I ended getting kicked out at 20 in the moddle of the pandemic, trains shutting down at a certain time, and curfew enforced by irate police. The "This is my house." "You're being dramatic." "You're selfish and a brat" all for not tolerating unfair, toxic behaviors.
r/AmItheDoormat Any sane person would call the police and file trespassing charges. A tenant paying rent has legal rights. "This is my house" is not an excuse for violating a tenant's legal rights. OP should have sued for back rent after moving out.
I don’t know what country you’re from but you’re assuming this is from your country not all countries are like that my country they’ll tell you to take that to the Landlord tenant act and deal with it unless the landlord is actually in your unit without permission. seeing as how everybody else in the house was against her prove that she didn’t say to her mother yes you could go in there because you know her sister would sit there and say yes she did say that this morning, she told my mother that she could go in there with the kids and that the kids could start staying in there. That’s the thing most people don’t have stuff in writing when it comes to family, but it doesn’t make somebody not sane because they actually believe their family members. As for the mother thinking that she should pay rent when she doesn’t live there as a joke. It was a joke that the mother thought she should pay rent to begin with when she was taking away her child’s livelihood because she couldn’t work and the space she /he paid for.
Pathetic? Moving into someone’s house with your kids while not paying rent. Selfish and thoughtless? Mom bit the hand of the person who was actually paying her rent. What did she expect? Moving out was his only option.

I hope this family could heal but yea presuming this story is real and the facts given are accurate even if the mother’s side isn’t completely represented for him to move back their would need to be ground rules. Tenant or just an adult son staying at home to help mom that doesn’t mean his stuff are children’s toys and if he is using his stuff to make the money he helps the house with.

Internet stories aren’t always reliable and we often not always on purpose tell the people why we’re right and so these stories were talking about screw that mom. This kid does have some bratty undertones. But the reality is his equipment isn’t toys that’s how he pays rent to help his mom out and by paying rent he isn’t the child that Mom makes the rules. He is an adult contributing to the house hold and thus their better be question marks in the sentence. If his version is accurate mom made the mistake of taking her son for granted while not listening to him explain why things have to be off limits. The “this is how I make a living and if if breaks I’m screwed and your screwed” is not unreasonable. As for his mother telling her side is shy lying oh wait she left out parts that she didn’t think were important because she thought he was being selfish. Like do when we’re hurt and angry and wondering why people we love are mad at us. I’m fairly certain barring this being fiction or omissions by him his reasons seem valid just practically. And him raging about respect she thought he was her child under her roof rather than an adult offspring paying rent and can and should have a say. Personally I think the Mom is probably out of line even if it was just expensive not how he makes his money but I feel sad when I hear stories of people trying to do the right thing and forgetting other people have needs also. This is sad.
