Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome Filming Locations Mermaids Cave, Blackheath, NSW

While visiting Blackheath in the New South Wales Blue Mountains on the road to the Megalong Valley we visited a tranquil spot named Mermaids Cave. The location was used in the film Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and referred to as "The Crack In The Earth".

Love the Mad Max films. Beyond Thunderdome was the first one I watched in a cinema. The soundtrack and cinematography was outstanding. Like the previous two it had an influence in modern day pop-culture.

Good video. Most people haunt the filming locations of Road Warrior and I could only find pics of BT's locations on fansites, but this video was specific enough for my satisfaction! Always wondered what the crack in the earth looked like now. Thanks.

The reason he fell of platform was we didn't believe he was a man,so we had to cheek,He woke up was scared and fell of the platform,Very Very Cold day For Poor Mel Gibson!!!
