After spending all day tweaking a Helix I have to say this sounds so much better 😂
Still, £500 for a delay/chorus/distortion/wah seems a bit nuts. You could buy top end separate units for that.
beautiful chorus, really amazing with the echo ....takes me back to 1980's....
Ibanez UE 300, 303B & 305 - literally from the 80s and easily available at half the price! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Name a better duo than pete playing the guitar while lee fiddling with the pedals
😂😂😂
Like no other! 🤘🎸
Glad you didn’t say knobs!
Lee sucks at moving knobs, he looks like a 3 year old moving stuff continuously with no reason
Dan and Mick?
That ending was epic. We've seen a lot of pedals on this channel, but damn does this one have some killer tones. Bravo, Pete.
The excitement over new stools really, more than anything, brought me so much joy.
The Captain did a great job of being Pete's foot
He did. Even kept it out of Pete's mouth better! heh heh
As time goes by, the two of you are becoming better and better at your presentations. Well done.
If I hadn't just purchased a Bad Horsie from yourselves I would be all over this haha. That chorus and drive sound are great to my ears and with my limited experience using a wah my Morley Bad Horsie is an excellent piece of kit.
Excellent work as usual Mr Pete. Good luck tomorrow in the Final.
Big love from Spain.
Looks like a great piece of kit - the only thing I could think of to improve it would have been a tap tempo on the Echo - Great demo chaps, thanks
It sounds crazy good. It would also make for a great quick gig pedal-board. Great review.
I’ve been saying Keith Scott is awesome for 35 years 👍👍Good call Pete💪🏻💪🏻
best drive i've heard in a long time. It just works.
Keith Scott IS a hero! What an incredible player.
I'd love to see Keeley or JHS do something like this! Maybe switch from Wah to Volume with a footswitch.
idk man, dont see these flying off the shelf, but hey, I could be wrong. You could go out and get the effects separately for the same price and you could do more.
Agreed. Or for half the price new in 2010, you could have gotten a Boss ME-70. Probably cheap on ebay and sounds phenomenal. Same individual pedals sections like this too. If anything, this appears to have copied Boss. It even sounds better imo than this too.
@@tinystar3010 The only thing it has going for it, is that its analog lol These days I would go with an HX stomp for digital, thinking about getting one even though I have a tube amp and pedals to fill in some spots in my rig.
LOVE it!!!!! (And I too have been a Keith Scott fan from the start Pete. He is awesome)
I like the suggestion below . Anderson’s . Digital and analogue effects comparison .
Skreddy makes combo analog pedals that I really dig!
the Jam pedals all analog multi fx pedal has been out there for years, a wonderful piece of gear, esp the pink floyd edition!
Well, to be fair, Boss had something similar with the ME-80 10+ years ago. But I do like the idea of analog multi-effects with no menus to go through.
Ibanez released the UE analog series back in the 80s.
Granted there was no wah, but apart from that...!
But the ME-80 is not actually analog. Still uses digital COSM technology. It just has an “analog” interface.
Analog and no menus is a winner. I just wish the petal was a little cheaper.
@@mr.d.572 if this was $299, maybe $349 US, it would be perfect. £500 is like $620. No thanks.
@@rocknrollmonkey8668
I agree, I actually love this pedal. But the price is way too much. There aren't even any on the used market for cheaper. I wonder if anyone is even buying it.
Sounded fantastic, £500. ... Well it's 5 pedals, All sound great. Guitar players can also add their favourites... But I think it won't be around for long... will be a collector's item in 7 years.
Like the Ibanez UE 300, 303B & 305 from the 1980s!
Which are easily available at half the price 😃
This thing sounds awesome. If I just needed an portable all in one unit, I would def buy this ... I have too many pedals though. But I like this a lot more than I would have thought.
Great playout by Pete!
This needs to be listened to with headphones!
Love it! Morely makes incredible gear. Andertons is awesome!❤🎸☺👍
The 1990s reckons that’s a great pedal! My favourite bit was seeing Lee’s hand using the wah on the split screen; it looked like a frog’s foot!
Morley make some good stuff. They should use there stuff more often.
To summarize, it all made sense!
Add a noise gate, tuner, second delay with tap function and possibly a Whammy and I'd be happy.
Yeah this doesn't offer enough for me for its price tag.
Love this thing but yeah it's a little light for the price.
THIS SOUNDS BADASS!
The outro was shredalicious!
The pedal you didn't think you wanted, or needed, till Pete played that last part, the one with the 'whirly bits'
(:
That's my kinda pedal right there. I really dig that.
Sounds amazing and play. . I want that pedal
Really Good drive Sound
What I would call a classic 80s all in one pedal made now. Something to look and buy.
Ibanez UE 300, 303B & 305 - literally from the 80s and easily available at half the price!! 😃
Watched and purchased immediately
Need to do a comparison with Lee on the Wah for Pete vs all of the auto-wah options out there.
sounds flippin great
Next blindfold test definitely has to be many pedals where the guesser simply chooses digital or analogue.
I once spent few hours comparing analogue pedals with digital copies inside my Boss MS-3. Only difference that I noticed is that MS-3 is more quiet :) The tone and feel was absolutely same level for me. After that I removed all analog pedals from my pedalboard for a while. But later brought some back, because I hate tweaking from menu - you need several steps to change some parameter, while in analog pedal it is just one. But cannot save settings. So, at the end I am using both for ergonomic reasons.
if digital is good enough to replicate tube amps they can easily replicate solid state distortion pedals. Most people still want pedals cos they look good on their instagram posts.
@@SergeiVlassov Ever since they did that “head vs. Tread” video I’ve been doubting a lot of my gear conceptions and unfortunately don’t have the money or patience to blindfold test it myself!
@@0megalul309 Not exactly. I am sure that there are some insufferable souls who do indeed buy pedals for social media "clout" but when it comes to pedals, there is another big reason why they still endure and are still quite popular. Keep in mind that I say this as someone who has both a pretty big pedalboard plugged into a tube amp and is pretty heavily invested into digital via an interface and software.
Let's start with the big benefit of going digital. You get a lot of stuff for a lot less money. Heck. Some of that stuff is even really, really good. For the guitarist that is looking for a broad palette of effects, there isn't a more cost effective way to do it. When I started using Amplitube, I was shocked at just how good some of the effects sound and even how reactive they are to playing dynamics and the guitar's volume/tone knobs. Additionally. It was amazing to have access to so many iconic effects without actually having to buy those effects individually (sometimes for a lot of money). I will admit that I went into the whole software side of things with a lot of skepticism but after spending an afternoon putting together a really, really good LA Sessions style setup with a bunch of pedals and even rack effects, I was sold.
So with the big selection and the generally great sound, what could possibly be the drawback? The first thing that really stands out is ease of control. With a individual pedal, you have a set of fixed, immediately accessible physical controls that can be operated very quickly. Software/digital/modeling based solutions tend to work well with presets in mind where you set everything up a certain way and don't really need to alter it but that can sometimes get in the way when you just need to very, very quickly tweak one knob on a delay pedal or overdrive for a specific part of a song. This isn't exactly a deal-breaker or anything and there are ways to lessen the issue but it is still something I notice when going between my physical and digital setups.
The next issue is something that is much harder to overcome. Digital solutions give you access to a ton of effects at once but even with all those choices, you still end up with less choice when compared to a physical setup (with individual pedals). For example. In my physical setup, I have a couple of different chorus pedals. One is a TC Electronic that I use for more conventional chorus sounds and another is a Mr Black DoubleChorus that I got not so much because I like chorus but because it has a very different overall sound and is useful in different contexts. Along the same lines, I have a East River Drive as one of my overdrive pedals because I wanted a pedal that specifically captured the older, milder Tubescreamer sounds.
In my digital setup, I do have some selections within certain effects types but not with nearly as much granularity. I can't get the Mr Black DoubleChorus sound at all and I also don't really have a lot of choices when it comes to Tubescreamer varieties so I have to settle for a emulation of a more modern, harsher version.
Again. It isn't exactly a dealbreaker or anything but it is something that can't really be solved. Some companies have tried to bring boutique pedal builders in (Amplitube has a Fulltone selection for example) but there is no real way for a software/digital solution to offer the sheer variety that you can get from physical pedals. That will be more important to some more than others but it is still a major factor and one that will keep a lot of guitarists in the individual pedal scene.
There is room in the world for both digital/software solutions and analog pedals and there are contexts where the strengths of each come out in a big way.
@@martyshwaartz971 Why worry about it? Just let your own ears and taste guide you and don't worry about stupid internet/RUclips punditry.
Ooh, I think I need this!
I'd like it more if it had a separated booster, instead of a "more drive" switch that only works with the drive engaged. I have a Caline crazy cacti that works like Morley, I always think about how better it would be with two separated active stages.
If I was playing clubs I'd be all over this. Looks like survival gear. Great finale.
Sounds like early Rush guitar tone in a box, all you need is a 70s hi-watt or plexi and you're basically set.
I would love to see and uncut series if youtube allowed it. You two are just the funniest f***ers ever! And the guitar playing just tops it off!
Metallica and Mastodon? Oh Pete you're spoiling us. It's inspiring that you're both expanding and learning stuff that might not be entirely your jam.
I didn't know that DSP stood for that 🤭
Andertons... I issue you a challenge.
Many years ago there was a few gigs that went under the name of "Night Of The Guitars"
This is well overdue for some kind of revival, especially now.
It doesn't have to be "famous" guitarists as such, Dave Simpson, The Captain, Pete, Rabea to name a few, could do a mini tour of the UK, there are plenty of venues to accommodate this, but I appreciate it would take some planning.
I am sure demand for this gig would be extremely high.
would love to get my hands on this. also you can tel the engine turn pattern is done by hand. beautiful piece of kit
Way better value to find yourself an Ibanez UE 300 series from the 1980s!
3 effects per board with the choice between original component Tube Screamer, AD-80 Analog delay, Chorus, Compressor Limiter & effects loop!
UE 300, UE 305 or the UE 303B (bass effects - auto filter, Chorus/Flange, Compressor)
Half the price of the Morley and mains power!
This pedal is intriguing. Hand it over to Lee and Cici and let’s see how it sounds for us lower(register) life forms🤘🏽
remembering the old Morley pedals all Chromed and Hug with an E huge! monsters but did they sound good.
Yeah, I once owned a monstrous Fuzz Wah Volume from Morley
regarding the wah angle, I suspect that if it were on a pedalboard with a raised front edge (eg a pedaltrain) the wah would be pretty flat at it's toe down position...
Great pedal
Tech 21 fly rig series
Pete and Lee had a good Bryan Adam's tone dialed in there before jimi. Like Byran's" run to me"
towards the end of that outro i thought Pete was going to blast out the Maggot Brain solo...
Hasn’t almost every pedal maker done something like this over the years in some way? Most don’t have Wah but that’s no great loss.
EHX for certain have some, Yamaha have done modular versions.
Sounds like fun .
I was saddened when Pete took the pedal off the master knob twiddler just as he was getting to grips with his new skill of up and down such a shame. 😂🏴👍👍👍🥃Respect to you fellas.
Sounds great
Ibanez did a few versions of something similar back in the early 80's. I believe the guitar version had compressor, Tube Screamer, chorus, and delay. They made them for both guitar and bass, and I believe they had rackmount versions with a foot controller. Gets tough to remember sometimes. I still see them around in the $200-300 range.
Yeah...
Said the same thing yesterday.
It was the UE series - I've had several of the variants, both in pedal and rack + controller. And as you say, you can pick them up for 2-300 £ or $.
The pedals were UE 300, 305 for guitar and 303B - for bass!
The racks were UE 400 series
You can get 3 effects for less than the price of 1 of that series of pedals!
Basically the exact same circuits as the AD-80, 800 series Tube Screamer Overdrive (not in the one with 'Distortion' though!).
Each of them had THREE effects switches, master on/off + effect loop
You got to choose 3 effects out of either stereo chorus, analog delay, Tube Screamer(or unpleasant Distortion circuit), Compressor Limiter, Parametric EQ, or on the bass version Auto Filter, Compressor, Chorus/Flanger
And they sounded sublime!
Are the Tech21 flyrigs analog?
This with a DSM Humbold Simplifier DLX is all I need.
13:28 this pedal is really cool!
Multi-effects setups like these are always a tough sell for me. I like how it sounds but since I already have a spread of pedals, I can't really see adding this thing in without creating pedal order problems. The big issue here is the specific mix of effects. It is great if you will only ever really use this pedal and nothing else but when you start adding in other types of effects, you will realize that this specific arrangement of effects won't easily slot into any given spot on your board.
To be honest, I think TC Electronic got it right with their approach to the multi-effects pedal. They avoided gain based effects entirely and instead focused on a set of "slots" that you can put a wide variety of built-in effects into. This lets you choose a selection and a pedal order that fits into whatever kind of board you are running.
It has an fx loop on it between the drive and chorus so- it's not as limiting as it seems. That said, it feels odd huh? If it were reasonably priced, I might get it to setup a totally different board than the one I have now- so I'd have some options when it comes to pedal boards. I could see setting this up for a classic rock, 70s vibe. But I'm not paying close to 600 or maybe more in US dollars for it. For like 400 bucks you can get an amazing modeler- the Headrush MX5- which has Quad Core processing technology in it- whatever that means. All i know is it sounds every bit as good as a Helix, has a drag and drop interface that's bone head simple, and it has like 30 amps and 60 something fxs in it- with cab sims. Plus looper, tuner, doubles as recording interface, etc. Imo Morely priced themselves out of the market with this one. Two Notes just came out with a nice analogue amp in a box style, multi-fx thing- I think it's around 400 bucks to. Morley done lost they mind.
Tc electronic is too expensive
@@christianpaulroldan4010 LOL- TC Electronics is one of the cheapest manufacturers out there man. Their top-of-the-line multi fx unit is only like 360$ brand new- that's very affordable relative to JHS, Wampler, Boss, OBN, Walrus, etc.
@@christianpaulroldan4010 For the most part, TC Electronic is actually one of the more reasonable, more inexpensive manufacturers in the guitar pedal world. They might seem expensive to those who only buy stuff like Joyo or the other extreme budget pedals that some RUclipsrs tend to push but they are still quite reasonably priced in relation to other brands.
@@stoneysdead689 whoa thats nice. . I was thinking that big bulky flat multifx i forgot the model, i know that one is expensive
Damn that sounds good
Ibanez had the UE series 40 years ago! They even had a built in power supply.
Haha nice wah action Cap!
Great Scott Marty!
Cool stuff if you want something exactly like this. I mean the delay, chorus, drives and wah are you favourites….
Cave pedal Pete shines it into a diamond though
looking for something like this but with reverb delay vibrato and chorus
Agree on the pedal, but if on a pedal board then it is actually compensating the angle so back to how a normal wah works on the floor😅
I 've got this, plugged into a Boogie Mark V : I am not ready to change for a full digital rig, folks !
I got a new drum stool this week. What's the chances of that?!
Pete is on point regards to the angle on Morley wah and volumes, you need to lift the front to get a usable angle and the right feeling of the throw, strange they haven't got it fixed by now.....
7:20 the boys discuss their experiences on a night out in Thailand.
Liking the video 60 seconds in, for the Bryan Adams/Keith Scott praise. That's an automatic win.
Sounds great, especially through those amps. The delay should have a tap tempo if it doesn't.
Literally the whole point is that it’s analog
@@liamtahaney713 there are many analog delays with tap tempo.
@@liamtahaney713 With computers these days and everything in perfect time a delay set by ear will not be in sync for very long. Personally I would have no use for a delay you couldn't set to a note value. There are hybrid delays like the Wampler Faux Tape Echo V2 with tap tempo.
I didn't expect Pete to riff out to Blood and Thunder.
This seems like the kind of multi-fx you buy once and keep forever, maybe putting it in your will for your children. 😁
Ibanez UE 300, 303B & 305 - literally from the 80s and easily available at half the price!! 😃
Danish Pete with a bit of Mastodon? Never thought I'd see the day...
When will you review a tacho Brahe pedal? Like the parapedal or…
JAM pedals did that ages ago , just they are built to order...
like it - road ready.
For that price where is the reverb, gate, compressor, looper?
Pete's playing was nice... but the star of this video, for me? Lee's three, huge toes on the Wah 🤣 (09:59)
This makes perfect sense if you are using a tube amp!
A thing that I don't know if exists but I think it should is a totally "analog" fx unit with digital control and presets. I said "analog" because these echo/reverb pedal aren't really analog. But anyway, they're old school digital with their marvelous flaws. But the ability to choose a preset and have the tone ready is a good thing. I which we could have both.
O there you are!
Where can I buy these new stools from!?
I’m really wondering if þis could be plugged ſtraiȝt into a cab ſim.
Sounds like an Alex lifeson chorus from the old days 🤘🤘🤘
Was Pete playing High on Fire?
Ya Bryan Adams a little Jimmy then you throw Prince in the mix. Pete you're a bad man.
Don’t forget Brian’s guitar player. He’s been there all along. Can’t remember his name but he’s really good too. Lol
What more would I need? One and done for me.
maybe a compressor.....on the 2.0 would be nice
Who ever invented this is genius
Does the wah act as a volume pedal when not engaged?
It’s a switch less wah
Keith Scott kills!!
That thing looks and sounds awesome. If I had $500 to blow, I could be tempted.
For the price, they could have added something to go direct like the Fly Rig from Tech 21. Some preamp flavor and a speaker simulator that you can de-activate. It would still be analog, but with some modern use. For this price I can simply get the pedals separate. Stereo thing requires two amps, so no much sense for a multi fx.
