- Departing the Pantanal, out of gas and unsure where to go, Chad and Rose backtrack to Bonito. Electing to postpone the Bolivian-leg of their trip, they head south once again, to one of the 7 Natural Wonders, and the largest series of waterfalls in the world - Iguazu Falls.
Or, technically speaking - Iguaçu Falls (the Portuguese pronunciation).
Break out the rain poncho and the lube - things are about to get and wild!

The narration, editing, humor and scenery is always a good time in your videos. I know nothing about making videos but I watch too many of them and yours are always my favorites. The 3D last supper alone must have been worth it for a couple traveling “in-betweeners”
We actually considered dedicating the rest of our trip to finding the most absurd Last Supper depictions, but unfortunately they are not listed on Google Maps as points of interest... 😁

Most of time, reality falls short for expectation. This was an exception. The falls are absolutely amazing, and that's coming from a guy who is admittedly, pretty burnt out on waterfalls.

It has been almost 50 years since I visited Iguazu. At that time it was pretty remote and fairly undeveloped, not a particularly easy place to get to and there were not a lot of people who did. I recently was talking with a Paraguayan acquaintance who grew up only a few km away. He was lamenting on how the commercial development around Iguazu has gone into overdrive and in his mind, greatly diminished the experience. Oh well, same can be said for so many other places in South America, Machu Pichu and the Galapagos being two that immediately leap to mind. As you correctly said in your last video, "see it now because it's rapidly going away." Thank you for sharing with us what is left.
I would have loved to see the falls 50 years ago! Without the double decker buses, the walkways, the themed restaurants.. must have been incredible!!
My first trip to Patagonia was in 2004.
Almost 20 years later, it has lost a lot of it's "ends of the earth" charm and has become a bucket list destination for, well... everyone!
One thing that decades of travel have taught me, is to never return. If you find a place that you truly love, get the most you can out of it at that moment. Suck the mirror from the bone and relegate it to your memory.
Let it live forever perfect, as you remember it.
Returning often results in bitter disappointment, tarnishing the memory of what was.
@amygregfrancisco4372 that's certainly a valid argument against posting videos like ours on social media. I know a lot of my own personal "secret spots" that have been ruined by people posting them online.
Luckily, there seems to be a bit of an ethic evolving regarding not disclosing specific locations and / or details for the locals-only swimming hole.

Yeah, I was stoked we caught that on tape. We came across another bird of prey in the middle of the road, that couldn't take off fast enough with the snake in its mouth, so it decided to let it go, right in my lap!! 😅
