    I AM SO HAPPY you got a video of this up. For my two yellow bellies, i'll be getting this 300 gallon. Sadly they will be on the floor. but will be a HUGE improvement over what they got. Can't wait for black friday to get the FX6.

    I'd really like dimensions of each set of boxes. I need to house koi in my garage over Minnesota winters. This would be extremely helpful. Thanks

    nice video! I have the same one for axolotls, but I just put a bunch of cinder blocks under it and didn't get as fancy as building a wood stand.

    Do you have any suggestions for how to cover the stock tank? Is there a way to cover it with screen? My cat will try to jump in the tank without something covering it.

    Confused why you did not just use the blocks and put a piece of plywood on top.

  • @stevemac400

    Greg, I looove your videos. You seem to have the answer I need too. With these rubbermaid stock tanks, how did you increase the bulkhead size with those two stupid notches on both sides of the hole on the inside of the tank? Do any of the standard schedule 80 sizes fit between them? What did you use? These stock rubbermaid plugs are crap! Thanks a lot dude! Steve

    • @gregjonesonline
      @gregjonesonline  10 лет назад

      Thanks Steve, I used a 1.25" or 1.5" bulkhead which thankfully fit just inside those notches, i did shave the inside diameter of the hole a little bit to get the bulkhead through. it wasn't schedule 80

    • @stevemac400
      @stevemac400 10 лет назад

      The bulkhead you have in your 300 turtle tank is not a schedule 80? I have a 1.5" sch 80 and its not even close to clearing those notches lol its driving me crazy. I know with an 80 I won't even have to worry about leaks.

    Whats the piece of wood in the middle of the tank? Is it driftwood and where could I get one?

  • @GUYANAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

    beastmode how long did it take? also why did u plug the drain? why not make a manifold along the bottom to suck up everything while it drains...i always thaught about that to do w/c on a stocktank

    • @gregjonesonline
      @gregjonesonline  10 лет назад

      it took a few hours, i'm afraid any pvc pipe that enters the tank would be beat up and loosened by the turtles, also, this sits higher than my basement sump pump barrel, so i should be able to siphon directly out of the house from the top as opposed to the bottom of the stock tank, if you have a design/sketch though PM me, i'd like to see

    Hi greg, I did some research and found out some preform pond tubs seem to need support if keeping above ground. would you think concrete blocks up the sides will hold the tub together?

    • @HeroBearKing
      @HeroBearKing 9 лет назад

      i would be worried that the concrete block would cut into the stock tank, unless placed strategically like Greg did.

    • @gregjonesonline
      @gregjonesonline  9 лет назад

      +zerobot002 as long as you go with a stock tank, they are designed to support their own weight when full, i'd avoid any preforms that can't support their own weight.

    Hi, just got this exact one. Are you able to share your dimensions on an awesome build.

    • @gregjonesonline
      @gregjonesonline  8 лет назад +4

      +Donna Saunders i don't have the dimensions off hand, looking back you could probably toss it right on the concrete blocks or just add a sheet of plywood in between and be fine

    • @JulesAskalotl
      @JulesAskalotl 8 лет назад

      ah I was a little worried I missed something when I saw this video, because I just put mine on cinder blocks and didn't build a form fitting stand. Nice to know that it is okay to do it without the wood.

    hey, i bought the rubbermaid 150 gallon stock tank and the bulkhead is leaking. any advice?

    • @gregjonesonline
      @gregjonesonline  9 лет назад

      +Mechashiva76 it probably needs to be tightened slightly, however, i would recommend getting a better bulkhead, the ones that come with it are garbage, schedule 80 bulkheads will never leak.

    • @Mechashiva76
      @Mechashiva76 9 лет назад

      +Greg Jones (Greg's Fishroom) do you have a recommendation? like an amazon link. i have no idea what the stock bulkhead is. it looks like the main bulkhead thread is a 2" diameter. (found this on amazon: Bulkhead Fittings Sch 80 2 Inch Thread x Thread) also, do you have a drain valve or recommendation?

    • @Mechashiva76
      @Mechashiva76 9 лет назад

      +Greg Jones (Greg's Fishroom) hey, i kinda got the whole stock tank thing figured out, but my turtle is acting funny. He acts like he's starving but he won't eat his favorite foods anymore. Like green leaf lettuce, kale, or even treats like strawberries. he's been in it a month now. he'll eat turtle pellets and when he sees me come over to his tank he starts paddling hard like he's saying "FEED ME", but he won't eat foods that are good for him. any advice? he used to really go after green leafy things, which i know are good for him.
