Your Mama is so Precious 🥰 she wears her hair the way my Mama did and her hands how she pats using them as a tool brings back so many happy memories! I catch myself watching her to remember mine! Your Mama cooks like mine did and she has helped me to up my cooking skills💁Thank you for sharing her with us.
Thank you for showing these. I discovered your videos after your mama passed on to Heaven. Now, I can see both of your videos. Your mama seems so genuine.❤❤❤❤
Even though she said corn meal, that was actually buttermilk corn meal mix which does have flour and leavening in it (someone had asked if she used any flour). I love fried okra--it looks delicious!
Fried is the only way that my Momma could get me to eat Okry. Yes I grew up in the hills of Arkansas hearing the women call it that, so even at 62 I still call it Okry. I am so happy that I found your channel. Everything that you cook brings back so many great memories of my Momma, Grand Mother and Aunts cooking. God Bless Y'all.
I love your Momma's videos!!! She seems like such a precious lady. I would like to see her plate her food and maybe even see you all enjoying her good food.
I love fried okra. Thank you for sharing your wonderful cooking tips with us. Every time i watch one of your videos it brings back wonderful memories of my mom growing up. I’m about your age too. My middle name is Joyce so that’s another way i connect with you.
OMgosh. So happy that I found this channel. Recipes coming back to life from my Grandma and Mom. And very sweet to see a Mother and Son love. Keep it coming. May I ask? I grew up on a dessert recipe. Founded in depression era. VINEGAR COBBLER. Our roots were in OKlahoma. My Grandma and Mom passed now. We younger generations seek food we remember.
Nothing is better than hot fried okrey. It is just yummy. My Granny used to make peas and butter beans. When they were done she’d lay okra on top and steam those few okra. They are soft and yummy. I’ll be cooking okra tomorrow. 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻Love you♥️
Moma Joyce, the fried okra looks delicious! I cook mine the same way except I add just about 1 tbsp of bacon grease to the Crisco oil. The bacon grease adds a little extra yum.
Momma Joyce it is a pleasure watching you cook real food for real people. You use ingredients that most of us have or can get. I love how friendly and cheerful you are. You're like the neighbor we all would love to have. Your son is so nice too. You raised him right! Thank you.
I am also Southern and I LOVE me some fried okrys with my favorite sody waters. God bless her. I just love watching her cook and listening to her talk. My grandmother used to also make fried green tomatoes fresh from the garden.
I love mama Joyce, she reminds me of how my mother cooked and how I cook. She is such a beautiful sweetheart and I love watching her cook and that little laugh when she gets to Taste Time. Lol
I enjoy watching your momma cook. Like so many others, her presentation brings back memories of my grandma and mom cooking. I have tried so many of her recipes. You are so lucky to have her cook for y'all. Thank you for ALLthe wonderful cooking videos!
I let mine thaw slightly and pepper it and use half flour and half cornmeal. It seems to stick better partially thawed. Then salt and more pepper when done.
Tonight is "Thanksgiving Eve" 2019. I just found your videos tonight. I am around your age. Born and raised in deep DEEP South Alabama where cooking always was and is a THING. Trying to cook my Mama's recipes tonight and searching for those Childhood memories and tastes and I fail at every turn it seems. My Mama has been gone for 7 years now...she LOVED Thanksgiving and cooking....this day is always DIFFICULT! How I WISH I had preserved those recipes and moments on video like you are doing...a day will come that these vids are more valuable than gold to you! Thanks for sharing....
Just got on your channel and I love you already, you remind of how my Mama used to cook, and my parents had 11 of us 6 boys and 5 girls, this how we ate loving everything I'm seeing! THANK YOU 👌
I could eat Okry every week! I have a wheat allergy thought I had to give up Fried! Would only put it in soups and lightly stir fry! This is the Best recipe ever and love the cooking tip not to stir it up, but lightly turn it over! I wish you were my Mamma growing up!
Mama Joyce, can you do muchrooms this way? I was so happy to see you use the bag method of coating this. My dear mother-in-law always did this for her chicken. She was born in 1910 and taught me so much about cooking.
I'm not a fan of okra, but I love to watch you cook. Keep it up your the bomb. Do you put your cornmeal in the freezer to keep from getting buggy, I put all dry goods in the freezer, love ya. 🙏❤🙂🥰
My favorite summer garden vegetable is okra! Boy I wish I was in your kitchen right now 😊 I don't think I could ever have too much okra- fried, boiled, pickled, just love it any kind of way😁
I sat a peeled banana on one of those plastic bags and less than 5 minutes the dye came off and my banana tasted strong of chemicals. Old school was to use a brown paper bag.. that okry looks Devine 👌
Momma Joyce can you do fried green tomatoes? And have you ever mixed okra and green tomatoes and fried them? One more request please can you do fried corn fritters?
Hi Sweet Joyce, I love your videos and being in the kitchen with you. I did see your chicken and dumplins and do you also make chi ken and noodles ? Thanks. Love you. Xx

I like pan fried, better, like mama is doing, here. A restaurant here in Branson serves okra that seems to be Deep Fried. Nope. I don't like hard, crusty deep fried. She is doing it right.❤
I would love her to make liver and onions. I bet she does a good job on it and I love it but I’m not for sure how to do it. I know there’s a lot of people out there that love liver and onions
I know I am going to miss Momma a lot. Yet you are there to carry on for her. I noticed she used Wesson oil. Nowadays it is not a healthy oil. You are better to use Avocado oil for frying.

Not enough oil in pan and way overcrowded in pan
Judith Ryle Rude remark, it is her show, and it works for her! 🙄
@@hummingbird275 not rude at all. I have watched other videos on cooking okra and they all say to not overcrowd the pan.
