Since when does it become one person's "responsibility" to PROVIDE for another person's needs--especially when that other person is ALSO fully grown and has a husband who should be doing the providing for his wife and children?
When I first heard the epic that is *_"Do It for Dan!!!_* , I honestly thought that it was a rare kind of thing. I was wrong. It seems every fifth to third story is a similar situation. I am astounded by how many families are filled with such entitled people, but even more astounded at how delusional they are thinking that "family ties" nullify the law. I think the worst part is the whole "golden child" mindset that too many parents obviously have. Even when it isn't deliberate, many parents need to acknowledge how toxic it can be, even in minute ways. Lastly.. the "golden child" and his/her family (husband and kids) are ALWAYS "living beyond their means..." *_ALWAYS_* .. and that is why they end up "losing their homes. Carla in no way owes them anything, and David *surprisingly* had the decency to not really be on board with it. The mother and father actually being as absolutely convinced that "family should put themselves out of their comfort to help family" is really the bad part. The extended family are worse in this situation, because they REALLY show how misogyny is ingrained in families like those. Finding out the truth, that all of them have been living beyond their means to the point that they are in danger of defaulting and also going bankrupt in no way is surprising, especially David's gambling problem.. .and the affair he is having with cousin Jenny and the embezzlement as well.
If mom and dad were so concerned about Rachel and her family’s living situation, shouldn’t they as her parents have done something about it? What about the relatives who were imploring her to give up her home? Just because they live in the house, how did they think they could take a second mortgage on it? That’s like trying to get a second mortgage on a house you’re renting.

Do it for Dan is just a toxic family tradition at this point.

Es triste cómo las dinámicas familiares pueden ser tan injustas. Espero que encuentres la paz y el apoyo que mereces. ¡Eres igual de valioso/a!
Lifetime and Hallmark need to scout these stories for ideas.
"Experimental experiments" sounds kinda like an oxymoron, ngl...
