies I would go to the theaters and walk away feeling uplifted and not feel alone. I applaud his sacrifice, vision, and heart. He is highly favored and it shows in his fruit. The fact he took over land that was meant with evil intentions and he now owes it and has provided jobs for black and brown people. 😭🙌🏽❤️ May he be blessed with good health, more wisdom, anointing and favor all

half urban half suburban i don’t agree... it does matter because its a reflection how the community perceives its men... the black community uplifts the mothers but show disdain for fathers when both are important to a child’s growth into adulthood. Less profitable movies mean they will make less movies with positive male characters.

I am BLOWN AWAY by Tyler's success.
Sadly I use to trash this brilliant brother Tyler Perry. I would talk down about him and his movies to my mother and fathers and my family whenever they would come to visit us and bring them. Turns out I was only clowning myself in their eyes. I had developed self hatred from growing up in all white neighborhoods/private schools. As an adult I feel so ashamed a how I behaved. I'm grateful that now as an adult I have learned to help embrace, support my people and our hero's/business. Tyler is paving the way for black excellence for years to come.
The discussion on segregation is so true. Today many black businesses struggle.

I just started watching TIP'S podcast today it is a great podcast. But this podcast sticks out. I give tip credit he definitely has a knack to be a great interviewer. He asked Tyler Perry the real questions and kept it within context of the interview. I also got some jewels from watching this episode. Well said!.Tip explored the poor views of madea by black men. He fully explained that black men had a issue of being emasculated (the act of their masculinity being taken away).. Madea is not a vehicle or character that robs black men of their masculinity. Tip understands that Mr. Tyler Perry is a man of respect and worth.
Such a fan of Tyler Perry! His plays left quite an impression on me as a young adolescent! He presented women and girls in a way I hadn’t seen before and made me feel like someone saw what we were going through and what we endure growing up and and later as women and mothers. I have so much more respect for TI after listening to this interview than I did when I started. Truth be told, I'm blown away! I mean, I've always known TI to be a really good actor but, goodness gracious, I had no idea he could conduct an interview with such grace and tact. Georgia has such a RICH history. It has a very strong and powerful black history. Before the Trail of Tears, my tribe was originally in Georgia.
When I was younger my grandma and papa used to take us to the trail of tears(I’m from Missouri). I had no idea the importance of where I was til later in life. It used to be a bunch of ppl who’d go out there and walk the trail and there was water u could swim in and look at the diff history posts. I just used to love to go and swim lol. I really wanna learn more about it. Where I’m from there are many parks and rec centers and land etc named after different tribes so I know the history has to be deep
I hear him talk about Georgia all the time. Which is fine. I'm wondering what have he put back into his hometown New Orleans. I love everything about his struggle to rich story. I just remember seeing him in NOLA a long time ago.

I like TI podcast. My favourite episode was with Tiny, the lady and the Memphis gentlemen . The discussion about marriage kept me on edge and I laughed a lot.

I cant say I was a TI fan however this interview changed my perception of him. I was quite impressed and the warmth between him and Tyler was evident. Well done, TI.

This has become my favorite show. The respect that I have come to have for Tyler Perry is, even before this interview, immense. I will admit I was critical of him at certain points.

I adore Tyler Perry's work and admire him so much. His business success and personal growth is one of the best American stories I have ever witnessed. He is one my heroes and what an inspiration to me! He gets hit with a lot of criticism, much of which I don't understand why that happens, but he just gets up every day and does what is in his heart.
I remember watching his plays on bootleg dvd as a kid we had no cable this is all mom watched !! Look at him now! God bless
