In the video she’s sewing a wedding dress to her own skin, as a poetic way to say that she has her lover under her skin. The dress was designed by Alexander McQueen.
The first part of the video are explicit sexual intercourse between bjork and her then partner, contemporary artist Matthew Barney, footage has been then manipulated by Nick Knight (famous fashion photographer who directed the video).
The way her face looks when she sings “i love him” evokes the idea of vulnerability, she’s now in danger cause she has a weak spot (on Vespertine there are many tracks on which she evokes her relationships one of them she says “i never thought i would compromise”.
I think the line “Pagan Poetry” not necessarily refers to the sexual act but is a way to suggest her feelings for him, which are difficult to put into words, she says “on the surface simplicity, but the darkest pit in me, its pagan poetry” think of a way to express your feelings without being obvious or sounding cheesy.

Bjork's music sounds like it's from the future, 100 or more years but I dig it.

So a famous quote about Björk is, “Björk sings as if she’s never heard anyone else sing before.”
    Most fans agree with this.
