    I leased an Ioniq 6 SE RWD about six weeks ago, and it is so much better than I expected. It’s absolutely a road trip beast! For road trips, it has it all: great range, fast DC charging, smooth quiet ride, excellent handling and just about a perfect steering ‘feel’ for me - and I’m super picky about steering.

    I live right near a Kia dealer that moves a TON of EVs in CT, and I see so many EV6 and EV9s around. See several EV6 on my commute every day and am seeing more and more EV9. Love my EV6 and makes me happy that they are moving so many!

    I'm delighted to see these numbers swelling! I hope the goal of building the Ioniq 5 in Georgia in October really happens. My local dealer only started selling EV models a couple of months ago, with an Ioniq 5 Limited AWD identical to mine as the very first one on the lot. I'm surprised that it's still there! Someone should snatch it up! I think I'll contact the dealer and tell them that interested customers are welcome to contact me as an owner to ask their questions.

    My EV6 ICCU blew at almost 10k miles, just a week before my scheduled recall service. It took 3 weeks for the dealer to fix it, which was a bummer! They had to replace the power relay assembly as well as the ICCU. But I got my car back this week and I love it as much as ever. All cars, let alone ones based on so much new tech, will have their share of recalls and parts failures. Toyota just recalled 100,000 gas vehicles for debris in the engine that can cause a stall... there's a problem we won't have :)

    While shopping for my girlfriend’s 2024 Kona, we found they were selling out from under us. We finally found a Limited Trim in Ohio and traveled there to get it about one month ago now.
    It’s a really nice vehicle and that 2024 refresh was very welcome from the previous models.

    Just got my Ioniq 5 last month. 2024 model. Loving charging at home as well as the Electrify America (EA) Charging. I ran into one bad charger but the ones next to it were good to go. And honestly I didn't need the charge at the time I was just testing out the area. But nothing beats starting everyday with what I need for the day.

    I’m glad that the Ioniq 5 will be made in the USA for both the jobs and the tax credit. I’m not sure the discounts that Hyudai is giving will continue for the I5 refresh, so the tax credit could make up for that. I’ve gotten a little tempted by the EV 9 as I really like boxy cars and they are pretty heavily discounted right now. The Wind AWD EV 9 is very attractive as it has most of the bells and whistles that I want and a sunroof that opens. There are some things I like better on it than the higher trims. But it’s more car than I need, so I'll keep waiting for the refresh. I’m hoping that competition will keep prices down as there are a lot more EV’s out there than when the I5 was first introduced.

    Not aligning the charging architecture of the Kona with the rest of Hyundai's EV line up is a drag on that car. Not having an AWD option doesn't help either.

    I've had my Ioniq 5 AWD Limited for 16 months. I am now using a new Electrify America charging station location a mile from my house that has six 350kW chargers. I am very happy with the charging speeds I have been getting there. I consistently get speeds that top out at 242kW. Yesterday I charged from 21% to 80% in 14 minutes 23 seconds. The time before, also topping out at 242kW, from 16% to 80% in 16 minutes 4 seconds. These are better than advertised! And my range estimates for my driving style in my AWD limited is consistently in the 300 mile range as calculated by my Recurrent subscription, which they estimate to be 299 to 307 miles. My own calculations support Recurrent's estimates. That's much better than the 266 claimed by EPA estimates.
    I'm a very happy owner!!

      Glad your liking your EV, however if you live in a single family home you really should be home charging with a level 2 EVSE and not using DC fast charging in your town. Only use DV fast charging for when on long distance road trips

      @@ericcindycrowder7482 - Thanks for the advice.
      I am using the Electrify America charging because it is free for two years. I never charge above 80% unless we are going on a road trip, at which time I will top off to 100% using my home charger that will become the main source when the free EA charging benefit ends. I am not a high mileage driver, only charging every two or three weeks, so I am not harming the battery, if that is what you were concerned about.

      @@ericcindycrowder7482 Why do you say that you should only use DC fast chargers on long trips? Why should i pay to install a level 2 charger and pay for the electricity when Hyundai has given me 2 years of free charging with Electrify America?

    • @jeffcranmer5374
      @jeffcranmer5374 3 месяца назад

      Regular fast charging may reduce the overall lifespan of your battery. Once your free charging contact runs it, it will be cheaper to charge at home than at a fast charger by a considerable margin. I pay about $4.50 per hundred miles at home.
      Also bear in mind that you don't necessarily need a very fast charger at home. With my 240V 'Granny charger' supplied with the car, I was able to install a cheap 240V, 20A outlet. Since it was the only outlet on that circuit, only the breaker and the outlet need to be changed. The existing wiring was OK . It only charges at 16A with that setup, but that's 10 miles of range added per hour, or 120 miles added overnight on my 3.2 miles per KwH Volvo. That's fast enough for my needs, for a fraction of the price of a dedicated high power charger (my car could charge up to 48A on AC).
      The charging efficiency is much better than 110V charging, and it doesn't seem to be any less efficient than higher charging current 240V systems (that statement may not be true for all manufacturers).

    • @reduxith
      @reduxith 3 месяца назад

      @@renrut52name23regular fast charging reduces the health of the battery faster, lowering its lifespan. Fast charging is meant really for when you’re on a longer trip and need to charge quickly to get to your destination. Slower charging is healthier for the car, and takes longer, which is why you charge overnight in your home.

    I am 8 days away from my 1-year anniversary of leasing an Ioniq 6 Limited. There were a few more recalls than I would have liked and a coolant pump (or was it two?) failed at 6000 miles. The first one was replaced and the same error message displayed so they replaced a second one. Did both fail or did they replace the wrong one? I dunno. I've had no EV related problems with the car since.
    Range went down noticeably over the winter, but not too bad. It's back to where it was a year ago, which is nice.
    We took a road trip from NYC to DC in late March. It preformed very well. No range anxiety. We are going to do it again later this summer.
    I'm glad I got this car. I still get lots of comments and questions. It's been a lot of fun.
