I’m trading a small account after losing a sizable account earlier this year. Following your fundamentals has helped me keep losses smaller. I predominantly trade SPY options but I never buy deep ITM calls or puts so I’m going to try this next time with one contract. Happy Holidays to you and the rest of the crew at SMB! Another great video Seth. I have learned so much from SMB over the last few years. Some of the things I like about your advice on SPY is the contract size and your advice in this and previous videos. Trade to the size of your account and net worth. If 3 contracts are too large in comparison to the overall size of your account, adjust. If you are purchasing or selling large amounts of SPY contracts, save on commissions by moving up to SPX.

Good strategy. Informative. Deep ITM calls are great once you are sure that the SPY (underlying) is moving in the direction you expect it to move. Thank you for sharing this video.

If your good at tape reading and momentum based trading, it's a great way to catch the buyers / sellers of your contracts off guard especially with short dated expirations which put that volatility in your favor. It takes alot of time to develop the right system around making this style of trading consistently profitable, but it can be done.

I scalp OTM options. I think the leverage it gives you is great and if done properly the returns can be insane. However, it comes with a lot of risk to always manage risk thru position size. I have some trade examples on my channel
These 0 DTE options expire same day. Although ITM, if the SPY goes down , the option price goes down. This example tells you upside, not the downside of the trade.

I like the idea of this signal for investiquant. Just an idea for small accounts, would a bull call debit spread make more sense in this scenario as it caps the downside risk, reduces premium and margin requirement? If there is high POP and a risk reward 1:1 profile that would be a viable long term strategy in theory. Also I think a higher VIX or IV rank could be beneficial, just an idea.

I like this but go out farther like 100 days, 65 delta
yes and the margin requirement is a major limitation without having sold a call above the call you bought. and the risk of it going down is insane. cmon guys, you guys are more responsible than that when it comes to education. I've watched a ton of your videos.

Do you know how liquid the SPY is? You do understand that you can stop out of a spy option just as quick as you can a stock. In fact, in TOS you can set a price you want to stop out.
Floor you must be referring to a debit spread, which was not discussed in this video. This is flat out buying a long call. Not sure what your concern is here.
Why deep ITM calls are so cheap? Its delta would be .7 hence should be 70% of actual stock price. Am I missing something?

only thing that should be added to the video is if spy stays flat and trades a tight range the theta gets crushed and your lose even when spy could close flat.

YOLO depends on your size. Risking 1 contract representing 1% of acct size isn’t YOLO in my view.
Not sure what is Yolo about this concept Flounder. It's trading a signal with much less capital than you'd otherwise have to use.
Are some of your traders choosing to go "remote" when the NYC Vaccine mandate moves forward or is your firm "in-house" requires vaccine to come to their Manhattan desks?
most are vaccinated. We still have a lot of guys remote / or they come into the office a few days and rest at home
