$8 a piece and an on card scratch is part of it. Unbelievable. To equate this to video games, it would be like finding a copy of Stadium Events at a garage sale. Scratch is recognized as the masterpiece or “52 Topps Mickey Mantle” of TMNT figures. It’s unbelievable these were at a garage sale, let alone for $8 ea.
Yep, this is like a twilight zone event.
It happens. That’s why I tell fig hunters to look for and hit random yard sales instead of planning based on Facebook advertisements. I personally got an entire collection of vintage Power Ranger toys for $10 that I ended up selling for 4k.
The woman said they were her sons and she just wanted to clear space. “Old lady” yard sales don’t pay out every time, but they hit HARD sometimes.

Be careful with the unpunched carded ones, if the tab falls out then it becomes punched and drops in valve. The scratch the cat still has the tab but barely hanging in
Finding 2 of the rarest turtles on card for 8 bucks is wild. There’s others that are just as valuable like dinosaur shredder. Definitely got some grails.

So scratch was short packed back in the day meaning it was already hard to come by back then and then of course after time it became even rarer!
I collect TMNT & this is a amazing find. Scratch & hot spot are the ones I’ll probably never have unless I find them in the wild but so far I’ve found about 30 all at the goodwill outlet. Trying to build my collection cheap.

Man it kills me seeing them for that much. I had most of those figures plus scratch as a kid but of course i played with them. Also had the turtle van i use to sit on it and ride it around the house lol. Great finds guys.

4:08 Like with anything in this case it's all about production numbers to make these figures valuable. Scratch was a short run, I think only one production run (think short-printed yu-gi-oh cards, etc.) And because of that, boarded Scratch new was also going for $250-400+ even in 2009/2010.

Scratch was in one of the last runs of playmates 90s tmnt. Not many were made and the ones that were- were mostly released regionally in the US. So they weren’t even available in a lot of areas.
With TMNT pay attention to the variants. Even some of the minor figures with variant colored weapons and accessories can fetch a LOT more money
Late run figures and limited = value. simple concept that you likely know. One thing to look for on the first run is the Flyer club in the original 4 turtles of the 10 backs. they are worth far more than the later reprints. Same with the no Stripe April 10 back.
hotspot and scratch or two of your more expensive figures due to the fact that they came out towards the end of the line even would damaged packaging they will still fetch you a very awesome fine I'm pretty sure all those figures will fly pretty fast if price at the right

For scratch list it at $3995 and stay firm and patient, it will sell in time. Since its very rare. A good price will take time to find the right buyer.
Just sold both Sandstorm and Half Court loose last week on Ebay did very well on both.
I guess it’s the seller’s responsibility to know what their selling but I couldn’t sleep at night knowing I’d ripped somebody off so badly

id send any high dollar mint ones to vga to get graded and maximize your return value, but I also understand waiting 5 months to get them back from vga might not be worth it. I actually have have like 10 different pokemon sealed products at vga now getting graded and its been 4 months and im still in the pre grading stage lol

Sadly I own all power rager and TMNT toys when I was a younger little guy and 250 plus nes games and I remember buying little Simon for 6.99 at video store sadly they are in trash.

My first few jobs were at toy stores. I’ve touched all of those ninja turtle figures for sale, on the pegs. The 1st ever April O’Neil, has a yellow jumper with white boots. She shipped less than 1 figure every one and a half boxes.
Yellow and Orange boots one per box initially, but later would be 2 per box.
Sooo if you ever find the Yellow Jumper white boots April, she IS THE RAREST of all the figures… Happy Hunting….
