It might have been me. I had an epidermoid cyst on my lower back a few months ago. It grew really fast from nothing over 8 days. It was nearly 3cm in diameter and quite a dome shape, redness expanded around the cyst about 10 cm radius from the centre. It was warm red and painful. So I assumed the cyst had ruptured. I went to the hospital and instead of draining it they gave me a course of antibiotics Flucloxacillin. Amazingly the cyst disappeared after a few days, now it’s completely gone. Only a bruise mark remains several months later. I wish it had been drained instead of antibiotics. Could it return? Where would all the contents of the cyst have gone? Nearly all cysts are drained or removed.
