I like the way Apex Details does his testing. Scour multiple sections of a panel with different sanding grits from 800 - 2500 to see how far the product will correct. The same can be done with a pad. Cheers
hi saad, matt gibb here. excellent video. I think you may of used too much product as you said but of course it was a new pad. I find with microfibre that three large drops on a microfibre pad then rub it all over the pad is the ideal amount. priming it then adding three drops to me is too much. I also blow the mf pad out after two passes then go again. I might lose time compared to others due to blowing the pads out more but I am always in the maximum correction and finishing quality window this way. MF is the worst pad for hanging onto stuff, clogging up, heat and drying out.
Nice Vids. I was at your shop few weeks back and I can see you take care and pride. Unfortunately you weren't there at the time and my scratches and bird etchings are too deep
That was awesome. Thanks. Looked as though the MF noticablely cut more with hyper polish. When you used the compound, the wool closed the gap considerably.
Yep. In continued use, I've found I can often do a quick one step using wool where microfibre would leave micromarring. I think this is where its quite valuable. Its also nicer to use than MF, and doesn't need to be blown out as often.
Depends on the car, but optimum hyper polish, or carpro fixer are my two favourites these days. Hyper polish has been a go to for a long time now, it easily the best polish on the market IMO
I just bought some of the Rupes Yellow wool pads for 1-steps. I'm more concerned with finish when doing 1-steps, and I'm sure these will finish better than the Rupes Blue Wool. Although, I can obviously see from your video, the Rupes Blue Wool finish quite well. I just feel the yellow wool will finish more consistently over a variety of paint systems.
Isn't Optimum Hyper Compound blue in color and Hyper Polish pink? Was it really the polish used in this video? EDIT: I can read from the 1 gallon that is really is polish. Here one can see the colors ruclips.net/video/QgZMGBtkXXk/видео.html The medium cut wool pad (yellow) from Rupes is the one to use for a 1-step.
marios kosmidhs we donhave it and use it rarely but on softer paint with a polish it’s great. We use it when we can only do a light single stage correction, but the blue or microfiber pads leave too much haze, then the yellow wool comes out. It’s a great pad but most of our work is multi step so we don’t use it much but I have used it for polishing. Ultimately my opinion is worthless you need to rest for yourself and see how it fits in your workflow
@@Obsessioncardetailing My most work, is AIO enchasments and one step polishes with products like sonax ex 04-06, perfect finish, or scholl s20.generaly one steps..... in my world i do not do large 2 steps...so i think this yellow wool will help me a lot ...in my world............. Thanks you very much sir for your advices kind reegards from Athens Greece keep up your great work...
This video lost points for not knowing what panel wipe he was using- Also not using gloves - Also not going into more detail on what he was trying to explain.
Thanks for your feedback on this video from 2 years ago. Ill be sure to rehearse my next review, rather than give honest feedback based on first time use

really dose not take long to blow a microfiber pad out the more you blow them out the better the results and efficiently and correction of the pad
Great video mate, thanks for taking time to put this together

dwa360 bring it by so we can take a look, we can most likely make it better. Best to call ahead though just in case.
Hi, 3 years later, how are you liking the Rupes blue wool? Consistently finish better than MF cutting pad? Thanks.
It’s out most used pad after Rupes yellow foam.
what was the temperature difference on average, can you measure and give a feedback? thanks for uploading
Nikos Per MF was warm wool wasn’t. This is normal - even with wool on rotary it doesn’t get hot as wool gives Better airflow.
Hey Saad are you still using these pads mate? What’s the durability like on them?
Bailey Everard yep almost everyday. Durability is fine, pad durability is more about taking care of them and not abusing them.
Obsession Car Detailing great, thanks mate. going to pick up a few
Greta , thank you, I need to know the full name of the sprays, are they wax and grease removers or a methylated spirit spray?
Adelaide Wine panel wipe used to remove polishing oils. Carpro eraser, gtechniq panel wipe are two of many
I have a question, when I use compound rupes, can I give up immediately and a yellow sponge or I have to green and yellow
Dragan Seočanac you can usually go straight to yellow
Who makes the working light you are using? Thanks
Jay Miller that was a Hella Nova

Obsession Car Detailing what polish(es) do you like to use with the Rupes wool for 1-steps.

Obsession Car Detailing do you find hyper polish to finish good on soft black paint with a foam pad?

Dear sir did you ever used the yellow wool pad for DA from rupes? what is your opinion? please?

Sonax PF on a Rupes Yellow is my go to 1 step
Wow, definitely more scratches left on the wool side after hyper polish. Thanks for the good content.
Yes but wool finishes down better than MF. Compare the compounding haze between two.
Come on the Metairie did better all around
If you say so
