3.select disk 0 [Disk number 0 is encrypted disk, please enter your encrypted disk number properly.]
4.list volume
5.select volume 1 [volume number 1 is encrypted volume, please enter your encrypted volume number properly.]
6.clean [Before cleaning the volume backup your data first]
7.create part pri

9.format fs=ntfs label=surface quick
10.assign letter=c

Seriously, not a Bot here- This is Genuinely a fantastic tutorial. You can pull up command prompt using Shift + F10 on the windows installation screen instead of using Restart + Shift to access Windows Recovery if that isn’t an option.
If the Letter for your partition is not available, just try letters in sequential order until you get confirmation that it was accepted.

This was very helpful. My employer contracts with a large software company and I have a laptop that I used to VPN into that companies internal network. This required me to install various type of security software to be compliant with the security places of that company. I am no longer using this machine to access that network and wanted to do a fresh windows installation. There seemed to be something setup on the computer to prevent a user from turning off Bit locker. Every time I tried it would begin decrypting for about 20 seconds then bit locker would turn itself back on and reencrypt whatever had been decrypted. This was a very easy workaround and I now have a brand new Win11 setup. Thanks!

Excellent work. Great help in recovering from Auto Repair brought about by a faulty update. Unknown to the user (whom only had a local account), the system drive was encrypted. The failed update put laptop in a repair loop, with no possibility of finding a recovery ID. You out did Microsoft with your procedure. Impressive. You have my deepest gratitude.

for those of u that have a missing disk drive after the fresh installation: I fixed it by right clicking This PC > Manage > Assign New volume or something like that and then the new volume wizard thing opened up and it worked!!!

I was in a big trouble when I formatted my C drive (system drive) and my other drives like D, E and F were locked by bitlocker and I didn't know the recovery key. After some trial and error, I finally was able to unlock those drive without losing the data.
Here is how you can also unlock your drives: (You need to have a dell laptop)
-Restart system and enter a BIOS mode (Keep pressing F12 if you are a dell user. For other manufacturers, key might get differ).
-After entering BIOS, you will see an option called 'SupportAssist OS Recovery' and press enter.
-Choose option RESET (This will re-install the factory operation system that came with the system when you had bought it)
-After choosing RESET, you will see 2 options: Reset to factory setting and Reset and update.
-Choose Reset to factory setting (You might want to take back up of your C drive if there are any important files stored on your desktop, documents, downloads, etc. because this will format your C drive (where windows is installed) and will re-install the factory OS.)
-It will take 15-20 mins and you are done!
-You will be asked setup your system (like new).
-Once it is done, you will see that your locked drives have been unlocked successfully and data is still there in the drives as you left.
THIS IS HOW IT WORKED FOR ME. I'M POSTING THIS IN ORDER TO HELP SOMEONE WHO IS FACING THE SIMILAR ISSUE.
This is the best tutorial and I've been struggling with this issue for months. I've scoured the internet for the right info!

For those wondering about the data retrieval procedure, I can assure you that once you format and erase the data, it will be gone forever, as it happened to me, and I tried more than 20 recovery software and none of them worked, so think carefully twice before attempting this.
I did 'diskpart clean' for my volume C and now there is only one partition showing.. Did my volume D also gone? and can't install windows to it.. it shows to format.. Can i recover volume D.. before format?

@@ismailbattal7730 you can't bypass BIOS passcode. Only way is flashing the BIOS or reset the BIOS to it's factory default.

My windows is corrupted. Trying to fix mbr but path not found c:/. Last resort is to format it. At first i cant format partition because of bitlocker. Found this video and managed to bypass. Thankfully my laptop dont have anything that important. This tutorial saved me $ from going to the technician 👏🏻

Thank you so much! No way would I have been able to figure that out on my own. The only suggestions I'd make are 1) it's a bit fast (it would be better to delay clicking on the next screen for a second or two), so I had to pause frequently and click back to see what I missed and 2) there was no explanation as to why you overwrote the Size @ 5:49. I assume that you must've installed a new, larger HDD but I assumed that mine automatically displayed the correct size for mine. Otherwise, thanks again--you've saved a lot of people a lot of time and hassle!

Ya sure you can create multiple primary partitions in drive. You need to know how much storage is required for Windows installation, usually 150 GB is enough, the more application you install, the more storage you need.

It means windows formatted. Reinstall the windows again. create bootable USB drive using Rufus tool.

Amazing video worked perfectly. But at 5:57 it seems like it separate the partition and now one is called unallocated space. Is it OK to leave it like that, since it's unallocated space will your computer have less space if I leave it like that?

Okay after installation of windows you can create new partition using unallocated space.
1) Just go to disk management
Or right click on start menu select disk management.
2) Right click on unallocated space
3) Select Create new volume
4) Follow on screen instructions
5) Format the drive as NTFS file system
6) Click on finish

After I resolved that I would lose all my data after a bitlocker key issue, this worked to get my laptop back.

Thought we were on to something. But when formatting the drive it responds with:
Volume selected to format is encrypted with Bitlocker Drive Encryption.
It will be removed and encrypted data will be erased
Proceed, run FORMAT with OVERRIDE paramter.
So I do that.
0 percent completed
Virtual Disk service error:
Bitlocker encryption on the volume could not be removed.
And now I feel like I'm back to square one.
Can you tell me the model number of your PC.

After doing these steps, now I have successfully re-installed windows 10, but there is a small problem, and the problem is, my wifi network adaptor is not showing 😢

I followed your method but the formatting part didn't work and now I lost my data on another partition, could there be a way to restore it all?
Use minitool data recovery software to retrieve your data back...
When I write diskpart, list volume, no storage disk appears for me. I did not find the solution. Note that I removed the disk and formatted it in another laptop, and when I put it back in, I find the same problem.

great thanks. One question, I had deleted some of the partitions before seeing your video but thankfully not the largest one (250GB). So after I followed your video I can install Windows n this 250GB partition but does that mean I can now never get access to the other partitions I deleted?

You can make an SSD, I had heard that if you do that command on an SSD you can end up decreasing the useful life of your SSD.

Is "surface" the type of computer you have? Do I substitute that for the type of computer I have? I'm a tech idiot and trying to do fresh install over a Bitlocker enabled computer that I don't have the recovery key for. Figured wiping and reinstalling is my only hope. I tried this on my hp pavilion and it worked. Im able to boot into the recovery usb drive i made but it just says "there was a problem resetting your pc". Anyone have any idea what im doing wrong?
I think your recovery usb is corrupted or boot file missing. Try to install fresh Windows once.
Automaticly My D Disk has beek locked 🔐 by bitloker. I don't have any Password . When i am Clicking Disk D it showing load key from USB drive. Help me Brother Please what should i do now?😭
1)Go to bitlocker drive encryption in control panel
2)Click on backup recovery key
3)Save the key as text file in USB flash drive/ pendrive
4)Open the recovery key text file then copy the 48 digit key
5) paste it in your D drive

After Odín all the command and exiting turned of PC when I tune es it back on it wouldn’t let me download windows from my drive it wouldn’t even read that I had a usb drive connected I think idk what to do help
