I’d be willing to bet that my Maris piper potatoes 🥔 peeled, chipped before blanching and deep frying in beef dripping are better than your faffed about with frozen chips!
I wouldn't have chip pan or deep fat fryer in my home! Disgusting, unhealthy, greasy things! My late mother had a built in fryer, belching out disgusting grease fumes! Horrible!

I buy em almost every week to bung in the freezer they're decent chips but taste sod all like chip shop chips. For me the tastiest chips you can get for the air fryer are McCain Home chips they're brilliant especially when they're golden brown
I told our lass, l would give it a go. Did them, exactly how you said, plated up, and took them to her. ....she had been dead for 2 weeks! So ate them all myself.
How much electricity have you used with the microwave for 5 minutes the airfryer for 25 minutes, then the waiting over half an hour for chip shop chips, the whole reason that chip shops are popular is because its a quick and convenient way to get your fish & chips.
Such a palava, try fresh cut potatoes boil for 10 mins, drizzle in oil, salt and roast in air fryer for 15 mins at 180, shake and cook another 5 mins, job done

I saw the original channel Chris Young that came up with this method your meant to do it with chips that dont have a coating them aldi homestyle have a coating I think steak cut chips typically dont have a coating on just potato and oil in the ingredients

Great also I am happy that there is a chippy just a minutes walk away from me. But good to know if I wanted some chip shop style and the chippy is closed.

The only thing that struck me was the source of the luke warm water. Someone once told me that the hot tap shouldn't be used for consumption. Maybe it was an old plumbing thing. I would be wary of exposing my food to the hot tap water and therefore use the cold tap and take the chill off either in a kettle or the microwave. Maybe not an issue in newer homes.
This was relevant when hot water came from header tanks in the loft where all sorts could crawl in and die in the water.

To get the best chip it’s all about the potato quality and unfortunately most times potato’s here in uk supermarkets are crap, except around September for a few months u can get decent Maris pipers and king edwards.

Lidl and Aldi do Maris Piper frozen chips. Could you not just shake the chips after a few minutes in the airfryer to get the same result??

I do all my chips in air fryer now, mccains make super crunchy chips frozen they are almost identical to chip shop
I’ll tell you what good chips are Maris piper potatoes chip pan on the cooker with lard old style way of cooking and they taste the best ever can’t beat it I don’t do it often but if I had it my way I would
Frozen french fries are the best to cook in an air fryer, 14 minutes at 200c. They come out nice and crispy
For all the negative nancys saying too much faff what just rinsing and shaking wow yeah that’s such hard work !!! 😂😂
And having your appliances on for over half an hour
try this much easier, 15mins at 150 then turn over another 15mins at 150 test, then another 5-10mins at 170 if needed.

Ok would not rinse or soak potato chips or any food in water from the hot tap. Whether combi boiler or copper tank

personally i like boiled potates with a tonne of butter. but if this is your thing, get a chip pan, beef dripping and chip some spuds. ffs
Guess most people are like wtf! Doesn't look like a chippy chippy, you could just as easily do it from chopping a raw potato, would take an extra 10min cooking but less play time with frozen chips!

Wots good to Keith is to peel spuds and rinse then dry put in microwave for 3mins let them steam for a minute preheat airfryer and cook for about 20mins depending on wot airfryer you have
Don't no if done this one I get pork.ribs out Morrisons from butcher side nothing on them stick in air fryer for about 29 mins then ten for about 5 then what ever bbq sauce you like on it for another 5 or mina delicious 😊😊😊

Not a big deal but I think RUclipsrs saying I saw a video but forget the name should work a bit harder to at least look and find out who the other youtuber was. Not a big deal but have a pen and paper and write down any inspiration just to give a bit of credit even if it doesn't directly I fluence the video.

You forgot the temperature in airfryer.
Hot water from the tap is from the TANK and not fresh drinking water. You should never consume this water. Better to boil the kettle and let it cool.

I'm not going to Aldi for frozen chips that's for sure, all bits and pieces not a good ad for Aldi! There's a guy on here called John who makes chips from potatoes, in half the time. This guy is an ad for how to not make chips that's eight minutes. I'll never see again.
