Sugar Punch does a pretty good job detailing what many DMC for years have felt about the franchise. My favorite part about Kamiya making DMC is that he famously hates horror games despite being so good at it. He even worked with Shinji Mikami later to make a third person cover shooter like Gears of War that is built to keep you out of cover. The MC is also a bit in line with what he likely wanted Dante to be. It's called Vanquish. Also Dino means "Dante in name only". One of the other names Dino is known by is Donte popularized by a meme where someone played in the Spanish dub and modded a mustache onto him. 14:54 It is really sad to know the reasons for Dante's attitude in the anime, the anime shows one or perhaps the worst moment of Dante's life. Many of his friends who were mercenaries died on a mission and the survivors blamed Dante for what happened, his best friend dies, one of his daughters dies (whom Dante had to kill to free her from her suffering), the other 2 daughters of his friend hate him for thinking that he was responsible for what happened to their father and even when they hate him, Dante still gives them money because he feels that HIS BEST FRIEND'S death is his fault... Dante only uses the humor and that cocky attitude to hide the pain he feels.

What a lot of dmc fans didnt realize about the reboot is that it was capcom who insisted to change dante and not ninja theory. They wanted their brand in dante to be theirs alone, which lead to ninja theory having their hands tied on what they can do with the character. You can see that ninja theory's other games actually have good stories, and their action gameplay was arguably smoother than previous dmc games and was actually adapted into the dmc 5 game. For people who actually played the reboot, instead of complaining due to the bad trailers, you will see how the devs being torn on giving fans what they want and keeping their agreement with capcom affected the game itself. Dante's personality in the beginning was bad but shifted somehow at the end to be more similar to capcom's. They kinda sneaked in the white hair too, etc. Dmc 3 and 5 are still my favorites, but reboot isnt as bad as people say if u keep in mind and accept that its a different universe/ character. I would even rank the reboot higher than dmc 4 as im not a fan of emo- final fantasy version of nero. Let alone dmc 1 and 2.
The music that's in the beginning of the video, that's from, Capcom vs SNK 2: millennium fight 2001, that is a very fun game, then it automatically moves over to another video game music that I'm not familiar with.
That channnel has tones of good videos, he does loads of stuff to do with fighters aswell, definitely worth it to react to more, especially his animation critiques of mortal kombat and breakdown of designs like Rock Howard
Thanks as always for such enjoyable reaction videos! Im not sure how like..wide ranging the content your willing to react to. But both from a content perspective and just because I think you two would love to react to it. I was going to suggest you try reacting to Vtuber lore videos. A great example would be all of the Vshojo(A Vtuber company)'s lore videos that even have a running narrative of sorts. Amazing content creators with awesome lore. There is also a SPECIFIC and very iconic fan made video that I think you would LOVE to see. It's called Myth's Bad End. It's a fan made video but the quality is out of this world! Regardless keep up all the fantastic reactions!!
I actually really like Dino DMC XD It was the first I've ever played, so I came with a fresh perspective, without knowing who Dante really was, also I was in my teen rebellious years, so it worked for me. The gameplay is really fun, the problem for the fans us that it was called Devil May Cry, if it was a completely original title with similar story I believed it would've worked much better. Btw, my first tattoo came from this game, if u ever play it I'll point it out, not to give u spoilers
That happens a lot with games, like Assassins Creed Valhalla. People say it’s not a real AC game but it sure is a fun Viking game. We will still check the reboot out. We have to make our own assessment and maybe just take it as it’s own thing. An homage instead of a remake 🙂
One thing I'll give the DMC: Devil May Cry reboot is that it's gameplay is actually pretty fun and fluid. A friend of mine that tends to skip cutscenes in games said that gameplay wise he prefers the reboot over the originals, but of the cutscenes he has actually seen he preferred the original.
I'd recommend you guys watch a lot more of A.B.I / Sugarpunch's content. they got a lot of cool stuff like A.B.Itorials, Design Shops and Style Selects.
Here's one thing that I know of the color red and blue, the color blue, gives you come feeling and then you've gotten red, gives you the opposite feeling of blue, alarming, intense and xcetera, there's more examples, when it comes to the color red and blue, but you get it.
great video guys, I recommend you watch In Mind of: Vergil from the King J. Grim channel I really love that video it serves to show that these characters are more well developed than it seems.
4:11 the character on the right is from bloody roar 3 who came out in the year 2000,1 year before the original DMC came out so dante is the one who copied it.
"His guns are ineffective against demons" Just ignore Dante literally killing a stronger version of Mundus and Argosax with his pistols. "Dmc5 made the anime canon" The anime was always canon. Literally nothing in the anime contradicts the main series.
There are plenty of people who enjoy it. Some have said it’s a fun game just not a dmc game and we’ve heard that about some recent Assassins Creed games as well. We’ve been told to check it out ourselves just to form our own opinion 🙂
Also if you're looking to react to longer videos like these I'd totally recommend the video "Fatal Fury - Peak 90s Arcade Action - Fighting Game Retrospectives" by the channel Thorgi's arcade
GLAD ur watching this! This is one I wanted u to see. I also reccomend A.B.I'S Fat Characters, MKX,INJ2 and MK11 A.B.I torials AND, His Guilty Gear STRIVE video. AARRG SO MANY GOOD VIDEOS.
To be honest when I came to the original Dante, he was already relatable to the American audience, just by being rootin tootin, but the reboot version, he's just Fonzie, but barely counts is a cool.
Loved the reaction! You should react to the "The texas Chain Saw Massacre: The first Hands-on Preview" by IGN and the "The texas chain saw massacre- official unrated cut gameplay also by IGN! Theres also some behind the scenes mocap footage that you might find interesting to watch (thats on the Gun channel but can also be found on the IGN channel)
I do think DMC did sort of kind of but not really get a bad wrap. I mean if the game wasn't called Devil May Cry, then the game could have been something. Not sure what, I mean Dino is still the slimiest main character out there, and having an unlikable protagonist is a challenge. But still, trying to ride the franchises coat tails really does ask the question on why not just play another dmc game. That and having the mouth piece of the game actively antagonizing the community he's trying to sell said game too isn't really the smartest thing to do. And companies keep doing it. Boggies the mind. Recently(ish) Saint's Row did the same thing with it's reboot. "Don't like it, don't buy it." Nobody bought it........(I know that wasn't the only reason, the game was just bad but still.)
Can't wait for dmc 6 whenever its gonna come out. It hinted in the prequel novel for dmc 5 that Dante could've had a child with that girl from dmc 2. In the books which is canon it's confirmed that she's the only female character in the series that loves Dante. Trish views Dante as a bother since she is a demonic clone of his mother and they share similar DNA and Trish see Dante as her best friend. The girl from dmc 2 is the only girl that actually liked Dante. In the prequel novel for dmc 5 which takes place after dmc 4 Dante visits her island again and that girls grandmother gives her blessing for her to marry Dante but Dante doesn't even know about it and the novel ends shortly after a fight Dante has where he breaks the ice nunchucks from dmc 3 when fighting the monster where he got the gauntlets in dmc 5 from. So there's a chance he had a child with her. That novel takes place a couple years before dmc 5 so if he does have a child it is probably still a little kid now.
The DmC reboot is actually the only DmC game I played since I never owned a Playstation 1 I sort of dismissed the series as a whole once it got 4 entries deep (I remember trying 4 but not getting into it). The game itself is actually pretty good, it's the sort of streamlined design that is sort of expected from mainstream titles because at the time this is when the casual market really started to take over the hardcore audience in terms of numbers and every developer and their mother was rebooting games to appeal more mass-market. Most of the time this went about as bad as you'd expect (alienate fans, very few new players try it game flops etc) but I remember DmC 2013 being not so bad at all, but I had zero attachment to classic Dante and didn't even really know who he was at the time, but the gameplay and parkour elements was very fun
Clearly they’re speaking from a design standpoint but some things aren’t accurate statements Ebony and Ivory for example aren’t even close to normal handguns, and neither are any of the others. They are specifically designed for Devil Hunting. Ebony and Ivory themselves fire Dante’s demonic power rather than actual bullets (Dante’s powers just turn into bullets since even basic demons have shown the ability to reality warp). It’s why they can go from weakest attack in the game to one-shotting Argosax in DMC2 (a being on par with Mundus). Also it isn’t a retroactive depiction for DMC1 Dante to have Rebellion. DMC TAS and Project X Zone both came out after DMC3, and take place after DMC1 (though only TAS is canon of the two). DMC3 retcons the story into Rebellion being Dante’s first, with the manga solidifying it. It’s a great analysis for design philosophy and some history tidbits but don’t take the lore aspect as accurate.
Well this bad Dante is AKA NeoDante or Don'te 😅😅🤣 it's good trying of one reboot... And if we looking the concept art the possibly Red Dante constume ... Maybe looking very cool and modern classic
I dont know if its patreon exlusive, but can I request that ya react to all Fire emblem Music/and or game opening cutscene which usually has the main song or should be on RUclips as well! from 2010 and up like Awakening, Fates, Echoes, 3 Houses, I'm not sure about older titles but their might be a compilation of all music somewhere 'round here starting from beginning to end I do think the both of you will enjoy it :)
As usualy. love ur guys content. Keep at it. But here is a questione. When will you to Titanfall 1-2 full story ark. Titanfall 1 story u can just look up on videos, but titanfall 2 I recomend aither experiance urself in campain or get a full walkthrue of it. Take care and be safe. And Happy This year :D :From Estonia :D
The way I would fix DmC: Devil May Cry in the timeline. DmC: Devil May Cry - Teens Devil May Cry 3 - 20s Devil May Cry - 30s Devil May Cry 2 - 40s Devil May Cry 4 - 50s Devil May Cry 5 - 60s
DMC Reboot it's not Bad Games but it's Inverse total for Devil May Cry Original because Devil May Cry it's Japan and DMC it's Européen. Dante is Knight White Very Holiness guy Like Goku , Superman and Dino it's inverse but it's culture. It's Culture Différente. Devil may cry in Arabe it's One Thousand night i think poetic and Funny , Badass.
I'm a lot softer on the DmC game now that I have DMC 5. As a replacement for the series it was totally inedaquate. Especially in its original release. Luckily the devs noticed that most people modded their way into this fine action game becoming more of a DMC game. And they made the game better. Geniuinely. In a gameplay sense, anyway. The characters can't be salvaged. Anyway, I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that the DmC Dante is just trying hard to upstage the real Dante. That's the impression I got from the director of the game. Basically "All you liked about this series is dumb, wrong and especially, it's gay. And gay is bad, of course, because I'm Tameem Antionades and I fuck chicks ALL the time!" You're wrong for liking the game that sold like three times more(and was considered a failure) than this thing that replaces it. As I said, I mellowed out on the game. It's a really nice action game. It just threatened to replace the best action games in the business. You can't settle for "nice" in that instance. Now I see it as a really good spinoff. The game might have done better if it was sold as such.
21:42 Oh no! This "Devil May Cry" reboot game was developed by the same gaming studio that developed Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. I'm not a fan of the rebooted Devil May Cry. They were trying to do something different, but they end up butchering what we love about Dante and Vergil. Even Mundus felt strange. Long story short without spoiling anything, gameplay wise, it's kind of fun. Story wise, it's not good. However, if you two check it out, I'm curious to hear you two's thoughts.
I agree. If the character wasn't Dante, it might of been a little better. It would also be interesting to see Dante mentor him too, along with introducing angels into the Devil May Cry universe. Missed opportunity. But, glad we have Devil May Cry 5 😃
honestly, dmc1 is the only game in the franchise we ever see Dante snap aswell as in 5 i like that you can see the wacky wohoo pizza man facade breaking
To think that if we didn't get DMC we would of never gotten Bayonetta and other games like it. And sadly your character doesn't actually sound like Dante or you get a rating in Monster Hunter World.
21:45 I disagree. This version of Dante isn't bad. It's just the fanboys who rejects everything that is not "original" dmc related. Thus why, almost everyone calls this game bad and this version of Dante too. When, in fact, it is not the character that sucks. It's the fanboys. You see, there is two types of fanbase for everything: fans and fanboys. First type is the people, who understand everything. When they see something new, they take it, look at it, and if it is really good, or just good, then they will take it and call it just that, a good thing. But the second type, which is fanboys, is who we are talking about here. They are those, who rejects everything, if it is not OG source material related. Because, they don't want to evolve. They don't want to grow. All they want, is to stay in one place and degrade. They don't accept anything new to look for something cool. They just focused on the old stuff but with the new look, and if it is something new and not the old, then it is automatically turns bad in their eyes and mind. Thus why many considered DmC reboot a bad game. Because, fanboys does not accept anything new. They want old stuff, but not new, and that is the problem. That is why DMC 5 doesn't have new fighting system. It's the same system as in previous games, just to please fanboys who will scream their soul out of their mouth, if you don't give them what they want. Sure, DMC 5 looks cool, feel cool and has cool story, but it's core and mechanics stays the same since DMC 3. Which is a bad thing because, the game didn't evolved. It degraded, and didn't brought anything completely new to the table. Sure, the series tried to reboot itself with DmC reboot, bringing everything new to the table, but thanks to fanboys, we don't have anything new.
I like Sugar Punch, DMC and the music but DMC music is not fit really well into this video. In the game, the chaotic music sit really well with the chaotic nature of the fight, it makes you hype up and energetic... in other word it emulate what Dante feel during this fight. But, in this video the music is very distracting from the narration. I having hard time focusing on the narration cause the music keep hyping me up.
I honestly wouldn't bother with DmC Devil May Cry. Not only is it not faithful to the source material in both characterizations, writing, story, designs, and lore (they made Donte's mother a literal angel and Sparda be a prisoner in the underworld for fuck sake), but the guy behind it actively hated Dante's iconic design, which included making a homophobic joke at OG Dante's expense and directly mocking the classic look, games, and their fans.
Guys, I'm begging you to watch Max0rs Ultra Kill videos. It's a new game that's really blowing up right now and he does a great way of summarizing the game, explaining lore and making the whole thing super entertaining

That’s pretty shaky. In the chronologicaly first thing that happens in DMC4, Dante seems like his usual self when talking to Lady and Trish.

I agree it isn’t as bad as people are making it out to be.
Suger Punch is awesome in his fighting and action games exploration videos!
The music that's in the beginning of the video, that's from, Capcom vs SNK 2: millennium fight 2001, that is a very fun game, then it automatically moves over to another video game music that I'm not familiar with.
Not going to lie DMC or Dino I like the gameplay of that game than others DMC I like it a lot actually
Thanks for the channel recommendations. We do love good lore video 🙂
This is going to be great!
I actually really like Dino DMC XD
It was the first I've ever played, so I came with a fresh perspective, without knowing who Dante really was, also I was in my teen rebellious years, so it worked for me.
That’s what we’ve heard a lot for those that enjoyed the reboot. That the gameplay was a lot of fun 🙂
Its fine, but it starts to run out of depth.
Really the game is fine overall just didnt need to have the IP it did.
YESS!!!!!!!!!! Finally Design Shop. PLEASE CONTINUE TO REACT TO HIS VIDEOS PLEASE. ITS ONE OF MY FAVORITE VIDEOS
(2013) Neo Dante , yes ... And if Neo Dante become little classic Red suit
That's my baby... Sorry 😂 and cool with the suite looks like The Crow ⬛🟥
14:07 I can not unsee it now 😂
great video guys, I recommend you watch In Mind of: Vergil from the King J. Grim channel I really love that video it serves to show that these characters are more well developed than it seems.
Well... With A.B.I on the radars, it's time for me to suggest ulricksaladbar!
Vergil analysis next haha!
Can you reach all tales game openings? They have really good animation, song, and maybe a little bit of plot of the game for you guys to reach
More or less, the reboot version of Dante, at the time he was the predated Velma.
This was a great video and reaction. I should check out more of Sugar Punch's stuff
4:11 the character on the right is from bloody roar 3 who came out in the year 2000,1 year before the original DMC came out so dante is the one who copied it.
"His guns are ineffective against demons"
Just ignore Dante literally killing a stronger version of Mundus and Argosax with his pistols.
"Dmc5 made the anime canon"
The anime was always canon. Literally nothing in the anime contradicts the main series.
Ayo, guy just went visiting a church and made a game about a demon lmao
I've never seen that video before, but that was a pretty interesting video about Dante...👍💪
Greay reaction guys! Next plz react to the entire Resident Evil story timeline video.😁
That was very good, I'm going to have a look into this RUclipsr.
Can we see the voted and handselected picks from the list somewhere? I'm curious what i could watch out for^^
Guess im the only one who likes dmc reboot
There are plenty of people who enjoy it. Some have said it’s a fun game just not a dmc game and we’ve heard that about some recent Assassins Creed games as well. We’ve been told to check it out ourselves just to form our own opinion 🙂
I hope you check out the dmc reboot sometime because i loved how you ripped into dmc2
That novel takes place a couple years before dmc 5 so if he does have a child it is probably still a little kid now.
but he still doesn't know who nero's mom is
You guys should do reaction videos for Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal, it's a must watch
I am writing this to help out ken and Bethany and this video and this channel with the algorithm ♥️✌️😘😊
Go look up the Spanish version of the reboot, Dino sounds better, sounds like old Dante.
El Exterminados De Demonyos.
You two would definitely enjoy the Guilty Gear Strive Design shop, if you enjoyed this one.
The DmC reboot isn’t as bad as people are making it out to be the game is actually very fun, but story wise it is definitely not good.
Clearly they’re speaking from a design standpoint but some things aren’t accurate statements
Ebony and Ivory for example aren’t even close to normal handguns, and neither are any of the others.
Dino will grow on you 😂
Video idea: react to memories fnaf vhs it takes a very interesting take I think you would like
Well this bad Dante is AKA NeoDante or Don'te 😅😅🤣 it's good trying of one reboot...
You should watch Castlevania lords of shadow 2 cutscenes and shadow of Mordor cutscenes and shadow of war cutscenes/gameplays
16:58 Yikes 😂
22:04 😂
37:23 😂

DmC: Devil May Cry - Teens
Devil May Cry 3 - 20s
Devil May Cry - 30s
Devil May Cry 2 - 40s
Devil May Cry 4 - 50s
Devil May Cry 5 - 60s
Just waiting for the demon slayer hinokami kronicles quick time events reaction
Hello!
DMC Reboot it's not Bad Games but it's Inverse total for
Devil May Cry Original because
Devil May Cry it's Japan and DMC it's Européen.
Dante is Knight White Very Holiness guy Like Goku , Superman and Dino it's inverse but it's culture.
It's Culture Différente.
Devil may cry in Arabe
it's
One Thousand night i think poetic and Funny , Badass.
You guys should do reactions to the horizon zero dawn teaser trailers
And gay is bad, of course, because I'm Tameem Antionades and I fuck chicks ALL the time!"
You're wrong for liking the game that sold like three times more(and was considered a failure) than this thing that replaces it.
As I said, I mellowed out on the game. It's a really nice action game.
It just threatened to replace the best action games in the business. You can't settle for "nice" in that instance.
Now I see it as a really good spinoff.
The game might have done better if it was sold as such.
Would you two watch Devil May Cry Anime
non canon dmc about punk boy actually have pretty interesting visuals. So its not that bad
Please react onimusha. this good capcon hack and slash game series from capcom.) Behind devil may cry and resident evil.
You guys should react to High On Life
honestly, dmc1 is the only game in the franchise we ever see Dante snap
aswell as in 5 i like that you can see the wacky wohoo pizza man facade breaking
Pls react to saints Row 3 and saints Row 4
Would you please react to HALO FALL PF REACH??
DON'T CHECK OUT DMC REMAKE, I BEG YOU !!! 😊
Please do Genshin Impact Character Demos reaction🥺
I honestly wouldn't bother with DmC Devil May Cry. Not only is it not faithful to the source material in both characterizations, writing, story, designs, and lore (they made Donte's mother a literal angel and Sparda be a prisoner in the underworld for fuck sake), but the guy behind it actively hated Dante's iconic design, which included making a homophobic joke at OG Dante's expense and directly mocking the classic look, games, and their fans.
That guys voice annoys me lol 😆
I'm not talking about the reactor, the person who made the video
Really?! Why?
The video is vary bias against the Ninja theory game
Plus the writing in DMC 5 is terrible
Guys, I'm begging you to watch Max0rs Ultra Kill videos. It's a new game that's really blowing up right now and he does a great way of summarizing the game, explaining lore and making the whole thing super entertaining
